This is one of the longest videos I've ever posted lmao sorry about that - hopefully the timestamps help and as always feel free to just reference the build link. There was like 100 different variations of this build and tiny little swaps you could make / optimizations, so I wanted to go really in depth with it since I've spent a lot of time thinking about it and I likely won't make another Blizzard video this season. I am really enjoying my frozen orb build in Season 4 but for sure hitting a boss wall. In Pit it seems for me around 60 where it's tough to keep them staggered. Funny thing is I can speed farm T100 Nightmares with no issues. I mean this build is crazy fast moving. Fun in Helltide also. With tempering and such it's tough to alter gear now - means all new for the most part with a new build. Will start compiling for a Blizzard build. I wish they had gear swap mechanics to switch between sets. Masterworking up two sets would be brutal with mats needed, will see how it goes. Need 60+ pit for the higher mats though so really no choice. Great video, length isn't a problem if the content is good!

Might have to give this one a try, been struggling to do any ubers and cant get past t60 pit, thanks for the very detailed vids as always.

Thanks for this guide, feels sooo much better than what I was trying to push with. Ball Lightning got me to Pit 30 but felt like I was struggling to push enough damage or being too much in melee i'd die to something silly. This build feels far better and I am still missing some Paragon glyphs at max level (4 total) and only some low level masterwork on items and I was able to do Pit 30 without barely breaking a sweat. Love this build and feel I can push much further in Pit now :)

😮 no joke. I was struggling on 60s pit with frozen orb. Boss damage was sub par and I was dying left and right. I decided to give this a try and wowzers, was it my night. Got the perfect staff with Int and Cost Red GA on my first go at the mystery vendor, and all the perfect tempers, and CR 4th level masterwork. Decided to go all in and see just how good this was and paid uber lord zir a visit. Boom! Killed him on my first try! Coming from a build that already focused on attack speed and cost/cool down reduction helped smooth the transition naturally. I was just using the wrong main attack. Thank you! Now I have something to really build on. Felt good killing my first uber boss. Subscribed for more!

Hey NickTew, Thanks for me video, great guide overall! I have been playing Blizzard as well and trying to figure stuff out. Maybe you could expand on a couple choices you made: 1. Vyr's Mastery vs Shatter. As I understand it Vyr's gives just DR for us, right? In high pits I feel like I get 1shotted anyway. 2. 1h+OH vs Staff: Just doing some napkin math I feel that 1h is better when you can support the attack speed. you gain 1 more aspect and 1.2 base attack speed. Unless I am missing something this is more DPS than a Staff. The CDR is a bonus to that. 3. Conjuration skills over Frost Nova/Ultimate: Frost Nova feels great to me compared to either Conj Skill, it instantly CC's and vuln's the pack I am fighting. Ice Blades does nothing (it feels like), barely any vuln application, unless it is a boss, barely any CD for other skills. Lightning Spear just stuns and applies vuln but idk if that is worth a slot. Deep Freeze was pretty ok for me so far since I use the Frozen Tundra Aspect. I can drop a couple Blizzards and just press Deep Freeze if my CD's are down. Everything will be dead and my CD's refreshed. Especially the CD refresh is awesome, you can just go into the ultimate for .5 seconds to refresh CDs. Would love your opinion on my questions, thanks again for the vid :)

Awesome build man but I have a question. Would we put out more damage if we were to change out the staff for a wand and offhand? The wand would have the Glacial Aspect and the offhand would have the Control Aspect. This way we could have more ice spike damage, cold damage or damage to close/frozen. Just been thinking and thought I would run it past you

this is great ! it gets the job done for now to handle the pits and lotza content? but after i gathered mats and all i want to try pure fireball since i have crazy 3 star gears for it like the staff and the gloves ? aaaaand a perfect necklace ^^ but ice shards too with a massive frost nova smithing to freeze the entire screen :D that can be done and i did it but twasnt good for boss and i need some ubers for it i guess ! i would be very happy if u did those ;) spear of lycander seems great too!

@NickTew which rings to wear if you had all unique rings? Blue rose has 40% base increase to ice spikes so with master working it could do higher damage increase than other rings at rank 4. No?

I have found a focus with 3* max tempers should i use it with a wand or should i keep seeking a perfect staff ? Thanks for the build. its very fun to play !

very nice guide indeed! so helpfull! i have 2 questions though. Maybe you can tell me the actual numbers to aim for when it comes to crit ch, vuln dmg, cd red etc. And I noticed that paragon tree is different from the one in the mobalytics.

Love the build, thank you! A question - I have resistance (120-150%) and armour (11.5k) capped with 3 skulls. I found 2 paragon points I can remove without losing resistance cap. Where would this be best spent? eg. ice spike dmg? intelligence? Thanks @NickTew

Gave up on farming the amulet for frozen orb...switched to this very easily from Incinerate and haven't looked back. I made some small tweaks but loving it.

