They look nice. I'd pick one up, but just bought a Sitivien 152 for $24 off Amazon last week. Just got out of Walmart. They have one of those center aisle dipslays with ozark trail knives. Got one of the $5 axis lock models that sell out quick. They had some 3 packs of other models that looked interesting.

Try it out for a while and see if the blade holds up. Grade of Titanium and heat treat on the 14c28n may not be the best which might be reflected in the price, but if it holds up, great.!

I did buy the Assault Team #3 liner lock for ~ $21 after coupon upon the recommendation of this channel, and in general the overall fit/finish and blade grind is top-flight and as described in the video, but my particular example arrived with a too-tight pivot, but more concernedly a bit of pivot lash and noticeable lock rock. I did re-adjust the pivot, and flipping the action ~ 500 times seems to have bedded the liner lock into the blade tang and eliminated the aforementioned lock rock, but I have numerous examples of Ozark Trails $5 knives (most of which were bought for $1 on clearance) and NONE of them have lock rock right out of the package. In particular, the axis-lock style one locks up solid as a bank vault, but still and all I'm happy with my Monikala purchase, just love the combo of a hollow-ground straight edge and a flat ground point.

I like this steel because for non hard use, I regrind the blades very very thin and essentially to a zero edge save for the tip, for strength. the knives end up cutting basically forever and can easily be tuned up, essentially sharpened, with nothing but a loaded strop because of how thin the actual cutting edge is. Unless you drop it or bang it, there isn't much risk of edge failure because this steel is plenty tough at the hardnesses most edc shops run it at. Try that with ingot D2 and weep. Anyway, 14c28n is a tough, fine grained, stainless steel with good hardenability.

There is no way these weigh as much as the statistic on Amazon say they weigh (4.16 ounce). Can you post the actual weight for these three?

They're both in roughly the same value category and both solid steels. If you're not a big knife guy I'd take 14c28n over D2 for sure, though. Doesn't chip as easily and is a breeze to sharpen compared to D2. Slightly more resistant to rust too.

Different...personally I think better...slightly worse on edge retention but waaaaay better on toughness and corrosion resistance

D2 will hold an edge longer but it's harder to sharpen, and it's not stainless. I live on a river bank and the humidity is high in the warmer months so D2 tends to rust quite easily here. So I favor 14c28n over D2.
