Was browsing RU-vid and randomly caught this video, saw I was featured in here and was very surprised and honored. Glad I could help add some fun to GDQ from the SMW community!
god this stuff is always so emotional to me and I honestly wish I knew why, just seeing a room filled with heartwarming people and more just beyond the screen is so touching. its nice to know the world isn't all bad and that we can still come together for the fun times.
Blindfold speedrun are so mad. The amount of time behind knowing the game that well 😱 could probably get a masters degree in the same time. Edit* Sekiro blindfolded WHAT!?!?
Sekiro has amazing audio and combat has a rhythm to it (I’ve even closed my eyes to counter some attacks because the visuals animations would fake me out). How tf do you navigate Mario 64 when it’s just music, foot scurrying, and “woohoo”s.
@@XShadowWolf1926 lol, fairpoint. But Mario is far more forgiving. A slip up in Sekiro is game over for speedrunning, maybe not so in Mario? Don't know, good point.
@@mappybc6097 That's the HappyHob if I'm not mistaken. He beat all the current Souls Game called the "God Run 2" where he finished DS1,2,3, Demon Souls, Sekiro, and Bloodborne in one sitting without getting hit. He has to restart all over again if he got hit once, and boy he got hit so many times he had to restart from scratch.
@Boco Corwin yup, that intimacy is lost where you could see nearly everyone in the room. Those rooms used felt that they could only fit 50 people. I wish they would move some of the crowd closer to replicate that feel.
My favourite runs in AGDQ are the long run RPGS. They're just so comfy to sit and watch and the commentators are normally great. I agreed with some of these videos but also felt there was too much of a focus on newer AGDQs that it kind of felt like an ad more than anything else.
Hey there zeus toast, is a super entertaining and humble dude. Great speedrunner, also that kaizo mod of mario is beyond difficult. Takes a lot of precise timing and movements. That dude was real good.
Fun video, but the number of times y'all say "this year's AGDQ 2022" or "the most recent AGDQ 2022" is so distracting and so funny to hear coming from a major games journalism outlet
Or you could look at the bright side. Like it or not the site has literal millions of subscribers, many of which might have not even heard of AGDQ before. If this pushes more people to watch, and perhaps donate, to the sponsored charities then I don't mind if GameSpot makes money doing it.
sekiro speedrun was a massive scam, how convenient that it was done with the guy sat at home on his own and not in front of a live audience. Just watch the speedrun, he never stops looking forward at his screen, it's amazing how people think this was genuine
Bruh, it is doable when one of the announcers, LilAggy, have actually done it with a blindfold, screens turned off and cameras recording everything. He patterned his run from Mitchriz and that was why he tried it. LilAggy have done some many outrageous Sekiro runs where he beat the game on a dance pad and a drum set.
The staff gets paid a flat rate by PCF before the event because this is literally their full-time jobs. I can’t find the financials for AGDQ 2022, but PCF spent $260k on AGDQ 2017 and $145k went to the staff of 31 organizers. This controversy was settled years ago.
I see pronouns in something that doesn't require them in the slightest = downvote and unsubscribe. Good job speedrunners I guess, unsubscribed regardless. Not going along with that insane identity politics. Especially in situations where it is redundant. Thanks for politicizing gaming. Nutjobs.
