Capcom *nailed* it with RE7. In retrospect, I think it was outdone by the RE2 remake, but only just. RE7 was everything it needed to be, and it laid the groundwork for reviving the series from the bowels of mediocrity.

Honestly from everything I hear Black flag was an amazing game that stands out in the franchise. I haven't played it yet but I know it enhances the ship combat that I had an insane amount of fun and joy on in 3. Never commanded a ship like that before. A lot of people hate on dark souls 2 but I literally played dark souls 2 immediately after I beat one. There a laundry list of things that dark souls 2 improves on compared to one. Okay the dungeons don't interweave, and some of the bosses aren't amazing. Aside from that I had an amazing experience with 2. Breath of the wild is a fine game, I mean he talks about the lack of link's character, but every single one of the dozens if not hundreds of npcs have more character than almost any character in some mediocre anime if that means anything. Many of them felt unusually real and had their own personality. Link is like a tool, you imprint your personality on him. I think thats kind of the point. For me the only problem I kind of have is that the combat could have been improved upon a little bit more. It works as it is, but I allways enjoyed how advanced, technical, and even flashy wind waker's combat was. In any event, all of these games are by no means there because he needs something to fill the list. I can't speak for him but let me reiterate all of these games are great games(Don't know much about soma)

Didn’t review it, but on that note, Uncharted 4 probably deserved a position the year before as well. But 2016 and 17 were tough choices on the blandest of the bland.

I wasn't a bungie fan to begin with, I had no experience with this company at all. I bought the game because a few friends of mine mentioned how much they loved the first one, and because I felt like playing a good, proper shooter again. Needless to say, that was not happening with this game, and probably wont ever no matter how much they try to polish it.

I say that while the story and take on machine sentience is interesting, everything else doesn't particularly appeal nor offend. There's a lot of scifi legacy to live up to, and it just feels like something's missing.

The game's point is to show you that something's missing from the experience, making you feel like you're missing something, and then procede to show you what in the second half and the ending. This was never a sci-fi game pretending to explore the origin of consciousness, it just uses that theme to deliver on its real message (in a heavy-handed way, but a powerful one nonetheless) You either didn't play it, or didn't play it until the end of route E (which is the only ending of the game, everything before that is a red herring) or it went right over your head (which seems plausible seeing what angle your chose to use to attack this game)

I preferred the old ones, where he either had a picture with him "playing" or being together with a game and having a good time, or him mocking or torturing it. While the music backdrop was either a Choir of angels, or him making fart noises....

It's not bland it's average.

The biggest problem with The Surge is that aside from its setting, there's nothing that really sets it apart from most of the competition. A few cool gimmicks, yeah, but why play a subpar Souls-Like when we have Nioh, Monster Hunter (sorta), the whole Dark Souls franchise, Bloodborne, and, hell, even Lords of the Fallen.

I know I'm replying to a ten month old comment, but fuck dude. You say there's nothing that sets it apart from the competition but setting and a few cool gimmicks but then fail to tell us what sets the competition apart from each other thats so different. The Surge was made by the people that made Lords of the Fallen and they improved a lot from that for a double A team with The Surge. And don't try to make Monster Hunter out to be a souls-like, it's not, I love it but it's really not. The only competition The Surge really has is From Soft and Nioh and it sets itself apart plenty with gritty scifi and the way you get equipment. I'd say it's better than Dark Souls 2 or Nioh despite it's flaws and I think that says a lot considering where it comes from. @@joshuapaul1715

I am a fan of the Persona series and I think this is easily the weakest game in the franchise(Even if you Count P1 and P2 duology) It's bad because 1. the mid-game is BORING.The mid-game palaces Madarame(meh),Kaneshiro(Drags way too much and the visuals take a huge dump),Futaba(Meh),Okumura(HORRIBLE) are Bad and they are most of the palaces in the game. 2. After the best palace(Sae's palace),I was expecting Shido's palace to be the best but it left me very disappointed(the best part of this palace was Akechi ) 3. OST is kinda overrated, P5 fans won't stop commentating on every RU-vid video with VG music that it has the best OST(Which is not true as long as FF,Nier,Persona 3 exists). The ones with Lyrics don't fit well in bossfights like they do in some of the P3 OST(Burn My Dread Last Battle).The best music for bossfight is 'Blooming Villian' and suits the serious bossfights. Also,The Last Surprise gets old after 60hrs(after Sae's palace) when the game's tone changes and gets more serious. 4. Yeah,this game definitely has the weakest characters besides MC and Ryuji(Who actually has the most character development in the MAIN story and not just social links).All of them are so dependent on the MC unlike P1,P2 or P3's characters.

Cartoon Network/Disney XD Superheroes the gameplay is simple and mediocre, people seem to just ignore most of the awful palaces in the game (anything after the Bank) and the characters are so one dimensional and static. The game is just overly praised, even though it was one of my favorite games of 2017

I don't know why *only* fifth is a bad thing. That means, for Yahtzee, Persona 5 is better than every other game that came out this year except for 5 other ones.
