Good question Sonny. I have just posted an article about solar panel technologies here www.cleanenergyreviews.info/blog/pv-panel-technology. In summary, you would be hard pressed to avoid "Chinese blue panels with the white lines". You are describing poly silicon solar panels, which are most popular at the moment due to cheap price and decent performance. There are many very good Chinese made panels. I think Chinese made poly silicon panels can offer a good quality and good value solution, for example I would be happy with Trina Solar, ReneSola, TDG and Jinko on my roof amongst others.
Certainly is confusing! Thanks for a simple explanation of what the installers think. I have spoken to quote a few of the leading installation companies in Melbourne and many are using the brands you spoke about. Nice to know you guys think the same. Everyone has a reason to sell what they do but its not always the customers benefit that comes first. I have just put up a 3KW off grid system using 'Solar World' panels from Germany coupled with a 3KW sunny boy and 3KW sunny island. All going well so far. Any thoughts on 'Solar world'? Cool vid about how tough they are. Sunmodule Protect - Bike Show Intersolar Europe Cheers
As an Installer, I NOT only considering the TIER 1 but more than that 1, PID Free , 2 Low Light performance 3 Perc Technology 4, If possible in Photons or desert knowledge 5 I use at least 310w panels at $0.99 power per watts MAXIMUM unfortunate Only a few brand fall in this category, and some brand have high and low end models to cater all level of customers, so you really pay what you get Esmail Attia
Interesting that renesola did not rate a mention. maybe a little fresh at this stage? They seem to be fast becoming installers choice at least up here in qld and it's hard to find anything negative about them through forums / reviews. Cheers
Hi effected112, thanks for your comment. ReneSola should definitely be on there, and will be in the 2015 video. Based on feedback I would but it up there with Trina. Would be interested to hear from anyone else who has panels they particularly like.
