Not long ago we made an episode about the best turbo cars that you can find for under 10k. Well, today we want to talk about some supercharged cars out there as well. From the first generation New Mini Cooper to a Cobalt SS and even a Toyota Previa, there is something in this list to spark anyone's curiosity. Since you included the TC; you could add the 9th gen corolla, 1st gen matrix, and the pontiac vibe. All three came with factory supercharger options.

I've had an 06 Cobalt SS for a while and doing the work yourself and putting on performance parts, you can push 300 on the stock block. Highly recommend it.

Don't shy away from looking at the SLK 230 Kompressor, it's straight up a supercharged Miata! Ive own one currently I've had zero issues and it's a hard top convertible, with decent enough specs! Absolutely love the car!

C230k with the 2.3 liter m111 and the C200k 2 litre m111 kompressor engine is also a good choice. Fun cars!

How you gonna leave out any car with the 3800 Supercharged V6 engines? My guy, those are dirt cheap. Grand Prix GTP can be had for $3k all day. I got the series III supercharged V6 in my firebird, with headers smaller pulley, and a tune, and it's *probably* making 250+ wheel horsepower.

R53 minis are actually decently reliable, do the recommended 100k maintence and your good for another 100k with no issues

If you want something a little newer, and a little more expensive, check out the C7 Audi A6 (2012-2018). Similar to the B8/8.5 s4's. Easily pick one up for 15-20k. Stock, they make 310hp, but with just a tune you're looking around 415 on 91 octane. Great interior. Super comfortable. You can make them very quick. Solid choice.

Cobalt SS engine was an LSJ engine originally with the supercharger. Its the same engine in the saturn ion red line. Only the Saturn's were thr first to run this engine and the cobalt SS did it a year or two later.

The differences from the various mini engines are these: First gen: The 1.6 NA/supercharged and the 1.4 (just a down sized version of the 1.6 for the one version) made in collaboration with Chrysler Second gen: 1.6 (THP also called prince) from Peugeot with turbochargers Third generation: All from bmw with the 2.0 4 cyl and the 1.5 with 3 cyl Ps: Actually the engineers from Rover said that it wasn’t necessary to make a new engine for the 1st gen mini because they had a good range of engine from 1.1 to 1.6 for small cars but for some reasons they decided to develop a new engine…

Grand Prix gtp 97-03 came supercharged fwd with 240hp stock they go for like $500 bucks I mean it’s a Grand Prix but hey it’s supercharged and easy to modify for a beginner but my favorite from the list would be the cobalt with the Lsj supercharged cause well I have one lol

I own a Mini (non s) and ive replaced clutch, head gasket, and my transmission went out and im rebuilding that this weekend. But the reliability is indeed a trade off because they are really fun cars even if they arent the S models.

My Audi has a supercharger but you can’t really hear it, unless I’m in a parking lot building. Anyways to Make it louder without really messing with the engine since it’s still under warranty ?

stg Cobalts and Coopers are underappreciated asf Edit: *LSJ not LNJ. LNF was the 2.0 turbo, and the sedan SS was a naturally aspirated 2.4. Also, also; the R53s engine was manufactured by Tritec in Brazil, the rest of the car was BMW produced.
