Edit: Pandora's actor was made when Momonga was younger. At this time he had a bit of an obsession with WW2 Germany which lead to the creation of Pandora's Actor. He eventually grew out of this phase and kept Pandora's Actor hidden in the treasury. It is also worth noting that most of the other guardians in the novels are jealous of him since their creators left while Momonga stayed.

Note: we will *NOT* talk too much about them, because a lot of the info known about world items involves spoilers. Even if certain facts about world items in the New World have only been mentioned in the novels up to this point, there is a good chance those facts will come into play in the final seasons of Overlord, so I urge the comment section to exercise caution in any discussions. This comment is made solely to give the idea of what world items are capable of. There is a lot of lore to the back story, most of which doesn’t matter, so let’s just summarize: world items allow players an insane level of power in the game, so much so that they could even change the game world and the game mechanics for everyone who played. There were 200 world items, though not all had been discovered because they were extremely well hidden. Some were one-time only use, meaning you would have to find it again if you wanted to use it twice. A player or guild who found one went to great lengths to hide the fact, because they would be a huge target to every other player looking to steal it. When the guild Ainz Ooal Gown was forming, only 50 items were known about by the players. Info about them was only known because of spying, espionage and leaks by players who were quitting the game. The only way to protect against a world item’s effect is to either, A.) Have another world item in your possession, or, B.) Be changed to a very specific unique job class that could protect against it. The guild was protected by attacks from other players using world items because they stored a world item in their base. Of the 200 world items, there were 20, simply called “The Twenty”, that were considered so powerful that they could totally break the game. The guild staff that Ainz carries is not a world item, because it was created by the players in his guild. However, it was made by combining numerous God Tier level items, so it’s power is comparable to a world item. So let’s look at a few examples of world items. Remember, we will not discuss any world items that could be linked to info that ends up being spoiler. *Five Elements Overcoming:* (one of the twenty). Has the power to let a player request that the developers change the game’s magic system. *Ouroboros:* (one of the twenty). Has the power to let a player request that the developers change numerous mechanics of the game, even beyond what Five Elements Overcoming can. *World Savior:* (one of the twenty). A club that is actually very weak at the start. But can be continuously powered up with use. Its power level could become so high that it could defeat the entire combined strength of all of Ainz Ooal Gown’s members. *Longinous:* (one of the twenty). Its user can sacrifice his own existence to remove ANY target from existence as well. No resurrection magics could restore the user’s data, ever, (except possibly by another world item). Note: if someone used it on an NPC in the Tomb of Nazarick, the NPC would be destroyed and the tomb’s maximum allowed NPC level would drop. Further note: guilds with a large enough base were allowed to create NPCs with a total combined level of 700, (with max per NPC being 100). However, you could increase the maximum allowed level with cash shop items, a world item, or special quests the guild leader had to complete. Since every Ainz Ooal Gown member was required to have a job IRL, it’s implied they bought lots of cash shop upgrades. The extremely high NPC maximum level in Nazarick is a special feature of the guild’s home base, and one of the reasons their base remained undefeated by raids. *Unknown Item:* Allows the user to turn himself into a World Level Enemy, enemies that level break and are considered a threat to the whole world of the game. A champion in the realm of Musplheim used it to become one of Lords of the Seven Deadly Sins, considered some of the most extreme enemies of the game. It made him so powerful he could fight 30 max level players evenly. *Throne of Kings:* The throne that Ainz sits on when acting as the Overlord. Located on the 10th floor of Nazarick. This is probably the world item that defends the tomb from other world item attacks and even prevents enemy information magics from spying inside. When sat on, it provides the user an unknown buff, and also allows the user to monitor the stats and situations of all of his allies within the tomb. This is why you often see Ainz sitting on the throne when he is studying the NPC charts and stat lists.

