I was kind of mad that right after I bought a full size Pillow Talk lipstick in person over a year ago, they released a mini set with the mini lipstick and mini lip cheat. I was like… I would’ve just bought the set since I’m probably not running through this lipstick anytime soon. Very helpful video with all the comparisons, Kelly! Thanks! I think it’s still decent of CT to have so many minis, so at least you won’t waste as much if you don’t love it a few months into using.

My husband bought me the Pillow Talk quad for Christmas last year and I love it (even if the brand is totally over hyped). I’m someone who likes a very light look so the lack of depth isn’t an issue for me. I wound have never bought this quad for myself though. Way too expensive and I never finished or even hit pan on eyeshadow.

I have something to add to the eyeshadow debate. I personally own pillow talk DREAMS and regular pillow talk quad. The pillow talk dreams quad is much more worthwhile of your money in my opinion. You get a deeper brown berry , a pinky berry and you can create more depth with this palette. . You also get more shade variation within the shimmer, you get a darker pink and a lighter more champagne pink. Just with those four shades you can create pretty various looks and there’s more depth within the small palette. Also for me personally the formula may not be Natasha denona quality or amazing but in my opinion I think it is really effective and easy for me to use. I have four shades I can create a simple easy look on the go which is usually what I need something quick and easy. I also love them for traveling because they are small and compact so they don’t break easily. I do my eyes in 123 with these Quads and for me that’s what I really enjoy.

Really helpful video. I've found really good dupes for CT in make up revolution of all places. Like them or loathe them, some products are spot on. Examples, the CT cream bronzer, MUR do an excellent cream bronzer for £6 pounds, I bought 2 in different shades and they are so comparable to CT.. Also they do a cream highlight in the same wand like component with the sponge tip, it's available in alight or ablaze, basically copies for the glow gasm and spot light wands. It looks beautiful on and gives the same affect. And the one you mentioned Kelly for a highlighted cream blush are also beautiful at £8. I'm done with CT, her company just never gives back, no special offers that are truly special! I wear the flawless finish foundation which I love but won't be re purchasing. I thought the contour wand fine but wasn't blown away, and the pillow talk lipstick makes me look dead when I wore it. So I've had too many misses with them. I'm on the hunt for a good medium to full cover foundationas we speak. Thinking maybe I'll try Too faced born this way as there are so many you tubers recommend it. Thank you Kelly your always spot on no matter which brand you review ❤

I’m too pale for the flawless filter and definitely the elf dupe. For that glow without any pigment I use essence glow primer serum. Looks lovely on the skin and foundation always looks beautiful.

I own several lipsticks as I do like her formula. There is something in her undertones that fits me very well. Her wands are great, I also like the pillowtalkshade mascara she has. It pops my eyes. But for a standard black; budget is fine. And I think that is the key in high end. It has to be special for you and your preferences in formula and/or shade to make it worth.

Pillowtalk doesn’t work for me. I’m muted neutral/cool. Pillowtalk is too warm and just makes me look dead. I love the Maybelline Born With It lipstick! So completely agree on spending high end prices on lipstick. A high end store clerk sold me the Filmstar Bronze and Glow, and I never liked how it looked. Too warm again. I decluttered it, which was painful given how expensive it was. I love your dupes videos!

Peekaboo liner by nyx has been my go to for a year or so! I line and fill my lips with it and then just a bit of lip balm after for a no makeup makeup day...purrfecto!! I will say I tried the Nyx lingerie push up formula in peekaboo and it's NOT the same color. Like at all. This is also the case with thier color bedtime flirt. The lip liner and other 💋 💄 products are different colors despite having the same name.

I have to admit I'm a big fan of CT Eyes to Mesmerize in Oyster Pearl. I bought most of the others and was very underwhelmed with the exception of Star Gold which is nice. I also admit that I love her Lip Cheats; iconic nude is my all-time favorite, but I also like pillow talk medium.

