Miss Lady!!!!! You out did yourself!! All I can say is I gave hubby his plate....he took a bite & I was like, "How it taste?", he was like, "good". I asked, "does it taste like fish?", he was like, "of course". I shouted, "IT AIN'T FISH, IT'S BANANA BLOSSOMS!!!!".....He just did a second look and keep eating it like somebody was gonna snatch from him, lol!! SLAM DUNK SISTA!!
@@FineappleVegan Good vid. One thing tho...I really wish you had broken off a piece and shown the inside of it in order to have a better idea of the consistency and the fully cooked look of the inside.
Nobody can hate on a vegan. They're literally the most resourceful and creative types in the kitchen. For this meal alone, somebody had to be adventurous enough to try a banana blossom, let alone decide to turn it into fried catfish and trick a few meat eaters. Look, if you are on Naked and Afraid, Survivor or just find yourself deserted on an isolated island, you need a vegan. While the meat eaters are trying to grab fish with their bare hands, the vegans will be on the other side of the island eating gourmet stuff and planning to open a resort.
I hope the vegans on that show know what they're eating off of the land. One mistake and you die.Meat on the other hand will rarely kill you in the same day.Im a novice forager and am super careful. Also foraging is very clensing. So you need to work up on certain foods or you'll get the runs with stomach cramps.I only eat meat because of anemia. And I make it minimal amounts of meat.A lot of plants have deadly look alike in nature.Foraging isn't for the untrained.Banana trees are unmistakable though. But they only flower at certain times. And some have to be trimmed back yearly for it to bare fruit.
Honesty the only reason why I agree with veganism is for the protection of animals, but for those who say it’s for health benefits are lying because there are certain nutrients that you can only get from meat, but instead they take supplements and pills to make up for it. And humans are always going to crave meat why else would they be looking for substitutes to satisfy their cravings
@@iamjonyboi1335, the only vegans who "crave" meat are the ones who converted. Ppl born into veganism have never tasted meat therefore you can't miss what you never had. Also, some ppl are allergic to certain foods. That doesn't mean they don't like the taste. They just know that it will harm them severely if they eat it. OR they prefer to eat healthy when meat is fact, NOT healthy or meant to be consumed by humans. Last but not least, there are certain foods that have WAYYYYYY more vitamins and nutrients than you'd ever find in meat. Being a meat eater doesn't make you exempt from taking vitamins. You still have to incorporate them onto your diet.
I have made the vegan fish twice since seeing this video! It is so incredibly good! Fried fish was one of my favorite things to eat and I am so happy to have a vegan option. Everyone else who has tasted it loves it as well, including my vegan sister, vegetarian son, poultry/fish eating son, pescatarian sister, and a couple meat eating friends that tasted it. I served it the first time with vegan coleslaw and the second time made fish sandwiches. So, so good! Thank you so much!!!
Catfish is one of my favorite fish and i tired this recipe and it really taste like fish i didn't use seaweed but i used fish seasoning and it did the job i love it
This is so dope! I just started the pescatarian lifestyle about two months ago. I definitely will be making this recipe because eventually I want to go vegan.
kokolatte825 it truly depends on the person intent. Personally for me I, wanted to slowly start to introduce a plant base diet into my life. I didn’t want to go straight vegan just yet until I discipline myself. So the pescatarian diet gives you that option to start that plant base diet; with alittle bit of fish on the side.
🤣 I love how you took yourself out in the intro. I have a vegan recipe book as well and I dont use technical vegan terms. I use relatable terms. My audience knows its vegan. Carnivores don't call hamburgers cowburgers. Its not even ham. Im glad you dont let ppl dictate your brand. Keep being you Queen. #newfollower 💚
This taste great. Grinded the dry seaweed in the blinder til it was a powder so it would coat better. Really gave it the "sea flavor" that fresh fish has.👍
So many of your recipes are for foods I use to eat as a carnivore and that I've missed so much. Thanks so much for adding this new dimension to my Vegan lifestyle!! And, I really enjoy your adorable personality and fun antics in you videos. You rock Miss Fineapple!! 🤗
I haven't eaten catfish in over 20 years...found out unclean fish and following dietry law. Im one month in sampling Vegan recipes and fell on your video. O my...can't wait to find canned banana blossom and do a healthy fish fry.🥰😍
I am going to cook vegan fish. It looks easy to prepare, and it contains simple ingredients that are easy to find. Incidentally, the babies are all very beautiful. Thank you for this great vegan recipe. LOL 💯🙏
OMGOODNESS THIS RECIPE HERE IS DELICIOUS! I made them for my hubby and me for dinner and they were a hit! If my hubby likes it, they’re good. Thanks for sharing. I will definitely keep this rotation. 😋
Oh my goodness thank you for the recipe. My banana blossom fish came out amazingly good!!! I’m trying to go vegetarian and with recipes like this I can definitely do it. Please keep them coming.👏🏾👏🏾
I just tried this tonight. Gurl yas, I can rock with this🙌🏾. I am newly into the vegan lifestyle and had never heard of a banana blossom lol. This is so good!! And I hopped over and whipped up just enough vegan ranch in 5 minutes. I tasted it and held out some for dipping. Thanks.
