We just purchased a N.L. 10-2 for full time rving with 4 cats. We are putting it on a 2023 ram pro. Crew cab . 4x4 We opted for the 84 inch cab and chassis and a C&M skirted flat bed that we are having singled out in the future. We had our ram built with the pro option and had a 5 kw generator hooked up to the pto. We are also having a 50 gallon auxiliary fuel tank mounted on the bed foward of the camper on the left side of the bed and an extra 50 gallon fresh water tank mounted on right side of the bed foward of the camper . We installed a single 200 ah lithium battery in the battery compartment on the camper along with another 2 in one of the tool boxes on the skirted flatbed. Videos of the truck will soon be up on boondocking america channel.

I own one of these a 10-2 EXCD and got it in 2015. It sits in my SRW F350. I am out 5-8 months of the year full time off grid in the Rocky Mountains boondocking 98% of the time. I have taken mine over some of the roughest terrain out there...deserts, mountain passes, you name it and it has held up like a champ. The only things that have gone wrong are things I caused...raking off the vent caps and running light lenses hitting trees and branches. Everything else works likes it's supposed to and I never had an issue. I do maintain things...I reseal every year or so and check to make sure everything works like it's supposed to. If you have a problem you can call the factory and they actually pick up the phone or answer emails. That being said, if you break something it is expensive to replace, but the products are very good quality. The windows for example are made in Europe and have to be ordered so if you loose one by accidently leaving it unfastened or open and drive down the road expect to pay anywhere from $500 to $1000 to replace it. I have camped in weather that's in the 20's and the camper stays warm as does the basement area. It's a great well made camper and if you plan on doing a lot of camping and will keep it than it is worth the money. If you are only going to be camping two weeks out of the year....you may want to look at something less expensive. I have a ton of experience in this thing so if you have any questions just ask, happy to give an honest answer.

If you have a problem, good luck, even if you pay 75 thousand cash. The owner was rude the dealership gave us the run around so we sold it. You can give a good warranty but the warranty is only as the company that stands behind it.

Dealing with Keith is enough to turn anyone off to a NL I mean this owner is rude and the buyer is never right. The camper over all is nice but the designers are in the ice age. The AC is almost not enough and has to be replaced with a quieter one. Good grief, one expensive truck camper.

@@brockcochran3304 Just little things but we are experience truck camper people. But a large amount of condensation on the middle seemed odd and I wanted them to check it out. DO NOT USE, the truck camper dealer from Apex on anything. They charge tax when others don't and they would not return my calls or my text or my e-mails. So we sold it and bought a Lance. The unit itself is primitive too. Long story.

I went full time last May with a 9-6 LE, and we had a decent shot of -10° C weather this winter. Supplemental electric heat was available and was used, but the propane furnace on its own did a good job, but it also ran a fair bit too. The main thing to consider is heating the basement area as it is only supplied with heat when the furnace is on. Im considering a fan mod to supply warm air from the cabin to the basement and use electric heat when its cold. Otherwise its been a great first year with this rig!

Yeah, in 30 degrees, I notice the heater only came on 4 times during the night. But the vents around the bed, no hot air came out. I don't THINK this camper would do in 0 degree weather but I could be wrong. I'm looking at the Bigfoot. Do you know anything about them?

@roberts.1400 3 месяца назад
Love most everything about the Arctic Fox except no Azdel ... Also, AF uses TPO for their roof membrane instead of PVC which is a significantly more resilient product ... (The Cirrus is made of all composite materials and the roof is made of aluminum) (Lance uses PVC for their roofs and Azdel sidewalls) Just watched a video of a couple who's 2 year old 90K Host truck camper nearly fell apart from de-lamination and wood rot in the cab over bed area... One drop of water intrusion and the process begins. Even if you get up on the roof twice per year all you need to do is miss a single pinhole and the delam and rot will start, by the time you find it it'll be a significant expense to fix ...

Change a set of batteries in one of these campers and THEN tell me it's the best camper on the planet. Turn the loudest AC in the summer then get back to me, especially when the cold air doesn't hit the bed directly. Get a problem and call Keith the owner and sees how nice he is. Ohhhhh, on the dry bath models, try and stretch your arm to to the toilet roll holder. NL is a good camper but NOT the best on the planet. I just sold my 2023 10.2 dry bath model at a loss because of several reasons I didn't mention.

Hi Bill, what would you say a better camper is? Bigfoot?
@horsetrader1991
@horsetrader1991 9 месяцев назад
Honestly I would never say that Bigfoot is better than NL because it would not be fair to NL. I've owned a NL and I should point out they are good in cold weather. (temp was 49 degrees) Vent in the bed did NOT blow any air out. The workmanship is good on the cabinets in the NL. The floor did have a few soft spots which bothered me but I never knew if it there was a problem. D&H would not comment on this. The 60x80 queen bed was nice, very roomy. I might buy a Bigfoot yet. I hear they are better insulated but I can't confirm that. I do know that access to underneath is important and Bigfoot has that it appears. NL is completely sealed and that bothered me. Water damage is one of the worse things for truck campers. Bigfoot steps are a problem. NL has a nice but challenging steps. So these are my honest opinions. I would own another NL again but Keith was not nice to my wife and she'll never own another one she says. We paid 75 thousand CASH at D&H in NC taxes and everything. and they gave us the run around when we thought we had a leak and a few other problems. REALLY! Anyway these are my thoughts and my experience with the NL truck camper.