I think Charlotte Tilbury as a brand is so overhyped also her marketing on Instagram is also kinda misleading cuz all her models have perfect skin and in reality nobody has perfect skin also her contour wand only has 2 shades how’s that gonna fit all skin tones?! People should really talk more about her lack of inclusivity in shade ranges the same goes to Natasha or PatMcGraph when they release face palettes it’s always one shade of blush & highlighter and that’s never gonna fit all skin types 😬

I own only the flawless filter but i will never repurchase it! Nothing super interesting or to die for! Her foundations are super cakey and heavy, lip products i find a tone in drugstore and i use only powder bronzers / blushes / highlighters and i don't feel the need to throw 120 € for 3 liquid products!

I used to use a drugstore plum colored eyeliner from Almay I think that might be a dupe for that Pillowtalk eyeliner! It was part of a collection they came out with years ago aimed at contrasting with your eye color, and of course that was the one for green eyes. I think they still make something similar!

An excellent alternative to the Pillow Talk quad is the Flower Beauty quad in Gilded Lily. It doesn't have a pink, but the Pillow Talk pink isn't very punchy so the end result looks very similar. I know from experience. I own both. If you want a pink included as well and don't mind a similar price point (for two more shades and WAY more product), look to Wayne Goss's Pearl palette. It regularly does battle with his original Imperial Topaz for my favorite of his palettes. ☺

I would say about 1/3 of my very small assortment of makeup is from Charlotte Tilbury. I like to get my purchases right on the first try, and I rarely have a dud product from her (except that darned eyes to mesmerize, also I don't plan on getting skincare from her) I think its all about what people use. If you enjoy having 12 different eyeliners and blushes then definitely do drugstore and play the field. But if you want that one good thing in sturdy packaging that you're planning to use up completely, then just get that one splurge item and enjoy the user experience. I've actually saved a lot of money this way. For example I used to use 2 brow products to fill and shape but then I tried the CT Legendary brow gel and it performs just the same for me. Its saved me time and money!

I must be the only one who despises the Matte Revolution formula from CT. I only have the infamous Pillow Talk shade, so maybe it's not enough to form a reasonate opinion, but I find it to be overly drying on my lips, no matter how heavy I go with hydrating balms/oils beforehand. There has been so much hype around the lipliner/lipstick combo in Pillow talk for years now and looks like everyone and their mom loves them. I love the liner, one of my favorite shades and formula, but the lipstick? No, thank you. One of my most painful regrets. The only way I can wear it comfortably is with some sort of balm or gloss on top, which of course, goes against the whole "matte" conpect of the lipstick.

I need a dupe for the Airbrush Flawless Finish Setting Powder. I recently tried this for the first time and I was shocked at how well it worked. I like to powder my face but I have dry skin, so I usually have difficulties. The CT powder worked amazingly and it lasted all day. Usually by the end of my workday my face makeup is starting to separate. Not with thus powder. I need a dupe!

A possible dupe for the Eyeliner could be the '20h ULTRA PRECISION GEL EYE PENCIL WATERPROOF' from Catrice in the shade '80 Berry Plum'. I have that one and I think it loos very similat to the CT Eyeliner. Would love to see you compare the two. ❤️

I have a lot of the same CT products you do (all in mini size) and all of them except for the Flawless Filter I think are nice but not worth the price (haven't tried the Elf version yet). However, I had a sample of the concealer and it looked really nice so I may pick that up. I'm willing to spend $ to cover up my dark circles haha.

You’re totally right about the lipsticks. I’ve found that I like and reach more for my Wet n Wild matte lipstick in Skinny dipping ($2!) than my Pillow Talk. Too bad I didn’t return my full size before the time to return expired because I haven’t even opened it! I still haven’t used up my mini! 🤷🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️Never again! The WnW one lasts for a very long time on me too. ☺️ It’s slightly lighter I think which works better for my fair skin.

I do think that if you want to buy CT you should invest in big palettes and sales. The Pillow talk lipstick is an overhyped product but if you want to try you should get the minis. Also the mini beauty wands worth to try.

