That's a tough one having no rookie x-fractor rookie. The prices are getting ridiculous. Fanatics wants to add more collectors but they seem to be doing more to push collectors away.
I like how topps gives you odds on what’s in the box. I’ll still buy the occasional Beckett because I’m old and I can easily flip through it to see what inserts have value or common.
I'm iffy about these monster boxes then again I've gotten 4 blasters, I'm trying to build a collection from just mainly retail, wish me luck, love the videos
Not a baseball collector but I do like the look of these cards and love the parallels! Strange thing with how the rookie X-Fractors are distributed RC vs Vet but I guess maybe it'll lead to more of a chase? Anyway good video and GL on your next rip!
I've ripped 3, all non rookie xfrator except for a Yamamoto which was nice, at least hit a good rookie regular refractor or prizm refractor in every box, 1 autograph, 1 negative rookie. They're definitely betting than blasters
They should always give at least as much value as you spend back imo. They could by cutting down the checklists and printed product but wish in 1 hand….
I wouldn't expect equal value back exactly. When I buy a car, I know I'm losing value as soon I drive it off the lot. I'd be nice to approach 50-70% in value on a consistent basis though.
These are nice if you get the Monsters Boxes with rookies instead of veterans for the X-fractors! That's how they are collated...X-fractor rookies or none (just veterans). I got one and may get another! Topps is better still and Panini can go to HE Double Hockey Sticks now. I am tired of their shady games. Maybe I will get Select.
The entirely NOT random nature of the rookie X-Fractor distribution is Class Action Lawsuit worthy! Has anyone seen a monster box with 5 rookie X-Fractors and 5 veteran X-Fractors? I haven't but if they were actually random we all would have. Topps wants the consumer to believe in infinitely impossible statistics which fall ridiculously outside the standard deviation.
Every time Panini or Fanatics screws up, we get worked up for a day than go right back to business as usual. The hobby needs regulated with the amount of money in it. It's unregulated gambling.
@@huxbux Exactly! Getting a single box with 10 veteran X-Fractors is a 1 in 11,293 chance. I managed to do that 5 times in a row! Which is a 1 in 1,836,463,956,953 chance. I'm sure it is due to my bad luck as Topps insists. 1 in 1.8 trillion happens all the time.
Stupid question, how do you determine the value of cards when you're essentially saying all rookies add up to the cost of the box, and all numbered cards add up to the cost of the box, and all non base cards add up to the cost of the box. All cards are the same per card unless you're skewing something. You can't say rookies added up to $130 and base cards added up to $130 and numbered cards add to $130 . By the end of your evaluation you've priced the box as if it's $780. If I pay $130 and get 46 base, I don't pay $130 for those base, and $130 for the rookies, and $130 for the inserts and $130 for the numbered cards. You'd have to add some sort of scale that values base cards at a 1, rookies as 2, numbered as 3, autos as 4, etc. Then each section of cards is subtracted from the total then you can get the value of cards in a box rather than determining the cost of the box by looking at only the cost of that type of cards. In all honesty it sounds like I'm complaining but my stupid brain keeps looking at those numbers and assuming the cost of all them should ADD to the cost of the box not each individual section adding to the cost of the box. I love the data you provide and it's the best of any channel.
You're going to hate me right now. 😬 Those numbers aren't the value of the rookies or the parallels or any category listed. It's a cost per that say rookie card or insert. Independently, they don't mean much at all. But when you compare the cost per for a non numbered parallel between two products, you can figure out which one to buy if that's what you're chasing. Did I make it make sense?😁 I feel like I did a poor job of explaining it in the videos. I'll aim to improve.
