Best Starter Whip (Long Version) 

I filmed a shorter version, assuming this long version wouldn’t get as many views. So far this one has more views.

Really appreciate the time & effort you're putting into these videos -am literally binge watching yours (& Nick Schrader's) these past couple months, and am trying to build my first whip at the moment. Thank you (& Nick) for the inspiration!

I've been using diy whips since I was very young. Watching your videos, I can see so many cracks I do. I knew nothing of this as a sport. I do target and multiple cracks for fun, but never had a name for it. I go on whip walks, and I pick flowers with my whips, cut leaves, reach apples or cherries in trees, pick up sticks and throw them. I also had a sled dog team, the sound of my whip was the only thing that would get their attention if there was a fight, or they were distracted. I had always used a hunters lash or version of that. I just ordered my first whip, very exciting, I wish I could afford a second one, a hybrid synthetic target whip. Thanks for your videos, I hope I hurt myself less from your tutelage.

Good advice. I wasted money with an Amazon whip… not beginner friendly, I learned thru your RU-vid videos whip construction, maintenance and how to develope techniques. I fully enjoy the custom hybrid whip you made for me. Thank You for all you do to promote this sport. Well Done Young Man.

I've been cracking whips for 10 years and I still use nylon whips they are fantastic but it's my dream to own a set of leather stockwhips

I'm curious on how a cow whip would do for multi cracking. I would think with a long enough handle and the way it's attached would make it almost like a wooden handled PH

Very useful information. I'm looking to use a whip to deter dogs from attacking me on my mail route. Figured if I can learn to crack it, it would be an effective tool and fun to learn since I can't really bring my throwing knives to work 😬

Thank you Adam! I had a question; I’ve never cracked a stock whip or performance-hybrid, only bullwhips. If I get a performance-hybrid, is my mind going to be blown? When learning to play guitar, it’s better to learn on an acoustic because they’re more difficult to play. Electric guitar becomes easy without even playing one. Would you say it’s a similar situation?

When you say buy a 5 foot high performance whip is that the length of the thong length ?

Good video as always. I don't have a whip. My biggest problem would be: Where to make that "noise" without bothering someone or disturbing animal life. ^^ But i believe it is a lot of fun and a good workout.
