There is a pot you can buy with a sponge in it that you can dip your nails into to remove the polish. You can keep refilling it with the remover. That may be the most sustainable thing I’ve ever seen or tried.
I use nylon stockings pantyhose. I have never tried to wash it. Sp not sure if it comes clean. But it's a way to recycle pantyhose when they get a rip or hole in it.
That’s a good idea :-) Can you keep reusing the same stocking again & again? Or once you’ve used a patch is it unusable? A very good idea indeed! I usually keep my old tights to use as cleaning cloths so I shall have to dedicate some of them as nail polish removers :-) xxxx
I love Zoya! A new brand I have been crazy about is ILNP. Most are duochrome or halo graphic. I’m not fond of “frosted” nail polish, but love these formulas that have a gorgeous depth to them.
The ice cream packaging said "14 free" because in the EU, the 14 most common food allergens must be labelled if they're possibly present in a packaged food item 😊 So the brand is probably very proud that they produce their products in a "allergen free facility", but i'm not sure if they can put "allergen free" on the label because there even are people with a strawberry allergy for example. Hope this makes sense, English is not my first language 😉
If you don’t want to use cotton balls, use a rag. Keep using it until there are no clean spots left. Washing doesn’t do well so at that point you can chuck it, but you can get lots of use out of a old cloth.
I was thinking about how I need a good nail polish 😊 and I agree that when I do my nails I don't like to wait because most likely I do it at the last minute 😂.
I had a couple of the Benecos polishes as well and I got rid of them all. I couldn't even wear them for a day without chipping. Have you tried the Londontown Lakur polishes? Besides Zoya they're my favorite brand! They're 9-free and the formula is amazing!
I've seen like a reusable nail polish rwmuber from a zero waste shop called greener habits buy I haven't tried it so I don't know how well it works thow I'm curious
I had one nail polish that I got in a petit vour beauty box but the lilac shade turned green. I don’t have any nail polishes yet. I’m going to buy some and start a minimalist collection.
Oh really? I read on a magazine site (not the most reliable source) they’re 5 free - did the blog say what 10 things Zoya is free from? 🙂 And yes! Me too - I’m glad I found a use for the Benecos polish because on the hands it was rubbish xxxx
Most of my nail polishes are from Barry M. I have one from Kure Bazaar, one from Maggie Anne, a Sparitual polish and a Glossworks top coat, and they just don't last even hours on me. They were all about a tenner to £15, not worth it. Barry M Gelly are great and only 3.99, you also have to try the Molten Metal range, they are metallic with glitters, opaque and sooooo long lasting, but also easy to take off!! Also 3.99! So bomb! Xxx
Literally cannot beat BarryM on price + quality. I remember when people used to rave about Essie and I just didn’t get the hype - more expensive than BarryM and not as good!! And I think I had a silver & Lilac molten metals polish from them aaggges ago, remember them being AMAZING! xxxx

I hadn’t heard of this 😮! Do you use one? If so, what brand do you use? What a great idea. Altho as I pick at my nail varnish a lot, will probably mean I’ll need to paint them more frequently.....or just....stop picking my nail polish off but 🤷🏻♀️😛

You should check out the RU-vidr SimplyNailogical, she has in her videos favourite brand (not sure if it is v/cf though). She did a whole video about the best ones etc.
I've switched to a peel off base coat and it has drastically improved the need for nail varnish remover. I use the one simplynailogical recommended from the brand UNT. I purchased 2 bottles a couple of years ago and I'm still on the first one. They only cost $10 USD. She's (Cristine) developing her own peel off base coat with her brand Holo Toco so I'm looking forward to trying that one. Okay I was going to recommend my Super Drug instant polish remover as a less wasteful alternative, but I just discovered that it contains lanolin!!! Why on earth does polish remover have to contain lanolin? I will not be repurchasing it, but the idea is that it's a little tub containing a sponge soaked in polish remover which you can put your fingers in repeatedly. It's by no means zero-waste but produces less waste than disposable cotton rounds. Perhaps we can DIY it with a reusable container and a sponge soaked in polish remover. Otherwise, Barry M "Cashmere" from the classic range (it's the perfect baby pink) and the Super Drug acetone-free polish remover are my holy grails. I've repurchased them too many times to count and these two are definitely vegan!
Jane Oh my gosh you’ve just reminded me that I used to have a similar thing from Essence! It was ages ago so I’d need to check that it’s vegan but that’s such a good shout. But so annoying that one contains lanolin :-( I agree, seems pretty unnecessary no? Hopefully the essence one is vegan so you could get that one after maybe :-) xxx
