I have a few suggestions for you to consider: RC Car Brushless ESCs usually have a lot of programmable features. In your case it would be ideal to disable the brake option, as well as the reverse function and maybe adjust the startup power. That way you can skip the arduino. Also when using the arduino, i would add a potentiometer to easily adjust the throttle delay. Cool project thou,

I would look at mounting the motor on the top of the board as altering the shaft width may weaken it to much. Or change the truck mounts.

I'd put a little blue lock tight on those belt pulley screws too.

good vid. put the other motor on the other side of the same shaft. left wheel motor behind the wheel, right wheel motor in front of wheel. motor size won't matter and you should not need to reverse wire one motor

I'm building mine at the moment. To avoid extensive grinding it's best to choose trucks that stay largely the same diameter across their length.

Love the project and how you creatively pulled it together, however, I have a few things to point out and some suggestions for you: > Use Silicon wires rated for the current you are drawing. The plastic PC wires are not rated for the surge current on RC applications and will heat up causing it to melt and possibly start a fire. Silicon wires are cheap and will not melt and short circuit even if you accidentally overload the system. >That power switch is probably rated for 6A peak and 2A continuous, it will melt soon and give you weird problems, so please switch to a heavier duty switch as I'm pretty sure that circuit is way over 30A on load. Never try to save money on wires and switches for heavy current applications! >Instead of grinding off the shaft support on the wheel mount and making it weak, it would have been better to drill the motor mount as much as you can and then grind the shaft to make it fit. >The method of mounting the sprocket to the motor shaft is a poor design from the manufacturer using 2/3 set screws on a round shaft, you should switch to a shaft and sprocket with a keyway design or a shaft with a flat spot on one side for the set screws to bite on, even which comes loose. Loctite it for sure! >And like everyone pointed out with the programmable ESC, there are lots of custom firmware available for them as most of them are ATMEL and ST micros, you could flash them and have it your way with no brake unless you pull it in reverse for braking. And since you are using a nano, you can use it to power on the ESC by connecting the power switch to a pin on the nano with a proper circuit and turning it on in void setup :) But overall, this looks like a very satisfying project with excellent outcome!

for a case, you probably can use 2 case that placed at front side and back side, and let the middle free, so the longboard can flex

How close are the motor speeds when you have 2, because you could put 1 on front of the axle and 1 behind. If the speeds are different maybe 1 on the front axle and 1 on the rear, but both on the same side, eg right-hand side.

idk about that motor mount mate. You may want to change how it attaches to the axle of the long board. Like a system that can take more torque would be good.

Hi can you explain why the motor power rating is so high? I did some calculations and it seems like nothing more than 500W is necessary? If would be great if you explain how chose this motor. Thanks!

I have made a very similar longboard, but your code is not working for me, i've checked over it a million times, tried a simpliar code but still nothing. Without the arduino nano the motor works, but same as for you it stalls when trying to brake, any ideas?

Power in one wheel is not good for steering the board will tend to steer in the opposite site continuously but I am not sure. Plz, mention that topic in the final video. It's a good project and like your videos keep doing like this project.

Did you mean a free run like in some rc model on the front axel? I think this is the better way then a clutch. But don't forget the possibility to break! With the free run you can not break!