Background informations on World Level Items (WI): - There were 200 World Items back in Yggdrasil. - Each Leaf on the Tree represents a World, and each World was associated with a World Item. So, each of the 200 World Items has the power of a World behind it. - When Ainz was talking about the Twenty (20), he was referencing a specific category of those 200 World Items. Those are the ''Strongest'', so strong in fact, that they are One-use items only. He's implying that one of those in the possession of Nazarick could free Shalltear from her mind control. - Ainz is afraid to lose a One-use trump card, now that he knows there is other World Items in the New World. Therefore, he prefers to fight Shalltear, and resurrect her afterwards as an NPC. - Nazarick has 11 World Items in total, the most of any Guild back in Yggdrasil. At least one of them is a Twenty. The Guild that had the 2nd most World Items had 3. - World Items are Absolute in power (Game breaking), so above the effects of Super or 10th Tier magic. This is why the ring failed to dispel the mind control on Shalltear. - The only way to protect yourself from the effect of a World Item, is to yourself own/equip a World Item. This is why Ainz goes to the treasury and takes them out, to give them to the Gardians, his strongest NPCs (most are Lv. 100 like himself). If Shalltear had worn a World Item when she was attacked, the mind control effect would have failed. Shalltear's Strength: Of all the Guardians, Shalltear is considered the strongest fighter. That's mostly why she is guarding 3 floors by herself. She was created by Peroroncino. She's optimized for combat, and uses holy magic, which is very effective against the undead. When you compare her build to Ainz, which didn't pursue pure power, but instead went for a ''Death roleplay'' build, there's no doubt he's weaker.

Oh yes...I was also shocked when I saw Tabula Smaragdina. A very interesting character with strange hobbies. As a mage, by the way, he was stronger than Momonga. His race (apparently) were a mindflayer.

When Albedo speaks about Pandora's Actor (or PA as the comunity also calls him) being one of the smartest people in Nazarik, she means aside from him Demiurge (a millitary expert) and herself who manages "Human" resources. PA is actually in charge of coin expenditure and keeping magic items in check (he loves to polish and take care of them as Ainz programed him to) Also, about the "strongest" part, Shalltear is the strongest 1v1 NPC, while Albedo is the tankiest NPC, but her strenght is lower. There also exist a rock paper scisor power relationship between Albedo (Tank), Sebas (ballanced fighter) and Cocytus (The big blue bug, a perfect glass cannon)

And also they don't have to be a player to use world items; do you remember the talent Nphirea had that allows him to use any magic item despite being very weak himself?

Ainz needs to deal with Shaltear personally. He doesn't need people getting in the way, and he doesn't want people to know she's one of his subordinates! So yes he killed them!

Read the novel, the reality of their world will tell you why Momonga and his friends characters look the way they look and why their creations are made in such a way. I find the fantasy world that Momonga has been put in is far more a better living condition than the real world he used to be in...

a little bit about the strength of the NPCs: Albedo has the highest defense, and there is also Cocytus - he has the highest physical attack, and there is Sebas Tian, he has these characteristics much lower, but he breaks through armor with it. They can be said to be like rock paper scissors.But Shalltear has such a set of abilities and items that she is strong against a crowd of enemies, and at the same time can cope 1 on 1 with a strong opponent

Not spoiler as it is never said in the anime : actually even though Ains Ooal Gown was not the strongest guild in the game they were the one with the most world items (11 if i remember correctly and the second guild had like 3) when he refers to the Twenty he refers to the 20 most powerful world items in the game, so powerful that having one of them immediately made others scared of you (one of them could even erase a character (even a player) in exchange of erasing the character of the player using it, another could also change the whole game by asking the devs, they would have to put it in if it wasn't destroying the whole game ofc) and they also have a limit number of 1 uses, after that it would disappear and reappear elsewhere in the game so using it even though it was powerful was equal to give it to someone else so people were actually really careful with those. Other world items doesn't necessarily have a limited number of use but were also way weaker (but still strong as you saw with shalltear's mind control) It is said a bit later in the anime but it isn't really a spoiler so read it at your own risks: wearing yourself a world class item is enough to immune you to any other ones (but ofc it means that you can lose it if you're not careful).

There were several players in the guild that were top tier pkers. Momonga just had a very specific almost roleplay build that gives him a massive variety of spells, and high defense. I think the spell limit was like 300 normally but he has over 800 through his build.

