Hello I have been watching ur skateboard videos ever since ur first electric skateboard vid and I just want to say that u are an inspiration to many. Keep it up!
Great Show. I have an Evolve Carbon GT & I love it, except for low power. Would it be fairly simple to swap the motors for something more powerful. Are there plans or people able to do it? Thanks
Hi Mike! Can I simply swap out Hub motors for your 6355’s and change it to a belt drive system? Current motors are 350w hubs running on a 12s2p Samsung 30Q battery pack Thanks
In theory, Yes! But you’ll want to take a look at your ESC. Many ESCs are calibrated for certain motor types. You’ll also want to make sure you can limit your battery’s max discharge since 2 6355 motors would want to draw more than 30amps. But it is possible to make the switch 👍🏻
Okay so I ordered a battery (6s2p) and a basic single belt motor esc with the newest enclosure and it said 2 business days and it’s now been 3 I thought it was just late but I read online and apparently it’s happened to a few others to, I would just like to know when my parts will be here, thank you:))) I would also just want to let you know I really enjoy your videos and you really helped me a lot with the whole esk8 stuff
Keep in mind that we just had our huge Black Friday sale. We’ve updated our shipping policy for the holidays. Items can take a few days longer but guaranteed to arrive before Christmas. Unfortunately we can’t offer the awesome deals and stick to our 2-3 day shipping goal. Hopefully next year we’ll cut the lead time down during the sale. Don’t worry though, we’re shipping everyday and you should get shipping data shortly! Once all holiday orders are out we’ll return to our regular 2-3 day shipping time around. Hope this answers your questions! Thanks for the support by the way!
I’ve just got the tracking number but now it’s asking me to pay £47 for final payments I thought this would be included in the $60 shipping and I tried paying it and it said I might have already payed I was just wondering if that meant it was included or not?:)))
Hi! Unfortunately we aren’t able to cover everyone’s import taxes. You’ll have to double check with your local post office on wether you still own duty’s and taxes.
I have a 12s4p Samsung 40T. Any idea for the best way to charge. Should I deplete fully from 100 or wait til battery is at 30 percent. Is there anything that I should look for when dealing with batteries at that magnitude? Cheers
I have your 6s2p battery pack with the basic esc/remote pack you showed in this video trying to run a 6374 170KV brushless motor but it won't really work... The motor moves but it's never constant and ticks back and forth. I just looked on your website and you say a 6374 should technically work but should I just get a 6355 or a 5055 motor instead?
The 6374 is a bit too powerful for the basic ESCs so many times problems can occur. I’d definitely consider either switching to a 6355 or upgrading ESCs to a VESC.
Do your enclosures come with pre drilled holes for wires or do you have to add that yourself when you get it? Also what battery indicator do you use/recommend?
Our Universal Enclosure doesn’t have pre drilled holes, our new MBoards enclosure has a bit of a gap in the back for the motor wires. We use this battery percentage indicator: www.mboards.co/collections/diy-supplies/products/battery-percentage-indicator
MBoards DIY Electric Skateboard Tutorials I am curious how this indicator is aware of the particular battery pack size and voltage? Is it capable of detecting 3s,7s, 12s, etc? While still showing accurate readings
PatRiot generally speaking they have a programming button on the back of the meter so you tell it the kind of battery your using so the percentages then reflect the specific voltage of your battery.
