I wanted to cap this particular comparison at 6 browsers so things didn't get too crazy, and I debated including Firefox, Vivaldi, or Arc for one of the spots. I included Firefox in last year's comparison ( ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Z29uz49zwG8.html ), and since Arc is up-and-coming, I thought it might be more interesting to feature in the video. As for Firefox, it's still a solid browser. I can recommend it if you are a Windows user and want to get away from Chromium entirely. That'd be the main reason to use it in my opinion. If you don't mind using a Chromium browser but still want the privacy aspect, I think Brave is the better browser. I've also got a dedicated Chrome vs. Firefox ( ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-m-M69FyW22I.html ) and Brave vs. Firefox ( ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-k9ual3JMoWg.html ) video you can check out.
I decided to include Arc this year since it’s up-and-coming. I like to change things up in my comparisons and have covered Firefox many times in past videos.
Firefox is solid too. Great if you want to avoid Chromium (especially on Windows). Unless you’re set on avoiding Chromium, I think Brave is the better pick for a privacy-optimized browser.
@@Craylor This was not a serious test, including Safari and skipping Firefox for some weird reason, and then oddly suggesting Brave as a way to avoid Chromium when Brave is a Chromium-based browser. Btw, I'm not suggesting Firefox is better. Poor research if I'm being honest, good enough if the title was Chromium-based browsers vs Safari, which is still very limited in scope.
@@ner0pAre you seriously suggesting that all Chromium- based browsers are sending info to Google ? Grow up, Firefox fanboy. Brave is far far better than Firefox, just as a browser but more importantly for privacy.
@@PaulHirst-og4uk some nerve to tell someone to grow up and call them a Firefox fanboy when out of the 2 u was the child and sound like a fan boy. U pulled out of nowhere that he suggesting chromium based browsers are sending info to google. Where when did anything like that come up? Secondly which one had facts( as misguided as it was because he can say he misread but still facts all the same) and which one just threw out claims that one is better without anything to back that up even when the person even said they wasn’t saying one is better… smh I swear.
Using arc for mac and iphone last 7 months as master student in UX it is making so much sense and it is amazing and it works however I can’t see a point for a average user why they should use something else rather than chrome or safari
Arc is crashy when moving around tabs and spaces. The address bar is tiny and doesn't show the full url. I can't create URL shortcuts on the desktop. It doesn't support PWAs, and uses pinned favorites instead, but there can be only twelve across all Spaces. The tabs get out of control, requiring too much scrolling to find something. I can see where they are going, but it's not there yet.
For me, Firefox started bugging after 1 year of use. RU-vid started lagging, and some other websites. That's why I came here to change to a new browser.
The one thing holding me back from Arc is that there's no Android app so I can't sync with my phone. I'm using Firefox now, but I'm tempted to move over to Brave.
i dont know about opera because im pretty sure its owned by a chinese company and they pretty sure they are forced to give information of its users to the government but im not completely sure
I almost included Vivaldi, but I wasn’t sure it was popular enough and wanted to keep it to 6 browsers. It’s always tough deciding what to include in a big comparison 😅
@@Craylor That's totally fine! Still a great video♥️. I just keep watching videos on Vivaldi because I just switched to it recently and I wanna feel better about my decision 😅. You're one of my top creators I watch for tech and browser reviews. Great content man!
Why didn't you include Firefox? I know you've covered it in the past, but 5 of the browsers mentioned here are chromium, and Safari is too simple for a lot of people. Not much variety in this video.
I try to switch things up in my comparisons, and I figured including Arc this time around would make for a more interesting comparison than Firefox (that’s not to say Firefox is bad, it just hasn’t changed much since my last comparison). With that being said, I will definitely include Firefox next time based on the feedback here.
