Great to see you back, and thanks for sharing this. This looks like a wonderful way to create a customisable setup, and the final result looks excellent. I use Ikea's Algot wall-mounted shelves with bookends to stop game-falling action, and it looks pretty nice. Bit fiddly to rearrange if necessary, though, and nowhere near as flexible as this setup!

39 of those? My god, that's over a grand worth of shelving! It looks worth more than just bookcases and IKEA furniture in the long run.

Dave! Holy crap this is perfect! I've got a bunch of video games, books, and little anime figures all on a bookshelf I have in my room. I've been needing a bigger shelf because it's full and I've just started putting stuff wherever I can. This is honestly the perfect solution for me!

Thank you so much Dave. I've been working with a bookshelf and some shoddy shelves I put up myself so this is exactly what I have been desperately needing. Ordering some blue, red, and white for a Mario theme right now. They aren't cheap but I feel they with be worth it.

This is great. I do worry about it all coming down if it’s as heavy as you say though, especially if it’s just anchored to the drywall and not supported by studs. I don’t think a couple of panels would be a problem, but a whole wall with that much weight hanging on it would worry me.

So I'm thinking about buying some of this so I wanted to summarize some stuff I learned that he didn't mention. Pegboard can be bought in a 2pack for $40. Shelves are different prices $14-$22 for 4" - 12". I'm looking at five 6" shelves(nes boxes are about 7"×5") to cover the two pegboard. It's $120... kinda pricey, but not absurd I guess. Since the pegboards are 16" wide, they should just screw into two studs. In theory, studs should be placed 16" apart...I think. Like 90% sure of that.

Even if Dave talk about his toilet gaming set up, I'd watch it.

The concern I have with the magnetic boards is with Famicom Disk System games. It could wipe them if you’re not careful.