No spoilers but about the guardian's strength, it's like in a PVP game with classes Albeto is a tank, very resistance and almost immune to effects so she can keep protecting whoever is left if the enemy reach the last floor Cocytus is a DPS of the highest caliber, with 4 arms he can deal insane amounts of damage very quickly Sebas is a hybrid with good defense and attack Shalltears is a Combat Optimized class, she can deal a lot of damage, while being a tank, also has life steal, so she can keep fight for a long time. Aura is a ranger with her Pets and have scout and ranged skills Mare is a AOE Mage, with some control magic, from simple shield to earthquakes and tornados Ainz just like Demiurge is a Summoner, Most of his better spells are summoning magic. Unless Ainz uses EXP to summon things of lvl 90 most things would be useless against shalltears that can heal by attacking his minions.

Cocytus has the advantage against Albedo, but not against Sebas. Sebas is strong against Cocytus, but not against Albedo. Albedo can probably win against Sebas, but not against Cocytus. And his request for training truly reflects Cocytus’ personality… Though, can we really become stronger? So I'll explain what happened to Shalltear because the anime doesn't. I put it down lower incase someone thinks this could spoil anything. (IT DOESN'T.) Shalltear was hit by the world item "Downfall of Castle and Country" which can take control of anything regardless of resistance to mind control (It was the glowing white dress the old lady was wearing). Shalltear lucked out because she threw her lance while the spell was casting so she was put under control but severely injured the caster before any orders where given preventing full control so she's stuck on autopilot and will attack anything that gets near her which is why the group just left her in the middle of the forest.

Mare's staff is very very heavy and can be used as a blunt weapon! . Also Pandora's Actor is based on Nazi SS officers! . Shaltear is the first line of defence in Nazarik, her build is focused on pure DPS!

The stuff about the strongest NPC changed a lot in the beginning, now most of the stronger fighter NPCs are in a rock paper scissor relationship and the clear strongest one is Albedo and Nigredo's (Albedo's older sister) younger sister Rubedo who the guild members created in collective effort to create something so broken in the game that it can beat TouchMe in a 1v1 without being a raid boss.

As a former leader and creator of a guild called "Fluffy Stuffies" this episode hit me right in the feels when it first aired. We founded the guild when us 3 founding members suddenly ran across each other farming sheep for mats and decided to team up to make it more fun (hence the guild name). Over the years we grew from 3 to 58 members. Those happy days playing and hanging around with my mates are memories I will never forget. As was the sad day I decided to disband the guild as the last active member. Everyone else had already moved on to other games. I just could never bring myself to recruit new people because those we had lost over the years could never be replaced 😢

If you rewatch the battle scene from the previous ep, Shalltear had killed the person who tried to mind control her, so the mind control ended up incomplete. As you said, she's like an RC without a remote. That said, I'm hyped for the next ep, it's one of my favourites from the Overlord anime.

Some lore concerning world items that is slightly expanded on in later episodes but way more expanded on in books or other material World items were the top of what was possibly obtainable in the game of Yggdrasil and were all unique items in both effect and obtainability. They are also at the top of power scaling of the entire game meaning that they can and will nullify any ability or affect of a lower tier if it conflicts with the item itself (as we saw something is obstructing Shalltear from responding to Ainz and the super tier spell was not able to affect her state) As for what was referred to as "The 20" that is the moniker given to the 20 most powerful world items that were obtainable in the game even among other world items but came at the cost of each one being single use and would be destroyed after. On that note it becomes an example of what made the guild Ainz Ooal Gown such a formidable group. Guilds in Yggdrasil were limited to 100 players total and most would keep their roster full and with players that would optimize their builds to be as powerful as they could come up with. In contrast Ainz Ooal Gown only ever had 41 players in their roster with a number of members having builds that were either more RP focused (like Momonga and his ruler of death build) or others who focused on other things such as crafting. In spite of this would be handicap their guild held the single greatest collection of world items in a game that owning 2 or 3 would put you into the upper rankings of all guilds in that game.

