I recently bought my first two models from AMS and they seem great in everything except shipping costs are a bit high! Because I live in Saudi Arabia, the shipping was £20. But they have many awesome models to choose from! Thanks for doing this amazing video! Greetings from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia 🇸🇦🤠✋
What a fantastic video man! There’s a lot of sections that were smooth sailing and plenty of sections where I’m still laughing as I’m writing this comment, phenomenal work!!!
just before christmas I am last minute making a huge list of the best model stores and I found some AWESOME ones from this video! Thank's for making this video man it is very helpful! If you havent already... I would also reccomend making a video of the best manufacturers. I have a wide variety of manufacturers and they are all good and it would help them out for more people to know how good they are!
My favorite is panda fox because of the variety, but I also do like Waffle (an unpopular opinion) they have quick shipping (4-5 days for me) even though I live across the country from where they are located also the variety from them is amazing. RM models is also very good but the shipping times could be improved. Anyway, I’m very excited and I will see you at the premiere!
same i use panda all the time ive bought 5 models and jet bridges and gse from them, i also use aviationdeligght because i live in canada so i use them sometimes. and the only downside is that i have to pay for it to cross the boarder but its only 10-20 dollars so its not that bad.
Thank you! I just started with this hobby, and your video helped me a lot. I just ordered from 2 of your recommendations. Thanks for sharing! PS - Will you do an updated video with more stores/old stores/recommendations/bad stores? I hope you do! :)
I’d recommend avoid using Bedfordshire Diecast in the U.K, had a poor experience with them with bad service when issues arise. - Very unwilling to resolve after selling faulty models, listed as brand new describing the damage as very minimal. Stay clear everyone.
The guy’s got an attitude! I questioned him in a friendly way about his shipping charges - I didn’t challenge him- he didn’t like me questioning him and he blocked me from purchasing.
I will say about Amazon, the Louisiana One actually saves you a few bucks. I didn't buy it this way but I noticed that there was free shipping, at least for Amazon Prime members, on this particular model. However, they usually charge sales tax. So you can buy Louisiana One from The Airplane Shop and pay an additional $10 for shipping or you can buy it on Amazon and get free shipping but pay maybe 10% sales tax depending on where you live and pay about $5 cheaper than buying it straight from The Airplane Shop.
This is a good comment. I am someone who try to save every dollar possible as I care about my financial future, and even just saving $5-$10 adds up over time. It is for the same reason I eat at Mc Donalds instead of StarBucks.
I buy primarily from waffle, ez toys, the Flying Mule, and eBay. Ive bought from panda fox and the diecast airplane store as well. I now that a lot of people don't like waffle for various reasons but I would readily defend them. Sure I've gotten some broken models from them but everyone has gotten those from where ever you buy from! Their shipping is normally like $10, which is normal, but it always come in like 2 days! They're normally willing to work with you and they're prices are great! They also get really rare used models (that they actually have in stock, some of which I've bought). I can also get a 10% discount every order! Great video
Hey, man1 I appreciate your defense for Waffle Collectables and I will do a video on him and why his store is one I do not trust in a future video along with all I said in this video. I will make my counter claims your your good defense here. $10 shipping while standard price is still more than what I would pay as most retailers, even Eztoys offers free shipping in some form or anther. From what I can tell, Waffle Collectables offers no way to get free shipping. Saving $10 each order for me adds up very quickly. I will concede that he has an excellent selection. The "rare models" however, are often not in the condition they are advertised which is in violation to cooperate law. Anyway, I am not going to tell you who to buy from or support. I am just going to caution against buying from someone. Thank you for the comment and for having a civil conversation with me.
@@CitrusAviation One thing I don't like about Waffle is when doing pre-orders. They take forever. I actually have ended up buying models from other stores after I got tired of waiting for Waffle to get them in stock. They'll charge you a 25% penalty fee for cancelling pre-orders and won't refund you shipping they never used. It's in their policy. So, you are basically left with no other choice but to just wait forever to get a pre-order. I made the mistake of pre-ordering from them for three models but will never do it again!
I have buy a few model from Myhobbyhouse and the person who open the store was a pilot which is really cool He is Malaysian and the model arrive so fast! Only 4 days!
I live in Montreal Canada and I'm a Big Fan of Diecast Airliners...My first Place to shop was with Ez toys...Good service ..Then later I went with Avworld in Toronto. Canada...also good Service and Well packaged.
Here in the Philippines I first bought models from a store called Hobbiestock that is where I usually buy my models from another is Tailwinds International while I've recently signed up wit EZ toys for there news letter.
