Not bad for summer and parking in the sun. Gets pretty hot which triggers the AC cabin to come on and thus, drain the battery.

Roof glass does not transmit something like 97% of the heat radiation. Now the front windshield and side windows definitely let heat into the car. That’s where you need. The shades when parked.

Well .... I love Teslas, but ..... in my very old Peugeot, is from before the first Tesla, nearly, I touch a button and the glass roof is covered by a curtain looking just like ceiling covering. 508 SW, window in the full length of the 5.2 meter long car. No hassle, no magnets, no parts missing.

Tesla should just get rid of a glass roof. Its just bad and more expensive. Or make roof shade that roll in and out with a push of a button. I had that on my Peugeot 206 Roland Garros edition like 25 years ago.

Tesla glass roof is actually quite good. Glass roof is lower and improves aerodynamics while making cabin feel larger.

I agree completely! The glass roof is cool EXCEPT in warm sunny weather. A built-in retractable shade is really needed.

What a fantastic sunshade! I hope that I can get it into USA for a 2018 Model 3. I’ll check it out. Nope, 2021 forward. I love the easy magnetic in and out installation. I will have to keep looking 👀

have Peugeot 5008 and it has rolled roof sunshade. but if I would have Tesla someday, this is the thing

Yes, also all of our 3008 since 2009 had a large glass roof with all electric shades and even shades in the back doors like only on some Maybach or big Mercedes. That was very clever but seemingly a costly detail for which pragmatic Tesla has no feeling. Today my Kia EV6 was ordered specifically without any unnecessary sunroof you never open in hot summer or glass roof. Only our Fiat 500e also has that feature but with a manual shade already as serial feature. But also here it’s nice to have for better sight on traffic lights etc. but no must have!
