I just bought a whip from a store in red river and started snapping it but I only did like 3 good snaps and then I watched this and realized it’s more technical.
C.s. Lewis I accidentally removed the comment. But for a 12 footer it’s going to be tough because it’s so long like over hand cracks and side arm cracks are ideal. But a fix would be how long is the fall? Your fall should be around 24 inches or even 30 inches. Cracker length should be around 8 to 10 inches.
Good teacher. Showing the technique slowly, repeating it from different angles, and emphasizing that it’s about practicing the right motion not achieving a crack immediately. Thanks.
It’s easy for the pros to say it’s easy but slowing it down and actually understanding what they are doing is what I wanted to show. Thank you for commenting Debra
This LeftHander just subscribed Thanks Buddy. We sell Whips at my job and I need to learn and show my coworkers what is. It shall be accomplished through you.
Funny stuff at the end. The cracking audio needs to be louder , like that first vid, remember how impressive it sounded> its just not coming thru on my computer. Great vid Justin. Keep up the good work.
Yes it will be hard at first. Be sure to start with the 6 ft one. Just try not to let the whip get to much slack. Cattlemens crack over and over. I wouldn't try the ten footer yet, that one is much slower and it will hurt more if you get hit.
Just stumbled upon this channel while trying to learn about whips, any chance we're going to get any whip making tutorials? I feel like there's a shortage of quality whip making lessons, especially for stockwhips.
I am actually going to be making tutorials in the future here and stock whip is on the list. I would like you to check out nicks whip shop his current method of how to make a bullwhip. Excellent video!
Lol yeah you will find out which hand is the best. If your interest in purchasing one message me on Facebook or email me would be good and we can go over the prices and styles

You might not see this but do you recommend starting with a shorter or longer whip? I currently only have an 8 foot long leather whip, should I learn with that or get a smaller one?
I had a bowl whip when I was a kid I remember pulling back on a hundred miles an hour and going forward as fast as I could to get it to crack.... It worked for a short period of time until I cracked myself in the back of the shoulder with it. Broke the skin and taught me a lesson lol
I have a 12 foot whip with a wooden handle. Bought it on a vacation in Mexico. Not sure if it’s actually a good whip but hopefully it’s good enough to do these tricks
Usually just heavier and allow for the time to crack. 8 foot whip is slow compared to 4 foot that is light and fast. So you are new to whips, longer whips are just slower and heavier. Once you learn how to whip one, the cracks are much louder so. Hopefully this helps ;)
You are awesome. I have a question, ive always been fascinated by bullwhips but have only had cpl elcheapos that i could not crack. Id love to have a good 8 to 10 ft bullwhip but im on fixed income. Also i need to get into SOMETHING, ive been fighting cancer for over 3 yrs and have no energy, i nerd something to get me outside and moving. Please help where can i get an inexpensive GOOD whip capable of a loud crack??? Thank you and God bless
@@jjhallswhips4411 im on fixed income but i can get together between 30-40 bucks but that probably wont get a very good one. I love those white ones you use 2 at a time, they seem very easy to crack. And is there a way to make them crack louder?
@@jjhallswhips4411 id love to have a hybrid o what are they called??? The hybrid for multiple cracks and target cracks, like i said im on fixed income so i can maybe come up with 30-40 50 max i know a whip like i want which is high quality ill never be able to afford but i really need something to get me outside and doing something. Cancer is tearing me down no energy and chemo just makes it worse but im fighting best i can and i always wanted to get into whip cracking just hoping i can find some help. @@jjhallswhips4411 ouch. Lol i say they are worth that honestly. I bet you cant make me a good set fer 100 bucks can you? I know you dont know me and i shouldnt put you on the spot. I apologise. Thanks any way for your time and for your videos. God bless you and keep up the awesome videos.
I’m interested in learning this. Thanks for the lesson! Have you been doing this since childhood? Do you have competitions, or is it a livestock skill first and foremost? I can see where it could be for personal protection!
as someone that has no experience with wildlife id imagen if a bear or cougar would show up being able to use a whip like this would be a really sollid way of scaring it of ? perhaps even keep a pack of wolves at distance
@@jjhallswhips4411 the Belmont family (known for their preferences of whips) from the Castlevania series. Everyone who watched wants to know how to use a whip for this
