In our humble opinion, the best thing about visiting Carlsbad is that even after you’ve thoroughly explored its fabulous namesake cave system and national park, there are still a myriad of other attractions to experience.
Often referred to as the ‘the pearl of the Pecos’, Carlsbad, New Mexico, surrounded by the Chihuahuan desert, is a picturesque city that is famous for being an outdoor-lovers utopia. From waterskiing to hiking, cycling, and birdwatching, there are literally an endless number of things to do in the great outdoors in and around Carlsbad.
For those interested in learning about the local animal life, you can always swing over o the Living Desert Zoo, which is home to majestic creatures like bison and mountain lions. History buffs will appreciate Carlsbad for its many unique museums.
