I think what you want, once you initially dose your pods is a healthy phyto population. that is dosing phyto, dosing the bacteria that boosts phyto growth and keeping an aerobic environment (like an air scrubber or something) to keep that phyto bacteria growing. when i ease off the phyto dosing the pods tend to disappear, but when i have a strong phyto population the rocks are just covered with pods and i can see them flourishing in the water column

Ive been getting my copopods and phytoplankton from a friend of mine here in Texas (pod your reef). Its been about a year since I added the last batch of pods and just last night I spotted a bunch in the rocks. Guess my wrasses and other fish are fed enough to not really pay attention to the pods.