Honestly the amazon one doesn’t count since amazon doesn’t actually sell them themselves if you look closely you’ll see the models have a “sold by “ description and most of the time it’s the airplane shop , sprue brothers and honestly sprue brothers is really good , this video is really good!
Thanks, man! Yeah, I knew that but didn't mention that as Amazon is essentially a huge store front for a lot of sellers. Spruce Brothers is pretty good from what I can tell. My issue with Amazon is the general overpriced prices.
Great video! I definitely agree that you should not buy from waffle collectibles, afew months ago I bought a few models from him and they came broken I contacted him and he was very rude. Definitely a seller you should avoid.
How badly broken cause for me I bought a jc wings 1:400 from him . It is an A330 and the right engine was a different height so I broke it off the wing and reglue the engine to the model making sure it was the same height.
Never had issues with Waffle Collectables. Even when they made a mistake a shipping models, they customer service was was quick and prompt and issues resolved ASAP. They are my preferred retailer.
I'm so happy you have had a good customer experience. My experience admittedly has significant;ty improved recently so I will reconsider their position in the next version of this video.
They are an online store so don’t have a brick and mortar store. However, when I have ordered from them I remember it coming from a North Carolina address in the area but could be wrong.
Great video! I have some differing opinions regarding a couple retailers. I’ve had perfect experiences with Waffle Collectibles up to this point. Obviously that doesn’t mean everyone will, but I’ve had no problems so far. With the GJ March though, that might change. The strategy is not to complain to him, and you will avoid any potential issues with him being rude or using inappropriate/offensive language against you. That being said, he is a business and he should act more professional. Last time I bought from ezToys was when I preordered the NG jetBlue A321. They didn’t ship it right away and said it was held up in customs, and it would ship that Tuesday. After that, I emailed them again and I was told it wouldn’t arrive until mid-September, so they lied to me. Haven’t bought from them since. After that I agree with everything else.
By this point we have both made our position on Waffle Collectables clear. You have had a good experience, and that is great! I'm happy his store is working out for you, and since it is I would actually recommend you stick with him. However, I can not in good concurrence recommend his store to anyone because of the 'issues" he has. I must say my recent experience with Eztoys has not been as good particularly with the new DAL CR9 where my experience was terrible. As this video was so popular I will be doing an updated version of this video next year and there is a good chance Eztoys will move to the unrecommended position.
@@CitrusAviation OMG $1600 so sorry to hear that that’s a lot compared to my just $90 but still is there away to get the website taken down I’ve did my best leaving scamadvisor review but yes I’m taking your advice and going to my bank
I like waffle just because he’s based in the LA area and I get his models in 2 days :) but yeah I’ve had a bad experience with him when it came to a broken model before, he didn’t wanna refund because “that’s the norm now with Gemini Jets” but whatever.
It seems people wither have great or horrible experience with Waffle. He will almost literally fight anyone over a return. He has been used racial slurs several times, and I will be making a video on the topic including screenshots. As fa r as "That's the norm with Gemini Jets" I have two things to say. First, it shouldn't be normal as Gemini Jets models are expensive with constantly increasing prices with high standards being expected. Second, basically every other retailer I have veer worked with other than DieCastJets is always happy to give a refund without an issue.
In general experience, with Amazon was good but had to admit that prices when I checked out they became overpriced, the Qatar 747-8F bought from Amazon originally was in $39, and the Turkish 777-300ER 1:200 originally was in $44, when I checked out they were in $59 and $55. The shipping to Colombia was DelAAyed. With Airplane Shop it was amazing, just because of the variety, prices were good. Just Airplane Shop is good in-store, online is a shit. Currently I'm planning to get a VivaAir A320-214 by Gemini200 and thanks to your video I found EZtoys and they have a lot of variety and fair fares. Saving more than 20 dollars if I buy the model on airplane stop
PandaFox for me! They're based in the same zip code as me so I can receive mine on the same day or the next day! Free shipping as well and some awesome prices as said in the video!
Thank you! I believe so but for US customers I recommend buying from a store in the US to save on shipping as shipping from the UK will cost at least double and probably 4 times as much as just buying from the USA.