My personal opinion is that dupes can be quite wasteful, especially if you really love the original. Like, I get that luxury makeup is too expensive but a lot of times I find I spend more money on trying to find a cheaper dupe and the unsatisfactory dupes get wasted in the back of my makeup drawer. I just save my pennies for the original now. But if you’re just curious about liquid highlight or something yeah totally get the drugstore version. It’s much better to fall in love with the drugstore version from the get go

Exactly! Just buy the real thing, it will last you a loooong time! Minimalistic makeup collection is what I’m all about anyways! 🙂 Less products but of great quality, you don’t need a huge collection of makeup, just the essentials, the holy grail products that are game changers for you and then some lipsticks, glosses and eyeshadows, because we need more of those for colour variety.

I have 4 products and they’re all meh for me. Especially the PT quad. I was so disappointed with it, my topper shade is so hard pan that it has 0 payoff. The filmstar bronze and glow is my favorite but it’s not a wowser as I only use the bronzer side. The eyes to mesmerized isn’t bad but it’s not my fav either. I don’t understand the hype at all. But most of this I bought because YT I trust (Wayne Goss, Amanda Z and Samatha!) so thank you Kelly for your honest opinion 🥰

I am honestly so sad about the Pillowtalk eyeshadow palette. I pined after it for so long and was so underwhelmed when I got it. I feel like it fades off/creases so much faster than my other eyeshadows (both high end and drug store) even with a primer! I still use it cause it was so expensive. I feel like the darling palette (my sister has this) has way better payoff and longevity but def pulls warmer!

Agreed, but I hate that it pulls warmer! The 12 pan pillow talk eyeshadow palette does too - I forgot I had it until I read your comment. I never use it because the pink shades look straight up orange on me lol

I think the CT quads are way overrated. I think I have two. I bought the first one because I was curious and the second one was the Fire Rose palette that everyone was obsessed with and I was having FOMO 😅 I'll admit that Fire Rose is as beautiful as people said it would be but I still don't think the quads in general are worth $53 seeing as there are better formulas out there that you can get more shades at a better cost, even luxury-wise. ND midi palettes are/were $65 (I haven't bought any at the new price point) and while that's still extremely pricey, you're at least getting 15 shades for really beautiful formulas. Loved hearing and seeing your dupes! Edit: As for her lipsticks, even though it's a nice formula, it doesn't "wow" me either. Pillow Talk isn't a favorite shade either lol Honestly, I do love high end lipsticks more than drugstore, but I do really enjoy the Milani formula.

I was 💔 to miss out on Fire Rose - it looked like exactly what I wanted in a quad. I have most of the other CT eyeshadow palettes and quads, and while I like them, none of them are a "full eye look" for me, sooo kind of disappointing for the cost. I always end up using multiple palettes or skip the CT altogether. I love my em cosmetics eyeshadows and the bareminerals gen nude rose palette.

I can’t believe how nobody seems to be talking about how overpriced the elf halo glow is, like not only for the drugstore but for the brand itself too! I would much rather spend the same amount to get the high end version in an amount that I might actually use up. Also, I commented on another video but you may not have seen it - I was curious what your source was for Kaja’s cruelty free status? I checked leaping bunny and logical harmony but wasn’t able to find approval from either

Plus since they overhauled the site a few years ago (where they reached out to online CF communities and got feedback on what they would like to see/usability) it’s been great for filtering brands that are vegan, not owned by a non-CF parent company, certifications etc. I love leaping bunny (I have the app for quick lookup), but it can be overwhelming and can take a LONG time to sort through to find good/relevant products. I think CFK has done A LOT to spread awareness about animal cruelty in the beauty industry and made going CF so accessible to more people. I always suggest CFK as a starting place for my friends looking to go CF for that reason.

Well. A a couple of dupes no one talks about are the Revolution liquid drops primer for the Tilbury one and the Physicians Formula illuminating primer (long before the elf dupe!). No reason to pay such exorbitant prices!M
