I'm medium tan with olive undertone, and I believe I'm muted and desaturated . I want a bronzey nude blush , not golden, not red, not terracotta, not dark or beige 😂 💔 I'm struggling because everyone who's similar to skin is wearing terracotta reddish blushes 😢 most of those people have brightness in their skin , unlike me 😢 I only have Oden's eye jasmine blush which I'd describe as rosy bronze that could be my "natural flush" although I don't even have a natural flush !!!!!!! Apparently, I'm too green 😂
I have come to accept that I am a desaturated pale person with a cool olive undertone. I was so resistant to admitting to myself that I had green in my skin because it seemed bad. Like wicked witch of the west vibes. But it’s not like ignoring it makes it untrue! It just makes me keep trying colors that aren’t very flattering! I love being in the weeds with you because this has deinfluenced me on several potential purchases! ❤ I have Fleurtatious and seeing it compared side by side…that Armani blush is going to pull straight up orange on me. You have also influenced me to pick up Mimi in the fall because I didn’t really get the hype but I see it. I definitely see it. Dang is that a good color!
Thank you Kackie ! since Nars Douceur got discontinued, the quest for a dupe of that perfect mauvy-contoury-sunsety-beigy-pink has been endless, and the frustration of having peachy cheeks whenever I think I have found the one is real 😢 (totally pointing Magic Hour with my finger). Clearly your work here is A BLESSING, amen ! But but, what about Nars Behave, the liquid blush that you recently tried and that also comes in powder form ?? As I live in paris it would be the easiest to come by, and its look is compelling… 😏 thanks again, your videos are a sunshiny treat 🌹
This is exactly the kind of content I absolutely love!! Detail detail detail in a kind of product we love. I would love to see this category compared to some of the rosy beige bronzers like the lightest Gucci shade or the Jones Road road bronzer in Dusty Rose!
My personal favourite in this category is the Laura Mercier powder blush in ginger. For my tan skin tone it’s the perfect nude shade. I really enjoyed this video.
So I’m over here binge watching this channel & find myself with $450 of blushes in my Sephora cart 😆 I’ve always been obsessed with blush, I feel like I NEED it.
This was SO helpful and informative! I ordered latté and fleurtatious and I'm verrry excited! 💗 Would love a mauve/purple blush value video as well! Happy weekend!
I know your makeup look was "incomplete" when you started, but I think you look really fresh! Not disconcerting at all. looking good :) Also obsessed with beige blushes right now. Perfect timing.
OMG, Kackie! This video was so satisfying, and, funny enough, it gave me the push I needed to remove the Lawless blush from my Sephora cart. 😂😂😂 I have found some gorgeous desaturated blushes from KBeauty ranges, and the first one that comes to mind is the Rom&nd Better Than Cheek in Vine Nude! Rom&nd’s formula can seem odd compared to Western beauty blushers as they seem to have a muted grey base, and the colours are sheerer but applied to the skin; they look so heavenly, and they help to smooth skin texture like a dream! Wonderful video; I hope you have a lovely weekend!
I have very fair, translucent skin that burns very easily. Everything turns orange on me. I have a bunch of these but Mimi and Inner Glow are two of my favorites. I also love Desire and think I need to try Condensate. Most of the other ones that I have and you swatched lean orange.
Kackie is my favorite pale green human, i am pale green and therefore her content is so useful for me because, to date, what works for her works for me, her color theory based application of stuff is chef kiss. I was sad everything turned pink on me until I found her thanks to a random glossier video back in the day lol fjords foreverr
I love this! I would also love an updated one that includes some of the blushes you’ve spoken about this year - especially Nars sexappeal and behave…and I think Kjaer Weis Inner Glow might be discontinued, so it would be amazing to expand on the “je ne sais quoi” shades, if you’ve found any!
your color wheel is genius omg. i wish i had that years ago because it took me so long to learn that since everything pulls red-orange on me i need a purple or a yellow to get a nude-beige look (purple for cool, yellow for warm). i have Rituel de Fille desire and it was the answer to my prayers to get something to look at home on my skin. love this type of makeup nerd video! looking forward to the bronzer video bc i recently realized i need something yellow toned!
