Sledgehammers are only op with levels on them. Generalist units + levels counters everything. Generalist units - levels gets countered by everything.

the diference between stormcallers and sledgehammers is that while both can be just as impactfull sledges require much more commitment to make work to the same extent

Extra Range and Mechanical Rage makes the Sledgehammers amazing at clearing out everything squishier than themselves.

True. And field maintenance keeps them relevant in the late game. Allows them to sit on fire and heal. And since field maintenance’s state boost of 30% of sledgehammers max hp …as you level them they get gains over time You can also research armor enhancement and they will ROLL OVER mustangs (common asf these days)

Sledges take some investment to get going, but storms are just good from the get go.

I feel like the key difference is sledges are harder to gain xp being a frontline unit whereis stormies sit in the back being mostly passive benefit
