oh my gosh i cant believe 200 you are amazing . That quilt is so beautiful . my son and i just finished our very first one yesterday monday august 22 its your cardinal they came out really good for our first one had a few hickups but learned alot we havent sealed them yet so m glad you went over that i will try and send you a picture he says he thinks he knows how
Why do you use the spar urethane? Do the barn quilts have to have a sealant on them if they are outside, if you use exterior paints? New to barn quilts 😊
The water based Spar Urethane does not turn yellow when you put it on your barn quilts. I use exterior paints and put the sealer on because I like the finished look the sealer gives the colors. Also, it is just an added protection for the colors so they do not fade as quickly. Some folks do not use a sealer if they use exterior paint (all sample paint needs to be sealed.)

i would be very interested in seeing you do one then maybe ill be confident enough to make one i have only made 2 so far the cardinal and bear claw thislooks hard
What kind of paint do you use on your barn quilts? I didn't know if the paint product matters when it comes to sealing it? I have Glidden Paint sample tubs for my paint colors on my barn quilt.

I can’t find it at Lowes or Home Depot. I found it on Amazon. I use a primer with a sealer in it for the front and back before I begin painting so I do not put the actually sealer on the back. I hope that helps.
