First pro event I attended was Calzaghe Vs Kessler. Great night! Amazing watching Calzaghe find a way to win. He ate a big uppercut in the 4th, but from then, he just took over.
First boxing event I ever attended was a PBC Christmas event last year, it was a card full of prospects. Unfortunately, I arrived very late to the venue so I could only watch the 2 last fights which were a 6 round fight and a 10 round fight. But the 2nd boxing event I attended was the Beterbiev vs Smith fight at the Hulu theater in NYC. I learned from my first experience I did arrive at the perfect time to watch 5 fights.
My first ever combat event was Joe Smith Jr. vs Melvin Russell at the Mohegan Sun Casino. Being in an arena for a fight is such a different atmosphere I love it.
I 100% agree with you about your comment on Srisaket Sor Rungvisai. So many of us who live in first world countries act like Marie Antoinette (let them eat cake), as if fighters from the third world could afford to live off 3-4 fights a year in their native countries like Western champions today. So what if a guy pads his record as long as when he has to face the big boys, he can hold his own.
First combat sports event I went to was ufc 204 in Manchester 2016 bisping vs Henderson 2 . Was a stacked card with only 2 fights going to the judges. Also got to see Leon Edwards for the first time became a fan from then 🇬🇧
The first pro fight I attended was on the 24th of February 2007 when Fernando "Cochulito" Montiel defeated Z "The Dream" Gorres by Split Decision to retain the WBO Super Flyweight Championship at the Cebu City Sports Center in the Philippines. That night, Gorres was the only Filipino fighter to lose to a foreign opponent, while Bert Batawang, AJ "Bazooka" Banal, Jimrex Jaca, and Rey "Boom-Boom" Bautista knocked theirs out.
got a hurricane going on, but hancho uploaded so, we good. my first combat sports event was in 2011, my dads pro boxing debut, which he lost by ko in the first round A ROUND HE WAS WINNING. Still salty about it.
My first event was a random boxing event at a casino. I don't remember much. The first event I can remember was UFC in Seattle Benson Henderson vs Nate Diaz.
1sr combat sports I attended was a charity boxing event. I worked for Marie Curie Cancer Care as a community fundraiser and a group of businesses put an event on for us. Was sat next to the ring girls and loved the event.
The first combat sports event I went. That takes me back In time, it was a local tournament of kickboxing. I was invited to the gym and watched the fights to get "experience" but I was sated a the back of the venue and didn't saw nothing.
That Tommy Morison fight was a gumbo of epic, legendary, sad, unfortunate, incredible, mind blowing, devastating & more simultaneously to me as a lil kid. If I recall, the fight happened either a year or two before or a few yrs after i was born, but my granddad recorded it to add to his great boxing footage & film collection. (He used to be an amateur fighter until he was drafted into WW2. What he saw/experienced over there changed him & he didn't want to box anymore but he grew to love the sport as a fan again. ) Or PopPop would watch those fights with my older brothers. (Quick funny story: my grandfather's friends is why we call him PopPop. Bcz they called him by that, never by his name. We called him PopPop short for grandpop/grandpa. They called him PopPop for the sound his gloves made when he'd his opponent. Left punch instantly followed by the right punch. PopPop. Lol.) But when I started falling in love with "the sweet science" as a kid, PopPop would break down every bit of each fight we watched. Teaching me both fighters flaws & strengths, what specific actions/behavior/reactions meant, & much more. And I'll never forget the day i saw this fight with PopPop, my older brothers, & one of my brothers, my pop & two of my uncles, lmbo. Although I am an (exactly %48) African American, I don't do like a lot of other African Americans. Where they'll pick/bet on a fighter or any other athlete just bcz they're black. So, although i wasn't against Ray, I had my bet on Tommy & I thought that flurry in the corner was about to be the end of Mercer. And the whole script was flipped. I erupted, exploded, & was in utter shock. Again, I wasn't against Ray, so i applauded his victory. It was awesome. But i felt heartbroken for Tommy. To come so close to your goal, your victory, your triumph & just as you're reaching it & are finger tips away & in an instant its snatched from you, the tide turn, & you lose. That was truly saddening to me.