Since I didn't see anyone else explaining it, I will add that the ring that Ains uses, takes great inspiration from D&D's ring of 3 wishes. YOu have 3 wishes that can be fulfilled, with certain limitations. It's one of the most precious items for non legendary characters, under level 20

World Item (WI) is the strongest item class, surpassing anything else in the game (basically) with a total of around 200 items. Among them there are 20 items that can even change the system itself, BUT only a portion of these items (200) can be found and their effects are known including The Twenty which is owned by Nazarick. Who is the strongest FG??? This depends on many things such as: job, level, stats, and intelligence. In this case, Shalltear (1-3) is the strongest so far, BUT there is still the Giant Golem Gargantua (4) who could defeat Shalltear if only he had intelligence like the other FGs. Albedo itself is a tank type, in case of an invasion. Sebas is a type of martial arts (hand-to-hand combat). Cocytus is a samurai type. The three are like rock-paper-scissors: Albedo > Sebas > Cocytus > Albedo. The other FGs (Demiurge, Aura & Mare) are also very strong based on their jobs. Except for FG 8, he is weak because there are special conditions. Edit: Pandora Actor is not a FG but his strength and intelligence is equal to or perhaps exceeds the others.

Supposedly, Rubedo, a sister of Albedo is the strongest, but she's only been heard of. Shalltear is among the stronger members. Albedo is the tank character. Sebas(butler) is dexterity, like a monk. Cocytus(ice bug) is the strongest melee.

The Vampire brides were killed as reported at the end of Ep 10. Edit: You were surprised as Tabula's appearance? -- Remember to be a member of Ainz Ool Gown (Guild) your character HAS to be inhuman.

In the german Dub, the translated line "The various sacred treasures sleeping deep within Nazarick" has a pun in it. Translated it goes like "...sleeping deep within Naziri- uh - Nazarick" That one caught me so offguard I had a laughing fit. But I like the original in all more, because our Dub went too far of the rails with the things Ainz/Momonga/the Player (don't remember his name right now) says. And Pandoray Actor is so over the top, in my book he is f-ing hillarious, if I were there with momonga I would just laugh and giggle non-stop over his shenanigans.

Magic/Item Power Tier Overview. You have "normal" magic Tier's 1-10. After that you have Super Tier magic, which is separate from the regular magic system because although it could sorta be considered 11th Tier magic it acts very differently, it's sort of a fusion between magic and skills, you don't use MP to cast them, they have an inherent frequency casting limit, and they tend to be largescale "Super Magic". While the "outcome" is often similar to "just 11th Tier magic" how it works and requirements are not like the previous 10 Tiers, so its considered separately. Lastly, in terms of Power Level, you have World Items. I won't get into too much detail, but basically these are outrageous items which affect the World directly and cannot be challenged by anything below another World Item (and would never exist it a "real life" RPG cause its so broken lmao). That is why his Super Tier item Wish Upon a Star, which is S Rank powerful even within the Super Tier, just shattered when faced by a Word Item's mind control. In the game Yggdrasil, there were 200 World Items. The effects aren't often usually TOO broken, actually, but because they are absolute and can be used repeatedly they are powerful. However, some of them are very very strong, and the top 20 "most powerful" became known as "The 20" and were made single use. However, someone who holds a world item is immune to the effects of other world items. Part of the reason Ainz Ooal Gown had such an extremely powerful reputation was they had acquired ELEVEN World Items. For reference, the next closest guild had 3 World Items. Anyway, World Items by their nature only end up in the hands of the strongest forces, so knowing Shalltear was Brainwashed by one Ainz assumes there is a serious trap set up for him.

Ainz's creation is called Pandora's Actor, not Yuri. Yuri is the maid who was with Albedo. Pandora's Actor's voice actor is indeed Miyamoto Mamoru, the voice actors of Rintaro Okabe- Steins Gate and Light Yagami- Death Note.

