Better off getting a normal power bank and a small solar panel. Protect the power bank from the direct sun. The all in one units will totally bake your battery laying in the sun.
Solar power banks don't make sense to me, you're expected to leave a lithium battery out in direct sunlight for hours on end. Could've sworn that's how spicy pillows happen.
Solar power banks are great for emergencies, but be careful with direct sunlight. The battery can swell and get hot, so use USB charging as a safer option.
I saw some single panel solar power banks at Amazon that allow you to charge from a usb. So you could use it as a regular charger. Solar power would come in handy during an emergency. Not too bad for their price range, which is typically 20-30 bucks.
I had 1 of the 4PATRIOTS devices. I left it in the sun on a cool day for 2 hours. The battery swelled and was super hot. The instructions for battery care say specifically DO NOT PLACE IN SUNLIGHT. Even though it has a solar panel attached to it. I now use a separate folding solar panel and I keep the new battery bank in the shade. I bought a Swiss Tech.
These are almost a waste of money 🤑 it's best to buy a 10w solar panel, and hook it to a car charger, to charge a phone and power bank. . My $15 10w solar panel from Amazon, charged my phone and power bank in less than a day. Winter time, it didn't do much for my phone. Washington State. I should have tried with my phone off?
In my experience, the solar can charge the battery, but it is much better at charging an attached phone. Might be worth a try since you already have the power banks.
My friends cottage has a full sized solar panel hooked up to a battery with USB outlets, it's great, it kept our phones(3) charged 100% the whole week, we had nice sunny days though, but it made me think about buying the setup, the said it cost around $500 to get the whole thing set up
What source for the battery size of the phone did you use for the comparison as i find 8wh being over 60% kind of high i personally have a battery around 20wh so this would not be 50%. Not saying your math is wrong just wondering what how a modern iPhone battery is around 3500 mah seems kindof low for a 14 pro
Yeah iPhones have small batteries compared to other modern phones. A lot of different sites list the battery size, I just googled “iPhone 14 pro watt hours” and found it on places like 9to5Mac and Apple Insider

Warning: use the solar power bank just for emergency because the lithium battery Will start to grow if continuously used from the sun so stick with USB charging and use the solar panel if necessary.
My old tablet has a 7000 battery and it takes literally day so i don't think it's very bad for a free renewable energy that have the potential to be more efficient in the future
Bruh the little orange one is horrible you'll be beached like a whale for days for 10% battery I had to upgrade to a bigger 4 panel charger to charge that one as a regular bank
Not only that, but sitting your solar Bank out in the heat of the sun for 3 Days To trickle charge it will just deteriorate the cells to the point where you have to buy a new one in short order

Exactly, I think the current crop of solar power banks are all flawed in that way. Interestingly, it looks like solid-state lithium batteries will have wider temperature ranges. So maybe in a few years' time we'll get solar power banks that will be able to tolerate the heat