This is my 1st time seeing a video of yours, I love it! Definitely subbing and hitting that notification bell. Thanks for the recipe, I'm going to make sure to watch more of your older videos as well!
Heyy, we here watching and showing some love!😍 Glad we're fam now cause we need these recipes in our lives! Trying to make a change in the way we eat and this, well you are definitely going to help the process! We love catfish..seafood so to not be deprived of it will be such a blessing & so will you! Thanks for sharing. Be blessed🙏🏿❤
I tried this recipe twice, once with banana blossoms and again with cauliflower. The cauliflower was soooooo much better. I don’t like the taste of canned vegetables and the banana blossoms weren’t good enough for me to try it twice. I seasoned the cauliflower with her seasoning selection and let it marinate overnight and then stuck it in the toaster oven for 5- 10 min. before dipping it into the cornmeal batter. It doesn’t look like fish but tastes sooooo good!!!!! ❤️💕❤️💕❤️this recipe!
From Herbalife to here❤️.... I’m here for it... Congrats!!!!!. I’m so glad you didn’t give up. Oh yea that liquid gold is on point yall.❤️❤️❤️ Keep going Girly!🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
🤣 You're a trip! Definitely going to try this as soon as I can find some canned banana blossoms and seaweed - I just started eating more plant-based foods last week so I'm looking into many recipes on RU-vid and this looks amazing.
Omg yesssssss, when it comes to naming the types of dishes people get so offended by how our terminology is used. Like why are you butt hurt by what we like to call our food, like damn you DO NOT HAVE TO EAT IT!!!!!!!!!
Gurrrll I just got out of a church zoom cooking class. I laughed at them at first cuz I could feel what they were saying but one day it wasn't so funny and I politely addressed the sarcasm but that wasn't received well. So now I'm looking for a zoom cooking class, and I'm thinking about starting my own. Guurrrl one lady tried to define veganism to me she said, now you know vegans don't eat booboo meat." Since when was an Oyster Mushroom or bananna blossom meat. I guess cuz I called it chicken and fish. Pleassssse!!! So patttttty
I loved this recipe. I worked all day and needed something quick to eat so it was fish and chips(sweet potatoes fries) tonight! This was my first time making this. But, I just made your recipe and its fabulous! Thank you so much for sharing!
Hi! You showed up on my feed and I've never seen you before but I subscribed because I want to try some vegan fish and your channel looks delish. Now I'm going to watch all your other videos while eating gardein vegan fish. I just happened to see your vegan fish while eating my lunch.
Yo I really enjoyed this video. Your personality and the singing was great. I've never cooked banana blossoms, but I did have a banana tree in Hawaii when I lived there.
I have never eaten catfish because I have known since childhood (growing up 2 farms on the river) that it's a bottom feeding fish, not because of the flavor. I am definitely making this my first vegan home cooked meal.
Looks amazing!😋 I done paused the video looking for a double sided deep fryer, LOL!!! I have been seeing the banana blossoms in videos & vegan fb groups, I like this recipe...can’t wait to try it!!!!!👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
You're naturally hilarious! LOLLLLLL I was looking for a vegan fish recipe!!! Thanks for posting this. I'm going to try your recipe minus the ranch. I' probably have to use an egg white. By the way, I'm not yet a full vegan, but slowly but surely I will be prayerfully. Thanks again.
New subbie here! I loved watching your video! I'm not a vegan but have been seriously considering trying it for health reasons. Being a southern girl that grew up on " grandma's soul food", I wondered how I would be able to satisfy the cravings that are sure to torture me lol. This recipe looks amazing and so realistic! I'm looking forward to trying this out and making healthy new choices. 😀
Welp! I’m a first time watcher and I will be trying this recipe for sure! I had to hit that subscribe button. I love your sense of humor and energy! ☮️💟
