Best Way to Use Palette knife and How to Mix Colors.

So many workshops I've taken teach one to always and only make a color string with your pallet knife by mixing up separate and distinct puddles. I always found this felt uncomfortable and delaying because I instinctively mix my color strings the way you have shown, and with the brush, and not fully mixed but with some lively variation. So validating to see you doing so... yet not to say my instincts are always spot on!
