I’ve got the green sled with the rotor. I’ve got 100 psi on my city water at around 15 gpm. Every other sprinkler gets blown over at some point form the pressure. This sled doesn’t budge. I like them.
Building codes state that 80 PSI is maximum allowed residential water supply pressure; when incoming water is above that as you described (and like I have at my house), you install a pressure reducing valve right after the water meter to get the pressure to a more acceptable range (between 50 and 60 PSI). Pressure set too high can reduce life of the plumbing components (particularly in toilets).
Pete - you mentioned water pressure at your hose end that I think is ridiculously low; residential water pressure is usually at least 40 PSI. Have you tried to measure the pressure at some other garden hose connection, such as the cold water supply for a laundry washing machine or on the drain of a water heater? If you measure higher pressure at one of those points, then the outdoor water supply has some constriction in it, maybe a valve that isn’t fully opened or a washer that is blocking things.
Always great content Pete I've recently purchased a big sprinkler had issues with sprinkler talk to customer service they were very rude wanted me to send in videos of sprinkler wouldn't except the sprinkler back for a exchange or refund said issue was my water pressure never had a issue with any other sprinkler wouldn't recommend Big Sprinkler
Have you removed the spring from that head? Curious how you can just lift it out and push it down without much effort. Makes sense for a head that isn't in the ground.
Hey Pete. I brought all 3 of the sprinklers that you did reviews on. I have good water pressure. It pushes one sprinkler pretty good, but if I try to turn two on at the same time, neither performs that well. My question is; if I got this pump you, do you think I could run two or more sprinklers at the same time?
I believe you would need to put smaller nozzles in the 2 you are trying to run together. That'll get your pressures back up. Or get the booster pump to run the current size nozzles.
I use pine straw as well. It smells great, it mats together which prevents runoff with strong rain, and it breaks down easily to put nutrients in your landscape beds. It is expensive, about $10 a bale. I use about 40 bales a year.
Hey Pete! Have you had any experience with hard water clogging or damaging heads?! Curious as to if hard water would make these types of sprinklers not be as efficient. I had a nelson impact sprinkler and something, don’t know if it was hard water or cheap material, but it stopped working mid way through season last year..
I would love to see a universal sprinkler head. Something where it always does 360, but you can give it a pattern wheel to where it changes the distance at each specific analog angle (including near 0, or closed, as a distance), and the speed adjusts based on flow so that the coverage is the same at every square inch, regardless. Maybe the pattern wheel can be as simple as a piece of plastic you chisel, or 3D print. Someone should design one. Maybe I'll be that someone. lol
buy once, cry once! I have spent hundreds of dollars over the last 20 years on junk sprinklers from big box stores. I just bought this and it's awesome! Will probably be the last one I'll need to buy, unless I buy another one of these for the front yard!
@@shawnspradling1486 you can buy the spikes from store for like 2$ and an adapter for less than a dollar and you can use it. Lol I’ll stick that route.
