BEST sounding combo, hands down is this: Any kind of headers with a cat delete. Even cheap headers. Then a BORLA mid pipe section which has been discontinued..... Only can find on the used market. Then the iconic Rogue Engineering El Diablo exhaust muffler... The standard version, not the race version. NO mid pipe section killed the S54 rasp as well as the BORLA mid pipe!!! None!! This combo drones a bit on long trips, but that is a small price to pay fore the F1 like sound above 6,000 RPM!!! It goes from a low burble all the way to a high pitched scream. Sounds GREAT. I have never ever heard a better combo for the S54 motor.
Those rasp delete pipes are cats. So, you have catted headers and catted exhaust now. I'm not sure who told you they were rasp delete pipes, but they aren't. Those are HFC pipes. Rasp delete pipes use resonators. The best on the market right now are equal length section 1 pipes. FWIW, I have headers, CPI section 1, stock section 2 and Megan section 3. Sounds great. Deep down low for normal driving and screams after 4k RPM.
Yup i found that out later. My friend is the one who bought it and he thought he was buying the rasp delete pipe when instead he got the catted section 1. I’ll be switching them out eventually lol
