Today I go over what I consider to be the best support weapons in Battlefield 1. Twitch Streaming: / matimi0 Twitter: / matimi0 Facebook: / matimi0 Subscribe: / matimi0 Music: CanCan - Offenbach
William Garcia Peek a window BLAM!!! sniper. Turn the corner RATATATA!!! assault. respawn, turn the corner BOOM!!! tank. etc. etc. etc. and fucking etc.
William Garcia I also don't know what he is talking about. I honestly don't think that MGs need nerf. They're fine. Also considering that support has modello which is ridiculously op.
G Turpin They are easily the most poweful situational weapons in game though. And it isnt hard to get in a position yourself that excells. People just dont understand the concept of creating those situations.
A good way to make the support weapons more viable could be to massively increase the suppression effect for belt fed weapons. It would literally serve a support purpose and make them useful. It would also be realistic to their real life purpose. For non-belt fed weapons I dont really know what you could change. If they act like assault rifles then that might just be their sole purpose.
Radovan Ostrodický Keep in mind that this was WW1 most of the LMGs that had 100+ magazines were way to big and heavy to carry. 99% of the LMGs with 100+ mag cap were mounted, either on planes, turrets, etc.
Hey Matimi0, what would u think if the support class got 1 full magazine of K bullets to help take out tanks and vehicles? Each bullet putting out 2 damage or so depending on the clip size. Sunday Mailbox please !! Haha
Chris Chavez no, if anything assualt needs a vehicle damage buff. support has the limpet charges which are already op and by far the best infantry weapon to take out vehicles.
The BAR, The Browning Automatic Rifle, was chambered in the US Military cartridge of .30-06, which had an effective range of 1000m. That round is extremely powerful, which also the BAR, loved by those who carried it, was difficult to control when firing full auto. The BAR shared the same round that the 1903 Springfield Rifle used. Most of the MGs in the Support Class also fired powerful rifle rounds shared by the Bolt-Guns of the Scout/Sniper Class. So of course the MGs should see a damage buff.
I think the Storm version is just right. I find the suppression to have an annoying sight and the bipod is often in the way of things. 200 bullets is nice, but in 99% of the situations having 100 is already enough
Martinspire the sight is indeed annoying but you can get used to it. When on the bipod at close range don't ads. Heck don't ads for close range even when running about. Then you can get used to it. The sight is really good for the bipod at medium to long range though.
I think the reason why the support class feels so weak is because they've given the weapons realistic(ish) characteristics and people aren't used to them yet.
Consider as well the second primary role of a light machine gun: In addition to suppression, on which you've lightly touched, the heavy gunner in a squad provides area denial to the enemy, which, in a defensive role, works to halt an enemy advancement, and, offensively, provides, for other squad members, areas of guaranteed safety as to maintain momentum in an attack
I bought the Madsen right after I watched this video and it completely changed the way I play the support class. so far it is the most effective weapon I've used for that class
Hey Mat. What do you think about slightly nerfin the AA guns against planes? I feel like the disable mechanic is way too devestating against pilots of any skill and just ruins the fun of flying overall. Your thoughts?
One thing I've enjoyed with bf1's support class, that the Lewis gun suppressive seems a very viable choice for hitting some longer range shots, and also how any version of the madsen feels like an assault rifle and is very fun.
MG15 with a Bipod you get 200 rounds and my mate can take out snipers from across the map when he's looking out a window or is prone. For the larger maps like Sinai desert the bipod is a must have option but in the tighter close maps where theres a lot of up close fights he uses the light variant.
It feels like DICE are trying to find this awkward balance which isn't working. Maybe they should just make the LMGs awful when run+gunning but amazing when in bipod.
thats already the case. the issue is sniping being too easy and often there being little to no cover. most of them cant hit the side of a moving barn but generally, you stop, you die.
take the one with bipod, im using it too! best sight ever and veeery good accuarcy, just lay down everytime u see and enemy at middle range, in close combat just shoot from hips^^
That would never happen plus it's a bad idea. Those guns are very important guns to the game. They are really the only SMGs in the game. You just want to remove an entire class of guns?
I was playing bf 1 and I got killed by a mortar and I was like dam and finished the game next game I meet the same guy and his boyfriend using fucking mortars so me being me I picked up a mortar and instantly got about 10 kills in 1 game and I'm level 2 like wtf dice
As a support main, I wouldn't mind a buff. But the thing is it doesn't need one. With correct positioning and map knowledge this class thrives. I hope people realize that
Had my best games with the support class.... The MG15 suppressive to lock down corridors, the Benet-Mercie as kind of assault rifle. Mortar and Limpet are nice gadgets too.
Most of the time I am running around, and when enemies go into cover or we cant push a chokepoint I get my mortar, get 5+ kills and start running again. Repeat this and get 50 kills every game.
I think the biggest problem is that support was designed to be a more defensive kit. It excels when you dig in with a squad and suppress the enemy while resupplying your team. Problem is, most people never stop attacking.
this may just be me, or the fact that I'm playing on PS4 rather than pc, but the support class plays absolutely just fine. any buff to the class, especially the weapons, will make the support class pretty OP.
Hey man, I mostly play support and if they keep the weapons as they are and give the support class a slight bump in front-facing armor it would fix the issue. basically enough armor to allow the support player to get off a few rounds against the assault class.
am a cod player and switch to bf1. i been struggling with support guns for a while but after watching and trying out the BAR M1918 storm i have been playing very good since 24/6 thanks
Is the BAR reload correct? I mean he pulls the bolt back and forth when the gun is empty then puts the mag in, unless the gun works by open bolt or is cocked differently?
The Lewis Gun is surprisingly the one I've been enjoying the most. Yes, it is the starter gun, yet nothing I've unlocked (save for the BAR, maybe) comes close to it for me. I don't know why, but there's something that just works about it.
I've been using the mg-15 NA Suppressive and i'm on the top of the leader boards a lot, playing support is a difficult task for sure, but if you can play to each of the support classes weapons strengths then you will do amazing! I've put in just under 70 hours so far and I do still think support needs a small buff to the weapons and gadgets but like you said their going to need to tip toe around this to make the right changes without angering the community, Matt do u think the support class needs a little more damage on certain weapons, some more accuracy or maybe some more useful gadgets for dealing with tanks etc.. live to hear some more thoughts on this from you!
They should increase suppression effects for LMGs to allow the support role to do what it should, and that's SUPPORT. Stay behind front lines, suppress the enemy so teammates can push, achieve victory.
Perhaps increasing the suppression from LMGs is a viable solution. As you said increasing damage or accuracy is too much. But Suppression might give alittle more of an edge over distance and it also plays into the role of the support class which is to lay down cover and resupply
I honestly love the mg15 suppressive and the bar telescopic just because of the scope and the bipod because of the accuracy those are the best in my opinion
The best way to introduce a "suppression" mechanic in a shooting game is to punish death with EXP loss. That way, players will fear dying and run into cover if shot at.
Mat, do you think they should so something similar to the sweet spot mechanic to the lmgs? That would make it so they aren't OP close up, but they fit their role in med distance.
I find the mg15 suppressive pretty good when you can find a sneaky bi pod spot. Pretty much negates the medium range inaccuracy and low damage by putting ammo down range like crazy.