You are right in characters having builds that counter each other. shalltear is minmaxed by her creator and is especially good against undead, Albedo is strongest tank, Cocytus is very very strong in offence but weak in defence, Sebas is a well balanced monk. and these three`s fight will be like this according to author ALBEDO>COCYTUS>SEBAS>ALEBDO. And yeah world Class items are admin level of power sometimes, Like how one of them could literally change the game power system, players found only 200 of them(there was more), and among them 20 were too strong that they were one time use.

The top 4 NPCs of nazarick would be 1.Shalltear for pvp 1v1 fights, and then triangle of Albedo - Cocytus - Sebas , sebas beats cocytus, cocytus beats albedo and albedo beats sebas because - Albedo is full tank Cocytus is full damage sebas is hybrid damage/tank And Shallter, well ull see next episode, shes just the strongest fighter in all of nazarick, she was made to be top 1v1 Also Pandoras actor is like a Joker card, based on where he is, he would be the strongest, since he is a Doppelganger(shapeshifter) just like Naberal gamma(just max lvl and way way stronger) Technically not a spoiler and not a big one: Pandoras actor can shapeshift in ALL 40+ original guild players with 65% +- power of the original, thats why he is in the mausoleum, he can transorm into a player, have their skills, just weaker, but EVEN use their equipment that Momonga stashed in there, in the mausoleum pandoras actor is practically unbeatable, practically the strongest NPC for versatility and in fighting

The moment of realisation 16:00 - Hououin Kyouma stand:)) I didn't even know it is the same voice actor, and apparently he is Light, Ling, shady actor hero A#1 from OPM and you'll see in HxH too, he will be a very interesting character. Now that you have been introduced to Pandoras Actor, you have reached the minimum requirement to watch the Overlord x Eminence in Shadow Crossover. Though you should probably wait till you finish all 4 seasons first.

The World Items are the fallen leaves of the YGGDRASIL tree, and true to their name, they have world changing powers. On paper, Shalltear is much stronger than Ainz. She is especially strong against undead magic casters like Ainz. Peroroncino was a serious power gamer and he optimized her purely for combat. Both are level 100, but Shalltear's class build directly hard counters people like Ainz.

On Nararick Floor Guardians power, they excel at different things. Albedo has the strongest defense, Cocytus has the strongest attack, Mare has the strongest magic, Aura has the best support abilities, Demiurge has the most intelligence, Shalltear is the strongest in terms of power, but she also has some debuffs, one of which caused this whole mess to begin with, They will explain it later. Plus, she is not very intelligent. In terms of intelligence, Albedo, Demiurge, and Pandora's Actor are close to each other, though Demiurge is still the most intelligent of the three. Yuri Alpha is one of the Battle Maids. Floor guardians have Lv 100. The Battle Maids Lv is between 46 and 65, if I am not mistaken, so there is a big gap between her abilities and those of the Floor Guardians.

