Fasteners - Fasteners are the most common way and many times the easiest way to install diamond plate panels. The advantage of using fasteners is that any self taping of pointed screw will be able to penetrate our aluminum diamond plate material. With fasteners you'll also be able to more easily remove the diamond plate at a later time if needed. When attaching diamond plate to walls using fasteners you need to be a bit careful when tightening as over tightening will bow diamond plate material a create a dimple.
Adhesive: Based on customer feedback the best way to install diamond plate on your drywall walls in most situations will be using an adhesive. Most of our customers find that a caulking adhesive with instant grab works best like Loctite Power Grab works best, but Liquid Nails is also commonly used. We've also had many commercial diamond plate installers tell us that a trowel applied FPR adhesive worked well when attaching embossed diamond plate to new or painted drywall.
Double Sided Tape: Some people use double sided tape alone to install embossed diamond plate sheets to help get the sheets in place, but tape is more commonly used along with fasteners or an adhesive. Tape can be a good way to temporarily help hold your diamond plate sheets in place while the adhesive dries or before using fasteners, or as a permanent solution for some projects.