This was such an interesting and informative video! I'd love to see a rose blush version of this especially considering how you talk about how it's a go to colour when trying formulas
@@kackie i would love a deep dive on the brownish blushes too, as essentially, I'm looking for a rosey-brown cream formula that I can use for bronzer. Nearly all bronzers are too orange or too yellow for my skin tone. I'm intrigued by the new shade of the Saie bronzer and I'd love to compare it to the Thrive stick in Mo. I've had several folks with my same issue say they've had the best luck finding the right bronzer by looking at brownie blushes....makes sense. I know a "Kackiecore" style face swatch display would bring it all to life! ❤️❤️❤️ **If that's too nuanced, would you consider something like that in your next crowd-sourced this/that or Kackie Makes Impossible Choices video? ( Sorry...can't remember the title of your ongoing series, but I'm sure you know what I mean). ❤️
I love my Westman Atelier blushes. I started off with Petal, then added Mimi and Chouchette. Petal is my least fav because my cheeks do get slightly red so maybe that’s the shade I wouldn’t purchase but Mimi is my absolute fav. Hate that it’s a site exclusive though.
This was enjoyable to watch. I too have a million shade variations in this family. Some stand outs in my collection that you don’t have featured include Nudestix Bareback, MAC Blushbaby & Mocha, Tarte Exposed, Paaarty & Seduce and several shades of Colourpop’s super shock cheeks. I also have some that are on your face too lol. Another color family that I have a bunch of blush in- peachy pink/coral (I love those too).
Thank you for including the colorwheel! Blushes always turn orange on me and I could never figure out what my undertone was. Now I've had the revelation that i suspected all along, I'm olive!
I found this really interesting, because glossier's dusk gives my skin the same vibes as Mimi/Latte on you (it is my favorite blush. I'm a third. I might have a problem). I know decluttered your cloud paints, but I wish you still had it so I could figure out where that one fits in. Still a super fun video as always.
Loved this video! so interesting, always love when you compare shades and give many details! I was thinking about Louise Bisou Blush by Violette, but maybe it's a similar color way but more saturated so that it does not belong in this round of comparisons (I had a look at previous videos I had already watched, and in a "this or that" video you swatched Louise against Mimi & Latte, and it is quite peachier)
In my humble opinion I absolutely think you can wear the purples!!! I see that colour in your eyes, lips, and freckles. Your makeup is always flawless. Such a pleasure.
This was interesting, thanks Kackie: the varigation in (theoretically) "desaturated" was impressive. I also love how deranged you'd look to anyone new: hilarious. As an ultra pale, ultra desaturated neutral (think a lighter HLP, minus the green), these are possibly my worst colours: cool & bright is my jam. I was surprised to find an intensely bright cool pink lipstick I disliked on my lips (NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream smells shocking), looked great sheered-out on my cheeks: I then repeated the experiment with other similar tones & found the theory held for all of them. No matter how bright a cool tone may be, if it will sheer-out, it looks great as blush. There is a limit to coolness, however: too blue & I look somewhere between hypothermic & dead.
I absolutely love these Into the Weeds color theory videos. I'm a light desaturated olive that leans yellow (I can tan and burn). I will jump on the KW Inner Glow train. I have it and it's my perfect natural blush shade. Abundance is also an incredible mauve-y what-color-is-it-actually shade. It's really cool how, at least for me, blush colors that seem very different can both look at home on me. For example, Make Beauty Heat Stroke Dewy Gel Cheek Tint in "Slush" (the purple one) *is* my winter fjords color. And Tower28 BeachPlease Luminous Tinted Balm in "Power Hour" (the terracotta one) is my summer sunburn color. They don't really work well together for me, but each has a distinct and important role in my lil collection.
Some other notable nudes: Mac Glow Play blush in So Natural, Nudestix Nudies Matte Lux in Nude Buff. Both are definitely in the same family as ABH Latte. Merit Fox is beautiful as well, but a little deeper.
I just have to say I'm a near skin-twin of Hannah's and I'm watching this video for the third time because YOU'VE DONE A REAL PUBLIC SERVICE HERE. That is all.
This video made me so happy and was very validating. Your video was one of the reasons that I took a leap and bought WA Mimi a while back. Seeing it on your face today in comparison with all of the other colors was very helpful as I can see I made a really good choice. Thanks, Kackie!
What i love about this video and others similar to it is that it unlocks colors I never thought to try. I'm now like, hmm those first few shades are so pretty. Now I have a blush wishlist. Lol.
The Westman Atlier website describes Mimi as a “tawny beige”. I hate that it’s website exclusive (because it means I can’t put it on my Sephora card) but that’s ok. It’s one of those I will buy most likely sooner rather than later. You’ve gotten me to buy quite a bit, Kacie 😂 and I’ve love the majority of them so I know we’ve got very similar tastes!
