I love that even with all the jokes about how Joe was a bad husband and cheated, she would never call him a bad dad and neer denied him the right to see the kids. Even her jokes have standards

ThatAussieGirl I thought so too. Shy is a great, understanding guy. And they were good friends. I have such a hard time believing that he would just fire her without hearing her side of the story or talking to her himself. And the situation was handled so poorly. Even if Shy did want her fired, if Reggie was a good person, he would have let Shy know that she wasn’t the one. That she wasn’t responsible.

I honestly don't think she was right. She hurt Shy, didn't think about she was gonna say before saying it, and now she's paying for her mistake. She still deserves success, obviously, but she committed a mistake and has to live with the consequences.

It’s gotten to the point that I get anxiety whenever she goes on stage because I’m terrified of what she’s going to say... I still laugh but it’s more a nervous chuckle than anything. There’s always at least one screw up each season...

Rachel Brosnahan played an interesting role in a little known show called 'Manhattan' a few years ago. It only ran for 23 episodes, but it was a fantastic period drama about the Manhattan Project to build the bomb. I highly recommend checking it out if you haven't already. I've watched it 3 times and it actually gets better each time.

"He snapped a rubber band in his eye and that was the end of that"......"I could never wear the same outfit every day".....and especially "that's a lot of khaki"...????? Dude, are you serious? There is no way this is supposed to be funny... That stuff would bomb so hard in real life you'd feel embarrassed for the person saying it. Rachel's a good actress and the show is successful and I usually try to keep a positive attitude but this standup material is an insult to ppl. You have absolutely gotta be kidding. There's no joke there. Its almost painful.

i adore the show but for some reason the only things that truly make me laugh are the witty lines delivered by both midge and susie during random dialogue. i can imagine it's hard to write stand-up for a show like this, where the act itself isn't really that important. still, it's hard to imagine midge being actually successful with her performances lol

Probably because the time period? I mean, stand-up has changed a lot. Her stuff is very much like an average dry bar act. Good, funny but nothing amazing.
