Amazing Ne-waza video. 👍🏻👏🏼 Referee was sleeping. The blue judoka fell unconcious since 3:32 😱 it took about 7 seconds for the referee to realize that she was unconcious, and announce the IPPON.
Love your vids and your take on the current Judo scene. Funny bit at the end describing the female judoka going unconscious. "I don't know when she went out but she certainly is now" ... .. lol
Good compilation. It is very good you included my favourite huizinga roll by Jessica Klimkat against very quality opponent. And yes she finished this contest by ashi gatame technique. She controlls opponent's arm the all time therefor she has not problem with first opponent's escape. After second roll she started osaekomi ushiro kesa gatame again and at 0:52 she add ashi gatame with it (she stretchs right leg and elevates left knee at the same time). Then opponent have to tap immediately.
Do these refs even practice judo? There is a pattern since the Grand Slam Paris 2023. Some of these refs are extremely inexperience and don’t know what’s going on the ground :/
@@Fqq69337 Sadly this is modern Judo in many places. Ground game gets completely cut off unless its about holding a pin - or escaping it, usually by going to turtle. I am still baffled by the fact that 99% of Judo players have absolutely no guard, no retention, no recovery, nothing.
I just added another vid with a sankaku-jime. I will do something on tate-shiho in the future. By rib crusher, do you mean the type of pinning where they pull the bottom of the jacket across the stomach?
I have noticed most Ref's in Judo are the worst to stop the fights when somebody is choked out, they need to educate them to check the opponent if he or she is out and not just standing like a fool looking from far away
Funny how judo refs always seem to be more focused on looking good in their suits, rather than looking if the person getting choked is still there. They NEVER bother to move closer, maybe get down, or walk around the competitors if necessary. No they always have to hover high above the action, preferrably at the other end of the mat and if the competitors are in a bad angle, well then it is their problem!
It's interesting how BJJ has now directly influenced modern ne waza in Judo, through emphasis, time limits for ne waza and styles of attack. I trained Judo in 1980s and early 1990s and the ne waza applications often looked fairly different than today.
@@m5a1stuart83 Hi, yes, it definitely has influenced it and in some Judo tournmanets now, time on ground is extended. Many Judoka cross-train in BJJ skill-sets. As I said, I trained Judo pre-UFc/BJJ and groundwork/ne-waza, most due to time limits and rules, was much more basic in application.
@@zartic4life The lack of time limits or in sport BJJ, extended time limits, and the early emphasis on refinement through prize fighting changed it much from Judo.I trained Judo in the early 80s through to mid-1990s and ne waza strategy, most of the time, a few seconds given, was different. Strategies and tactics from guard, etc. that never existed began to develop in probably the late 1970s with more people practicing in Brazil. I trained with Judoka from Korea, Poland, the U.S., and France and never saw or experienced most of what constituted to systemization of techniques with in BJJ, and strategies and tactics. There were basic essences and early BJJ was very similar albeit with fighting applications. BJJ cross-training started in Judo, at least here, in the late 1990s, and BJJ refined the ne waza of many Judoka who only had a cursory techniques. Now, there are many Judoka who cross-train in BJJ groundwork.
@@turntablesrockmyworld9315 im not sure what tactics youre refering to and what refinement? Watch some Kosen (ruleset) Judo. Newaza is an extension (not seperate like BJJ) of tachi in other words your position will be very different than in bjj where almost always in somones guard. Not a great place to be as Khabib illustrated (ground and pound) something Judo refers to as a "last resort after a failed attempt" as it should be in any self defence scenario. My point is BJJ has nothing over Judo when it comes to ground techniques and the tactics used are a result of BJJ rulesets and lack of stand up. The ground game that Judo implements is far more effective in any serious confrontation instead of the playful "flow", jumping guard and butt scooting you see in BJJ. Not a smart tactic in any real world scenario. Just compare the speed and intensity of Judo newaza vs BJJ. I'll pick the first one for any combat situation. I'll ignore the fact BJJ has almost no stand up something that is critical for any self defence and will allow for more effective newaza if necessary. If I throw you I wont be in your guard I'll either be in side control, on top, or on your back. Then you can use newaza to finish not play transition and tactical games with your opponent something BJJ people cant seem to wrap their heads around.
