On the splash guard, I use a small toothbrush and a little bit of scouring powder you can unscrew the little lid part and scrub it real good and they come completely clean. They do stain, but they come clean.
Just bought 3 Carter Fellow Mugs - Matte White ( special $ 15.00 each ) which I thought was an excellent price All 3 arrived inCarter Move Mug Fellow boxes 12 oz and no dents . I based my purchase off of another Y tuber travel channel. Your review is the most specific and comprehensive and and answered the specifics I was looking for as well as peaked my interest in the other mugs you reviewed. I did customize mine with a silicon sleeve with verticale grips since the outside is kind of slippery and a heavy drop might crack the ceramic interior . Also it is BPA free, the inside guide says no oven,no dishwasher, and no microwave. Hand wash. Use only soft sponge. No course brushes as can scratch exterior or interior ceramic. While not in use store Carter with lid off to prevent unwanted smells. No metal stirring utensils . Rotate splash guard if gets stuck to remove. No children use. I have another ceramic interior mug but no metal which is microwaveable . This is not. Says 12 hrs hot- 24 hrs cold. Heat - LockDouble Wall Vacuum. Leak proof and it fits my Subaru Outback cup holder without rattle or tipping over. You are correct the splash guard and thin lip prevents that dribble of coffee or tea that sometimes gets on your clothes Designed in San Francisco - Made in China. Mine has a Blue Bottle logo on it since it was made for for the Blue Bottle Coffee Co - Maybe surplus inventory since some Amazon sell with colors charge up to $ 40. Carter Move website might have discounts at times. Also if you use loose tea like me that strainer keeps the tea leaves behind when drinking which is a nice feature . It will also stay secure ( the strainer - drip guard ) if you use tea bags.
Have to agree fully, this mug is the best mug I've ever used. usually I get tired of one or another but time and time again this mug gets used. It even fell over in the car today and rolled around, no mess!
Great review! Dropped my Fellow Carter Move Mug while walking my dog and the lid cracked after the first time. Caution for the clumsy like myself!! Kept the coffee impressively hot for the 3 days I had it before dropping it. Would love a review comparing "drop test durability".
This is cool. I personally like the Yeti 10 oz rambler. It’s nice and small and just fits perfectly in my backpack 🎒 outer pocket and it’s small enough to go with me and keeps my drinks hot for a while. Long enough to enjoy 10 oz of coffee.
Nice review. Believe it or not my favorite travel mug came from an impulse purchase at Starbucks! I'm sure I'll never find it again! I think the real test for any mug is how it fits your cup holder ... as you pointed out.
Haha yes. Especially this year when I am driving a lot more than taking the public transportation, little things like "cup holder fit" suddenly becomes priority lol
Good thing that Fellow fixes mistakes easily. I used to use Seattle Coffee Gear for mail-order products. They don't do anything to resolve their problems. I use Fellow directly now. Merry Christmas
Dude!!! I wish people would do reviews the way you do!!! Omg soooo comprehensive!!! I’m very pleasantly surprised, you answered questions I hadn’t thought of with this. I will definitely order this, but hope the packaging was changed to something a bit more protective. Subscribed and will definitely check out more of your videos. I sure hope you stay this comprehensive and through. Props to you. 🎊🎊😎😎
@@XICups you’re most welcome, it’s quite genuine. I enjoy watching your other videos as well, it’s very clear you take time and are very well prepared for your reviews and videos. Seriously keep up the great work. 😎😎
Cool thermos. I'm looking for one right now but I don't like drinking from a steal lip so I think I'll have to keep looking. Obviously this is just personal preference.
Ahh I see. Avoiding steel lips will definitely limit your options quite a bit. If keeping the beverage warm is not a must have function, then the keep cup could be a good option to look into.
Thanks! If pouring latte art is important to you, then the keep cup will be the easiest to pour in. As it is much wider and more shallow than the other two. The Zojirushi and the Fellow will be too tall to properly pour anything. Hope this helps =]
Hi, thanks for the review. I have the fellow carter move and taste gets bitter everyday, even if I wash it with baking soda. Do you have any suggestions?
I purchased the Everywhere first and found that it did not fit the cupholder in my Versa. I realized that the Move also existed and just got one and there's really no downsides imo to getting the Move over the Everywhere. I guess if you like a really wide mouth mug then that would be one reason. But the size and splash guard of the Move make it much more functional without any downsides. It also comes in 8 oz. which is the perfect size for me.
Yeah I agree with you. The most common reason why people get the everywhere is because it will accommodate an Aeropress and/or a smaller pour over unit. But for me fitting in the cupholder and keeping warm is the more important factor. Hence why this is the perfect mug for me at the moment.
The everywhere mug is slightly bigger and wider, so if you are not concerned with using it in your car then the everywhere might be slightly more comfortable to hold. Since they made the Move mug tall and skinny in order to fit the car cup holder better. Last but not least, the Everywhere won't come with the splash guard. Hope this helps =]
If you mean to put the v60 directly on the Move mug, it wouldnt work, the opening would be too narrow. I wouldnt recommend brewing directly into a thermos due to stability concerns anyways. I would recommend brewing into a separate carafe or container.
No, not that I notice. I rinse them out after use, while there might be some scent left over after the wash, I haven't had issue with it remaining in the mug past a few days. Definitely don't affect the next drink as some other mugs that I have used.
How easy is this to hand wash? Was considering getting this for portability over the Everywhere mug, but the Everywhere has a wider mouth. Please let me know! Thanks.
It's actually more or less the same, I would recommend using the brush wand thing for either one of these mugs. If you aren't concerned about the cupholder issue, then both of these will work for you. The Everywhere is slightly shorter and have a wider mouth so some people prefer that.
I honestly don't get why people like things like a zojirushi thermos. Why do people like burning their lips when they take a sip of coffee on their morning commute. Do people really drink 12oz of coffee over a 6 hour period? Lol just drink your coffee, don't preserve it like it's the last cup on earth. The ceramic mugs are the way to go.
Thank you for your suggestion, I try not to post prices in the video as very often they go on sale (especially on Amazon, given different colors can be priced differently) however I will try to at least leave a price range in the future =] Thank you for tuning in!!
@@XICups get the powder and add a little water to make a paste then rub it in on the stainless steel. The pre-mixed/liquid version of Barkeeper's Friend doesn't seem to work as well as the powder imo :)
It's designed for travel, but when you are in the car you can leave the lid off and the splash guard does a very good job at preventing spills while in the cup holder.
Nice, honest review. I agree with your points (owner here) and may suggest Kinto’s travel tumbler as being an equal contender. I love both of them. Keep up the good content!
@@ezra420420 Do you mean the Fellow or the Keepcup? They do make larger volumes if that's what you are looking for. Not sure if I misunderstood your comment.
try vinegar on the stained steel (if the parts are, in fact, made of stainless steel). whenever I wash my All Clad stainless steel pans, a strange residue is left behind. a small amount of vinegar gets rid of it. Add perhaps a tablespoon of vinegar and a bit of water, shake, and rinse with water. Another issue might be that these parts are not dishwasher safe. Did you wash them in the dishwasher?