For a brief overview of the strength of the Nazarick characters. Ainz is a player who had a mostly roleplay build. He was much stronger as a player than his build suggested, but he was no top tier player. Touch Me, the creator of Sebas, was a top tier player, 3rd best even. As for the NPCs, there's a few 'tiers' of NPCs. However, while he tends to feel like his intelligence is lacking compared to the super geniuses like Demiurge, he is actually an excellent tactician, just not always the best strategist. The only reason Ainz stands a chance against Shalltear, whose build perfectly counters him, is because he knows all of Shalltear's abilities (because Peroroncino, Shalltear's creator, told him all about her), knows how to exploit them, and has a shitton of items and spells to try and do so. In raw power, he doesn't stand a chance against Shalltear. The floor guardians are almost all lvl 100. This includes Shalltear (floors 1, 2, 3), Gargantua (floor 4), Cocytus (floor 5), Aura and Mare (floor 6), Demiurge (floor 7), Victim (floor 8), and Albedo, the leader of the floor guardians. Albedo being the leader does not mean she's the strongest. I think Gargantua is technically the strongest of the floor guardians, but Garguantua is a mindless golem. Shalltear is probably the strongest individual combatant out of them. So when Ainz says Albedo has no chance of beating her, he's not lying. Their levels are the same, but Shalltear has a build that is highly optimized for PVP. Albedo is a melee tank and is no slouch whatsoever, but she probably couldn't beat Shalltear in a 1v1. Victim is the weakest, but they're a sacrificial NPC whose death causes powerful debuffs on enemies. Victim's floor has never been defeated by any attacking player raids. The area guardians are strong, but not necessarily on the level of floor guardians. Two of them are lvl 100: Pandora's Actor (the guardian of the treasury), and Aureole Omega, the youngest sister of the Pleiades maids. These guardians are given control over a single area, rather than an entire floor. The Pleiades guard the entry to the throne room, and were made to stall any enemy raid long enough for the players to gather for a final showdown. Sebas, the leader of the group, is lvl 100 and is on par in strength with NPCs like Cocytus and Albedo. The others range from the high 40s to mid 60s in level. They're incredibly powerful compared to pretty much anyone we've seen in the New World so far (Gazef is only around lvl 30), but individually pose no threat to one of the lvl 100 NPCs or Ainz. Yuri Alpha, the maid who is with Albedo in this episode, is lvl 51. She's not even the strongest among the Pleiades. You thought they said Yuri was on their strength, but the line you were probably thinking of was talking about Pandora's Actor, whose strength and intelligence is comparable to that of Albedo and Demiurge. Then there's other NPCs with their own roles. Some serve as the subordinates of floor guardians, like Demiurge's Evil Lords. Others are just background NPCs and don't serve a purpose in battle, like the homunculus maids, who are all lvl 1. There's one of these NPCs who is definitely noteworthy, and that is Rubedo, the youngest sister of Nigredo and Albedo. She was created in a different way to the other NPCs, and is considered the strongest individual in Nazarick. So if there is someone in Nazarick who could probably beat Shalltear in a straight 1v1 fight, it's her. She normally guards the 8th floor, and is likely part of the reason why no player ever made it past there.

Albedo is the leader of the Floor Guardians, but she is not the strongest NPC of Nazarick. Among the level 100 NPCs, the four that specialize in close combat are Albedo, Cocyutus, Sebas, and Shalltear, and among them, Shalltear is the strongest in terms of raw ability as she both a half-caster and is highly optimized (her creator, Peroroncino, was a power-gamer). For the other three, Albedo is a tank, Cocyutus is a glass cannon, and Sebas is a bruiser, and the LN suggests that they have a Rock-Paper-Scissors-esque compatibility, going Albedo->Sebas->Cocyutus->Albedo. There is a cannon strongest NPC of Nazarick, but I don't remember if they are ever mentioned in the anime, so I won't talk much about it, but they haven't been mentioned yet at this point. Additionally, Shalltear is the guardian of floors 1-3, so she was basically the first line of Nazarick's defenses and therefore spec'd to trounce any fools attempting to invade the guild hall, while Albedo, being the leader of the floor guardians, was stationed on the 9th/10th floor. Nazarick's strongest defensive measures are on the 8th floor, and if someone managed to make it past that, it was unlikely that the guild would be able to defeat them, so Albedo, Sebas, and the combat maids' main purpose was to buy time for the players to gather in the throne room for a "final boss" type battle.

World Items are the rarest, most busted items in all of Yggdrasil. Because the game's code allowed players to manipulate data to create things like items or NPCs, certain limits had to be created and enforced to not let it get out of control. However, World Items were a special class of item that gave players who used them Admin-level power to LITERALLY CHANGE THE ENTIRE GAME WORLD of Yggdrasil, based on the effect of the item. The ability to remain unaffected by the function of a World Item was to have one yourself, which made just possessing a World Item actually more desirable than using one most of the time. Given their rarity and power scale, the fact that the Ainz Ooal Gown guild was able to acquire as many World Items, and successfully defend them, is one of the things that made them so feared/respected.

Pandoras Actor, the guy in Military outfit, is Ainz creation from past when he saw WW2 Germany as a strong country that all other European countries, their colonies as well as U.S.A had to join together to defeat. Only after Pandoras Actors creation he learned dark side of WW2 Germany and what they did, this dark side was censored out when it was first teached in school thus leaving impression of Military Strength that was highly looked up to.
