Henry escaped my full RNC with his hands in his belt. I applied it as hard as I could but I thought he broke my arm escaping. I felt horrible and asked another black belt to do it and Henry escaped again using no hands. Henry has such a deep understanding of these moves

As a newbie to BJJ, Henry gives really good explanations of the WHY.....which always doesn't get expressed in 1 hour classes. Great instruction style.

Professor Akin’s in-person seminar in Atlanta was pure gold, with a lot of repetitions on techniques. His videos have become my ‘go to’ for out of class instruction.

Henrys instructions are gold for everyone, but if you are fat, old, slow, or all of the above he should be the only out of class instructor you listen to.

I love all of your videos, Bernardo, but when you have Henry on here, it's a special treat. I watch tons of BJJ videos, always with the idea of finding something I can us in my gym. I have had more success with Henry Akins' techniques and concepts than with those of any other instructor.

Very generous of you Bernardo to share this timeless technique which Rickson emphasized so much in his teachings. Sticking to basics using leverage like using more of you on less of him truly stood the test of time, even with the trend of increasing bjj techniques.

Professor Henry really explains the invisible Jujitsu. It’s amazing how we’ve seen the back escapes illustrated for years but rarely had broken down in a clear logical manner. Thanks for clarifying the hand fighting reasoning! I can’t wait to roll and add these jewels of Jujitsu to my back escapes! Coach Al

Usually Bernardo doesn't ask this many questions, especially specific questions. Many times he'll just repeat what the presenter says, in a question form, and maybe get a slightly longer answer. But this is him exploring. I can tell he's legitimately learning, curious and having fun. Henry is a top G.

I’m in my 6th week of learning BJJ, and I just wanted to thank you for making all of these incredible videos. Every morning after class, I grab a coffee and watch a video related to what we drilled, and pick up so many great tips and pieces of advice from your content. It makes me so excited to roll again and try them out! Obrigado from Ireland!!🇮🇪

I’ve done a few seminars and private lessons with Henry. I remember each lesson as if it were yesterday. When I rolled with Henry as a brown belt I felt the beat down for a week 😂. He didn’t go crazy he just used pressure and basics and it was all I could stand 😅.

Harry is the best! I myself I have been a teacher of multiple disciplines for decades and have received lots of accolades for my teaching skills. As an acclaimed teacher I will tell you that nobody is better than Harry! Breaking moves down in small steps this is the key to superior teaching of any discipline and this is what Harry excels at!

These are excellent videos. I like how it’s more like a seminar with live dialogue on broad concepts. Then as the concepts are rolled out, Bernardo brings up valid points that are micro analyzed. This is the kind of material that actually helps people get better. Thanks for the content!

Bro i've been trying henry akins stuff in my class at gracie barra, and as awesome as it looks on video shit doesn't work at the slightest, for example his guard passing principles are for my teachers wrong from end to end and the fact is that i can't apply it, now his principles to add pressure from side controls are cool, but seriously if like my you go for the trash compactor submission when you have a scarfold hold then you don't have to much thing there.
