Years ago everyone was driving Ford Expeditions. But in the last 10 years or so families who were buying the Expedition are now buying the F150 because the interior is the same as the Expedition but now you get the benefits of having a pick up truck with the open bed in the back. We are such a family. We bought our first Expeditions in 1999 (a his & a hers). We purchased 4 each between 1999 & 2011 and they were great vehicles. But in 2015 we stopped purchasing Expeditions and started purchasing the crew cab F150s. We love them & haven’t looked back.
Foresure, I use to see them on the road along with other SUV's. Not as much anymore. The F150 and similar 1500 trucks definitely have more uses than a traditional SUV.
Yep. When the wife and I began shopping for a family vehicle, we'd assumed an SUV. We went through the entire Toyota lineup from RAV to Sequoia, and one fateful day we rented a "mystery vehicle" (aka a truck) from Avis to save on some cash for a long road trip, and after about an hour in my wife says "THIS." It was a Ram 1500. A month ago we pulled the trigger on an F-150 PB for the interior space, comfortable ride, bed, length (nothing else fits in our garage 😂), and power as we hope to tow a camper one day in the near future.
I just bought the FX4 Lariat instead along with the 7.2K power on board rather than the black out package, along with tow/haul and mobile office. I also got the gray interior which was important to me, and no sunroof. I also got the Avalanche color. That along with the gray interior and no sunroof made it more practical for the desert southwest. You need the mobile office package (option) to get the center console table.