Ooh this is very interesting! I wanted to love Fleurtatious so much but it looks positively orange on me!! Makes me scared to try any other blushes in this color category. *cries in not understanding your undertones*
These are my favorites. Do all the comparison videos you can think of Kackie! It makes me want to go and put swatches of all of my blush colors on my face🤪
Literally the only blushes I reach for is beige rosey blushes. I felt like this video was specifically made for me. So many blushes I was eyeing butttt Kjear Weis has completely peaked my interest
Also a few of the shades I like in this category are oldies but goodies are the the Stila convertible color in Lillium and Peony, and the Mac sheertone blushes in Harmony or Blushbaby. I really like them together! Lillium was the blush they used on Daphne in Bridgerton, so dreamy. I like Peony a bit more somehow, there is a just a little bit more brown in it, so good.
Harmony is THAT B for me. It looks so unassuming but works well as a neutral that turns cooler on me, so I wear it with my stronger cool-toned eye looks. I use Gingerly for warm ones and love that it doesn’t go orange on me. That formula is my new favorite.
@@seevanhawkins4591 They are so reliable and last all day. Mac used to have more coolers like these but retired so many, not sure why. I remember going into the Mac shops and there where endless blushes in what looked like "boring" skin colors but were so good on. I have a feeling they became less trendy, I hope they see stuff like this online and bring them back. I miss Tenderling so much. Gingerly is really great, I really like that it has this bit of rust in it but still somehow isn't orange?! Whoever worked on all those shades way back when is a genius.
This is by far my favourite kind of blush and this video made me realise that I don't need any more as I already have the best ones. Fleurtatious and Inner Glow are my forever favourites. I was a little surprised that they lean so brown as brown blush usually goes orange on my very pale cool skin. Pillow Talk blush wand and Blush Please are really good examples of nude blushes that are just too orange. Thank you for saving me money! ❤
I get so excited about this! I think the first Phytosurgence would suit me perfectly bc I have about the same weird undertone as HLP only leaning cool and a bit deeper (still fair, though): seriously muted, needs grey. I want to order the Kjaer Weis but I need to look at some swatches on cool skin, I think!
one of my fav kackie videos so far!! thank you!! would love to see my current hunts in this video format: blonzer, tinted lips. you are so entertaining and always a delight xoxo
HauteMessTom just recently did a declutter series & I lamented that I desperately want KW Inner Glow & PS Condensate because they will work so well for me, so NOW MY ALGORITHM IS TORTURING ME BY RECOMMENDING THIS ANCIENT VIDEO WHERE THOSE SHADES LOOK EVEN MORE PERFECT WHEN COMPARED TO ALL OF THESE BLUSHES THAT TURN ORANGE & PINK ON ME.
I love love love this video concept! I think it’d be so cool to see more face searches of various color groups of blushes. I’m personally drawn to brown or partially rosy blushes (was in love with cocoa from Salt NY)!
These swatches are super useful thank you!! Would have loved to see rdf Eros in comparison also, if anyone knows how it compares to these let me know! Also I once did a colour theory an experiment tried a bunch of cosmetic colours that don’t suit me ( like that blush shade that is just off somehow, that bronzer that always looks weird or that eye shadow that just sits wrong) and wanted to see if anyone else actually noticed - the first thing my bf said was ‘ why do you look like someone cosplaying as you ?? Like, it’s cute but uncanny’ . It’s genuinely one of my fave things he has ever said, I have always trusted his artistic eye, but now even more so!
I’m panning my Tower 28 Magic Hour blush and was really excited to see how you ranked it. Having no problems panning it btw: it’s a very pretty “everyday” blush color for me
I discovered in my own collection today that fume from phytosurgence is VERY similar in color to the Charlotte Tilbury Lip & Cheek Glow in colour of dreams, though the formulas are quite different
Inspired by this, I swatched my blushes and most of my lipsticks (a few of which I've worn as blush) on my pale muted/desaturated neutralish undertone face. The best "nude" blush that I have is a lipstick: MAC Blankety (described on their website as a "soft pink beige"). So for my fellow pale peeps with muted/desaturated undertones, that may be an idea. I used to own Tower 28 Magic Hour, as well as the very similar-in-tone EM Cosmetics Rose Milk serum blush, and both wore more peachy on me.
I have been WAITING for this video!!!!! So excited. Though I will say I've mostly been copying your cool pink warmish peach apricot blush layering as my skin is suuuuper similar to yours.
I love this video. There are a couple blushes I need to add… WA Mimi for sure. I have a fair warm olive undertone, and man, the struggle is real. Since I’ve figured that out, I feel like I’ve been on the right track, but things often shift to very pink, or very orange. Turns out, wearing the right color foundation helps mitigate that problem, but I often end up with something that is different than I wanted.
I love this video and concept! I have been trying to coordinate with your color wheel and try some new shades. When I put on ATHR Motivate this morning & it turned pink before my eyes, I was stunned.