@NickTew Thanks! Thoughts on using Yen boots over Esu. I find it easier to stay alive with yen casting my barriers all the time, but wondering if the dps would drop too much, test dummies for me didnt show much dif but idk

Great build man thank you One question I have is what should I prioritize in masterworking? Yours look like all over the place for example I got 2 weapons One got masterworked on Intelligence the other on Ice Spike damage But I find It kinda hard to see the difference in damage can’t really decide what to prioritize

Yo nick, any chance of getting a update on the build for something like paragon not maxing resistance just cause i have no use for gem spots in jewelry anymore and thought i could squeeze some more damage out but just have no idea how to navigate the paragon board as a returning player. Cheers p.s love the build watched the video multiple times to understand it got double master work on my staff ice dmg but rolled fire dmg still can out put 4-5 mil but not vs bosses

I noticed you had critical strike damage on staff in the video but cost reduction in the link. Do you move to critical strike once you get the mana under control?

Having the same experience as you with the Ice Spike tempering... nice build.

I'm trying hydras instead of lightning spear. What are your thoughts? I did this as I loved hydra/frozen orb/blizzard in Diablo 2. I really like using them and I give up the stun but get always on constant damage, and place them ahead of you or through a door way = 1. soften up mobs 2. scout to see if there is anything in that room (hydras doing nothing or firing).

hey nick, nic0 ebuild, what do you think of the "Evade in cloud of bats" activ in normal boots ? another unstopable and so mana battery for thibault, could be great no ?

This is pretty awesome, been using the frozen orb build till now but it was kinda DPS capping... I did the pit up to just shy of 60 with that, and while it was great for trash, the bosses often took like 5 minutes of constant concentration to somehow dps down, which is why I just gave up and dialed it back and been doing 40. Tried this today and just straight up went to 71, there I got that blood bishop thingy who seems to have formed a pact with the ghost of Elias to spam his omni-directional RPG back to back literally... so after dying 5 times on that boss, I stopped again and just farmed 61 a bunch lol. But the build definitely works well, mine doesn't quite have the DPS shown in the video, it's close though, but the boss killing capabilities are already miles better than the frozen orb build I had, now it makes me wonder whether sorcerers can have even higher single target boss dps with other builds. In any case, thanks for putting together the video!

Nick just one question. Why aspect of frozen tundra? You don't use the deep freeze ultimate so that aspect is useless no?

I'm sure you are farming a lot of whispers for the gold, what's your build choice of that? Do you think arc lash is king of farming or maybe firebolt?

hi if i use Blue rose instead of the regular ring with frozen tundra aspect is it better or worse than not using that ring? I mastered it and icespikes dmg was luckily being leveled

Could you try chain lightning, with fire bolt and chain lightning enchant, maybe better is you have shako and tyraels, idk.. and a lot of chain lightning ranks in gloves, and enchant with chain lightning and crit dmg, a cap for atack speed

43 mins of pure goodness!!! Would the speed farm version also be good for speed farming tier 100 nmd with a group? I don’t use talrash ring… maybe because I’m a bit bad at the game and not a great pilot but I don’t seem to miss it specially once you begin to upgrade the rings. Very well made video! Keep it up!

i miss my arc lash season 3 build but it's probably not viable in pits like over 30 but your speedfarm version looks pretty nice i will test this out.

I tried this build and I really liked it. Although I my damage is not very high, around 600k max. I think that it's very important to consider (sorry if I missed during the video) the Critical Chance Damage. Mine is quite low at around 107% and his is 400%+. For what I saw, the staff is only adding 100% in his build. So I wondering how can I reach as high as 400% ? Thanks

First, great build video, thank you. Can you please clarify the gameplay loop because the one in the build description is wrong (specifically #4). I have nearly the same build, most items are masterwork 8 and I'm getting flattened in the mid-60s pit runs and I'm nowhere near as fast as you are clearing the 75. The other difference, that I'm going to rectify, is that I'm using two 1 handed weapons, I'm going to find a good staff and swap out. -- from the build link, look at #4 GAMEPLAY LOOP Make sure to not use every skill immediately as you want to always have 1 skill available for on demand barrier via the Protection skill tree node1) Lightning Spear on cooldown to apply burn, vulnerable, and stun enemies. 2) Ice Armor on CD for barrier 3) Spam Blizzard and kite enemies through it. 4) Frost Nova when you need vulnerable while Lightning Spear is on CD 5) Spam TP like a psycho * Ice Blades on CD For barrier * Flame Shield as an oh shit button + mana generation via Tibault's Will

Given that most of the damage comes from ice spikes which is a static roll, should one just prioritize other stats like attack speed, crit strike dmg etc and completely ignore the int stat on gear?

Do you think it can do Lilith (with modification?)?

I followed this build with some tweaks and hitting T110 pits but that's as far as I can get on my own! Maybe with some adjustments and full paragon board/re-rolls I can get higher! Nice video and super fun to follow and play with!
