Best Video of the Changing of the Guard at Tomb of the Unknowns, Arlington Cemetery 

How ANYONE can watch this time-honored tradition and not be humbled, respectful and grateful, is beyond me. Yet, many videos show that many attend and see it differently. They talk, laugh, cross barriers and generally feel the rules don't apply to "them". That's a real problem with today's society, the teaching and practicing of "respect" is being lost. But, so are values, traditions, honor and patriotism. Great video, thank you for sharing this. 🇺🇸

The amount of respect I have for these men can’t be put into words

When I visited, right before the changing of the guard, there was some moron woman talking on the phone. She didn't last long before the guard stepped off his rug and ripped into her like there was no tomorrow. I was so happy.

Respect and honour from this Aussie who visited Arlington last year and watched this ceremony with such depth of feeling it's hard to express even now, as I sit here with tears rolling down my cheeks. Australians and Americans have fought, died and lived as brothers and sisters through far too many wars. Let's hope in the future we will stand together only in peace.

It’s insane of how precise and coordinated the guards are. They do it all perfectly and barely any mistakes and it’s just beautiful of how well they do it.

Thank you for posting this, Mr. Kovacs. My Dad was in the South Pacific 42-48. When I saw this ceremony at age 11, I realized I would have never existed had he not come home. I felt compelled to memorize the words on the tomb. I’m now 60 and I still remember them.

This is respect to all veterans, MIA, retired, deceased, and otherwise. This show of ceremony, and respect is one of the highest in military service. To be part of the honor guard is one thing, to be this is one of the highest of honors. The display, shows our values to our service members. It is unparalleled. It's all day and every day without room, for less than a perfect standard. it's a remembrance, honor, and gratitude for all those who have served, serve now, and will serve. This is sacred ritual. Thank you for all who serve now and before. For making my life and so many others possible. Without our military family America wouldn't exist, thank you all for you service, big or small, long or short. You make the hard choice to serve, put you lives in danger, and represent us, everyday, everywhere. For that I thank you.

As a British Army veteran I have a great deal of respect and admiration for the honour guards that stand post. Traditionally all service men & women stand tall during these practices, we are all brothers and will never forget our fallen. It gives me an immense sense of pride watching this. We learn this early on in our service years, lest we forget, no matter what country or what side, ever soldier remembers his duty to the ones who never got home. I look forward to one day being present at; The Tomb of The Unknown 🎖️🎖️🎖️

This one of the best if not the best Changing of the Guard on RU-vid. But do remember that the guards are there day and night, fair weather or bad. Storms of rain or snow, blizzards and hurricanes both.

From Australia, I am amazed at the dedication and perfection to detail of these guards. I have watched many of these videos and am very impressed and I pay respect for the Americans that fight alongside their allies like my countryman to ensure a peaceful world remains existing.

Absolutely seamless, I'm an ex British soldier and I pride myself in looking the part. These boys and girls put me to shame. Spot on...

imagine forcing your legs and feet to walk in a line, one foot directly in front of the other..watching their great strength and determination and RESPECT .. wow.

The greatest honor of my life was to participate in a wreath laying ceremony at the Tomb when I was 18 years old. (1983) I was terrified that I would screw up and disgrace the soldiers and myself. I thank God that did not happen.

In 1984 I had the honor of laying the wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, watching this brought back a memory I’ll never forget, the Honor Guards are gentlemen that you’ll never forget

I have had the honor of attending this fine ceremony many times and during each visit have felt a strange emotion of extreme respect for the purpose of the Tomb and the Old Guard who perform, with great dignity, the Tomb's ceremony. The Tomb is the most sacred of US memorials without question.

Why would anyone put DISLIKES, IF you have not ounce of RESPECT, WHY did you watch THE CHANGING OF THE GUARD, BRINGS TEARS to my EYES every time I watch it.

For anyone interested in learning more about the guards, my friend who was a guard himself made a documentary about it. It’s called The Unknowns. It’s really cool to see behind the scenes what they go through.

I have no words. I sat silently in awe, tears welling up in my eyes.

I remember as a kid, living in Arlington, that every year on Memorial Day we would pack a lunch and go picnic on the grounds of Mount Vernon and then our day would end here at Arlington Cemetery for the Changing of the Guard !!!! We were an amazingly patriot family as were all families that lived through that terrible War !!!!

I can watch this 100 times, still gets me every time..

Two most sacred places in DC - Tomb of Unknown Soldier and Viet Nam Memorial. The looks on the crowds' faces watching the soldiers' ceremony are priceless. They finally really understand what war is about and the sacrifices that have been made.

Absolute dedication. I'm humbled by these men and women. Unfortunately, the public at times are rude. This is a place of respect and silence.

Watching this while standing under the sun in summer heat, sweating like a pig, I was in awe at their ability to maintain their composure and timing. This is definitely something you have to see in person to get the full experience.

Excellent video. The chances of being selected for this detail are about the same as winning Powerball. VERY strict qualifying. A real honor for the soldiers.

We took our three kids (15, 16 & 17 years old at the time), to the USA back in 2003. We flew to Washington for a 4 night stay, then, by Acela Express train, on to New York (5 nights), then by the same train to Boston for another 5 night stay before returning to the UK. It was a great education for our kids at the time. We went to Arlington Cemetery and saw the graves and memorials. We made a point in going to this ceremony and thought everything was done very well. Had a great stay and have been back since. Best wishes from across the pond👍🤗

The 3 of them look identical. I can only wonder what training must they undergo to be so elegant and perfect with every move.

Both of my daughter's, went to the east coast for two weeks during their 8th grade year. It's a wonderful trip kids in 7th and 8th grade can go to. It's not paid for by the school and costs a couple thousand dollars, by it's an amazing opportunity. Both of them were chosen to be part of this. As a family deeply affiliated with the military, it made me extremely proud, that my kids were allowed to be part of this beautiful ceremony.

THANK-YOU, Bob, for this video! I watched the whole thing very carefully. The best part was closely watching the expressions on the faces of the crowd when they appeared in the background. I'm saddened, that SOME of the crowd seemed more interested in looking down at their devices, than watching the SKILL, PRECISION, TRAINING, and DEDICATION of the Guards.... But hey, at least the crowd remained SILENT and RESPECTFUL.... This video made tears flow from my eyes. God, I am so PROUD and HUMBLED by you Guards!....

This is truly an amazing ceremony. Having been there several months ago. Not to be missed, very moving...such perfection. It's a beautiful ceremony and this video is the best.

The soldiers representing the monument are magnificently honorable as far as I can tell I think they are fantastic respectful and they realize the loss that has occurred I should say the monumental loss

To those who have served, are serving, and especially those that have made the ultimate display of love: No one can put to words the sheer righteousness of your service. I will never be able to express the tidal wave of emotions that come over me when I consider those that have given everything for a person they’ll NEVER interact with or know. All I can say is thank you, and God bless.

Not much gives me chills but watching a shuttle launch and the Sentinels at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier are two things that do. I’ve seen this three times and it is humbling at what it represents. It’s hard not to stand at the position of attention as a prior service member during the changing of the guard. I do and will continue to do it as long as I can stand.

God bless our soldiers, and those who protect the tomb. They give so we can be free. They should be honored, and not dishonored. They give for this country, sometimes give their lives. Have respect and give tribute to these soldiers, either guarding the tomb or fighting overseas. They're giving their lives for us..