Not all of our boxing memories are pleasant ones. Or they're memorable for the wrong reasons, maybe. Whatever it is, they're stuck in our heads, living rent free. 🤣 It is what it is. Be a boxing fan long enough and you'll have a bunch of moments that make you shake your head just thinking about them. Waddayagonnado? 😂
First combat sporting event I ever attended was UFC Fight Night Hidalgo back in 2016, it was so fun being in the crowd when Johnson knocked out Poirier
First pro even i attended was Ebo Elder vs Courtney Burton & that fight to this day is still one of the best fights I've ever seen If you haven't watched that fight I highly recommend its a gem 💎

Hancho just wanted to let you know because of your channel I grew a great amount of respect for boxing scenes otherwise overlooked by mainstream America. Such as Japanese boxing. You also inspired me to start my channel. Cheers!
First pro fight I went to was Jose Ramirez vs Jose Zepeda in Fresno and blessed to watch Ray Beltran go to War with Hiroki Okada man that shit was crazy!
man . . . i need to turn on the notification bell good video, as always, Hancho ufc 69, first live event I assisted. lost a lot of money on that main event, but pleasantly entertained
My first combat sports event was Gervonta Davis vs Gamboa in ATL. Only other one I’ve been to after that is Shakur Stevenson vs Jamel Herring in atl Hoping to go to Spence vs Crawford though or catch a ufc event
The first pro fight I attended was Johnny Nelson V Tom Collins on 04-11-93 for WBF Cruiserweight title in Mansfield UK as a kid, loved it and not looked back since. Still have the magazine/program available that night to hype the fight, id imagine only the two guys fighting would be interested in it but it holds great memories for me and its a keeper.
It’s funny seeing that GGG that debuted on HBO way back then compared to who fought Canelo this past weekend. That’s the fight that got me into boxing when I was 18. Man he really was a monster back then, he really could not have had a better 1st fight to introduce him to American audiences. Great video as always.
My first combat event I ever attended was a boxing fight. The main event was Cotto vs Quintana at the Boardwalk Hall in A.C. The undercard wasn't bad either. Got to watch Clottey vs Margarito. But Cotto and Quintana definitely delivered for my first combat event!
Lennox Lewis vs. Hasim Rahman 2 was my first sporting event I went to live. My dad bought the tickets after we had watched first fight on ppv. Getting to see Lewis regain his crown, Best birthday present ever!
For me it was an open sparring session in the club I go to. I took part myself and got beat. I actually treasure that moment since it showed me how little I know about the sweet science.
My first Combat sporting event was UFC on Fox: Lawler vs Dos Anjos. Me and two of my best friends went to this event where we not only saw to former UFC undisputed champions fight in the main event, but we got to watch future champions and title challengers in Jan Błachowicz, Glover Teixeira and Jared Cannonier. We also got the privilege of seeing Santiago Ponzinibbio vs Mike Perry which was a barn burner. Mike Perry was suppose to appear at a local night club called OV but due to the fight being so tough he puked into a bucket right as he stepped out of the cage. Rafael Dos Anjos went to this club and according to a local club promoter that I knew he came in with his crew, got a couple of girls and left lol.
Been a huge boxing fan for about 3 years now. Havent attended any boxing fights just yet, im waiting on a good enjoyable card from the 1st fight til the main event so my fam(who doesnt watch boxing) can enjoy it as well.
I thought your hajime no ippo video was going to showcase boxing moves from the show displayed in real life fights. Will you ever do a video like that?
My first fight was actually Lopez v KAMBOSOS. Insane event, got to see Kenichi Ogawa get a dub which was dope, was introduced to DA BIG BANG ZHANG 🫡🫡☝🏽☝🏽☝🏽. Almost got into a fight and got beer spilled on my foot (unrelated 🤣). All in all couldnt ask for a better first fight. Also I was one of the handful of people vocally rooting for kambsos, this poor Australian dude in the next aisle over was getting roasted the whole night before the main event. 😂😂
I don't know if you would call it a combat sport event. But the first time I saw a combat event would be at the independence day (Indonesian). It was a "Presean." Presean is not a combat sport, it's a fighting game. It only held on important events like the independence day. It's basically a fight between two guys armed with a rattan stick and a leather shield, the two participant would not wear any protective gears (besides the shield), and they would fight bare chest. So yeah, it's always bloddy.
My first combat sports event was a toughman tournament I participated in. I finished 2-1, losing to the winner of our weight class in the finals. Fun times.