最後の動画は、最初アゴを絞めているので厳密にいえば「白」の反則。 運用としては、道着がアゴにかかっているのが見えた時点で「待て」をかけるのが妥当です。 しかし、もっとひどいのは3:35でダラッと脚が伸びて落ちていることがわかるのに そのまま試合を続けている点です。その後役10秒間落ちた状態で絞め続けられていました。 審判は選手の安全を第一にジャッジして欲しいものです。 Loses consciousness at 3:35. After that, it was continued to be strangled for about 10 seconds. The referee is unaware of it.Terrible(*_*;
Wow, these women were straight up gangsta - quickly seizing an opening (submitting) & ending the match with top notch precision - especially that last choke out.
I wish submissions in gi BJJ were more aggressive like in Judo. Not every gi competitor of course, but easily the majority of matches, regardless of organization, seem to play out like a deadlock of just holding collar and sleeve grips with very little action. Even in the Mundials this unfortunately has been the case.
@@ermelemoon7104 Sorry, I meant aggressive in terms of willingness to attempt them at a greater frequency, not aggressive by simply muscling/forcing a submission without any degree of control.
It's a differnt mindset in judo the best sub is the fastest you only have a small window 3 seconds or less to even try for a submission before ref stand you up and in judo you can not be passive you always have to be tring to win or you will get a shido for being passive.
@@andersnielsen6044 The idea of the sport isn’t to kill your opponent dummy. She was unconscious for 7 or 8 seconds still getting choked and the referee did not stop the choke. No, that’s not the point of the sport.
@@nn22939 the participants are only focusing on winning their match. It seems that any humanitarian sensibility goes out the window once they start grappling, so it’s up to the ref to protect any Judokas from serious injuries but that’s not the case because the refs all appear to be incompetent.
1980's judo International organisations decided to make judo more watchable for non judoka eg the Olympics with the belief it would become more popular. Yes they destroyed 100 years of history and organic Judo development for that reason. I switched to bjj and mma because I learned my judo in the 80's from guys who in the 60's were taught by guys who learned in the 40's. It wasn't so long ago in a generational sense.
I don't feel like it's evolved, it's gone back to the roots and started using all of its techniques again. One of the problems with combat sports that have olympic representation is they get watered down into ONLY the techniques that consistently score points at the olympic level. It happened with judo, karate and TKD.
Bjj people do not understand the intesty of judo from standing to the ground the speed the strength sometimes you have no time to defend why didn't royce defend the Ezekiel choke from yoshida
@@designbookInc judo is very Quick and powerfull. Your arm can get locked up before you have time to react. Sometimes you expect a hold and then suddenly they got your arm
Os médicos ficam assistindo a luta sem prestar atenção no que está acontecendo. A judoca inconsciente no chão e a demora absurda no atendimento.LAMENTAVEL
How fucking slow of a reaction from that moron referee to attend to that judoka who was unconscious... Her neck was also twisted in a very bad way, i hope she didn't break it.. Hope she's alright!
Yes she was alright very quickly. It wasn't as dangerous as looked it. Her neck is alright too. When Tori (attacker) use this technique she trying to tight up opponent's collar around opponent's neck as here. It is ok. Uke (defender) can tap and Tori have to finish attack. But here Uke is out before tap. You can see how Tori showed it to referee at 3:37 and she loosens opponent's collar little bit. But referee doesn't react and she forced tight again...Problem is referee's behaviour he could call ippon earlier and to finish match immediately.
@@judojudo3808 : I didn't even see when tori showed that she was already out at 3:37... but i noticed how her body became soft right away and i knew was out... The referee's shocking incompetence forced tori to continue to choke out even longer after she already had been out.... That could of been quiet dangerous and every second counts and that idiot would of been responsible. I would allow that guy to referee any judo matches of any level or any other sports ever again.
@@marlon1171 Yes Tori (white judoka) is comunicating obviously at 3:37 with referee and left hand shows him that opponent is out. You look this moment better because she feels that opponent is out.
3:33 This stupid referee doesn't know if a player is knocked out. Doctors are being called without even thinking about securing a fainting player's airway.
what's with the bewildered bjj practitioners here. it's just ne waza. it's even on the name of the channel! oh and that one bewildered judoka trying to get at bjj because this is "no throws only gracie bullshit". come on