OHH😭😨😰, i ordered 3 models on ebay but sold by diecastjets (two 1:400 and one 1:200) now after seeing this video I m really scared as even though it’s through the medium of ebay , the seller is Diecastjets only. They should be alright , right ?😰
@@CitrusAviation I bought it through eBay , so it won’t be as worse as buying it from diecastjets directly right ? and Ebay models do come in good condition right ? what is your opinion about that as i am really scared now😥
How about Airline Museum Giftshop? I've only had one bad experience with them cause they sent the wrong plane but they let me keep it and sent my original order with no issues
For anyone thinking of buying from AMS, don’t buy from them unless you are in the British isles or northern / Western Europe. If you buy from them and you are in the americas, it will probably take months to get to you because their stock is all sorted in the UK, and shipping is only cheap for the British isles, and not too much more for northern / Western Europe.
This is why I said in the video "for you European collectors". Now the model will not takes months but more like two weeks to arrive, which is still a not time but not as long as assumed. Also, it should be mentioned that shipping from the UK is going to be about $20. Anyway, AMS is good for model collectors in Europe.
Amazing vid! I have ordered 3 models from pandafox toys. I have gotten a Phoenix Qantas Airbus A380, Gemini Jets Qatar Airways Boeing 737Max-8 and a JC wings Eva air MD-11 (it’s still shipping tho) from pandafox!
@@CitrusAviation The A380 and 737MAX-8 were already shipped by the time I posted this comment because I got the A380 in December and the 737MAX-8 in January. Sadly the MD-11 order was cancelled due to its progress of being shipped not moving at all since the day it was ordered.
I don’t like waffle collectibles because he will harass you on Facebook if you call him out for being rude, and he will also be rude if your payment doesn’t go through properly, I had a problem with payment and he told me to either “fix it or don’t buy from me”. He is also a racist I’ve seen some of his rants on Facebook were he has called people racial slurs or used profane language in his rants, all in all this guy is not a good person and he will not be getting my money again. Also I got into an argument with him on Facebook and he got all the administrators in that group to harass me.
I appreciate you for adding your Waffle Collectables experience. While I have heard many things about Waffle's conduct, I can not officially comment on them for legal reasons asI am not familiar with it. Thanks for your commentary though.
mannn i just ordered 3 amazon models i hope they come good 😟 (atlas air 747, california one 737-700 southwest, and a 777-200 united new livery) ✈️ nice video (i ordered these before i saw this video, so im gonna sit on my porch and wait for the amazon driver to HAND it to me instead of throw it, wont make the mistake again)
@@CitrusAviation so the models arrived today, atlas air 747 and united 777-200 came in perfect condition, althought the southwest model came with broken landing gear, i don’t really care because i will return it and get the the money back on my gift card and buy it again. anyways my next gemini jets purchase will be from ez toys
@Citrus Aviation so I returned one and they said they wouild ship another one so yeah their return policy is good but not buying from them, ez toys next time or ams
I am very sad as I live in Australia and most online stores people recommend are in America and the shipping prices are often more than the plane model itself so can you recommend anything for me :(
Nice opinions I agree but I did buy of waffle collectibles to get a rare model in 1/400 from gj I didnt have a bad experience shipping came on time and I didnt have to deal with Micheal lol my model came non broken in good condition
@@CitrusAviation yeh I guess but it only just got released in late 2020 and right now it's already growing slowly to the rare side with some parts. I mean almost all southwest models basically get rare lol. I do get your points tho
So far for me my first jc wings 1:400 for my Sydney airport turn up a few day later cause the week I order was the week Taxes got hit with the snowstorm. So yes waffle being from LA and me living in Florida and doing usps ground aka take I-10 from coast to coast fun time . 10 out of 10 will do again
Yeah, distance defiantly will effect shipping times. I know people like you guys have had good experiences with Waffle Collectables. However, I personally have not and know plenty of people who have not.
I love waffle collectibles, I have ordered 2 models from them and I had an Etihad a350-1000 model shipped by FedEx from Temecula to Chicago and both wings were off and one of the horizontal stabilizers was off, this was not waffle collectibles fault but rather Fedex to blame for. Didn’t have a problem with the Air India 777-300ER I received from them.
It is interesting most people seem to have no issues with Waffle Collectables. I should mention since this video was made I bought from Waffle again when some of those Southwest Exclusive releases came out, and I didn't have any issue with him on this most recent purchase.
@@panzerkamfwagenausf.jagdpa9281 yes started out with Herpa 1:500 but in the last two years started to buy 1:400 but still loving my 1:500. Only wish that there was more detail on 1:500 that why I buy the 1:400 .
@@CitrusAviation hey Florida best cause we only get bad storm from end of May to November I think I forgot when the wet season end down here . But on the flip side we get warm winters and no snow good old south Florida for ya
I'm fairly new to the model collecting scene so I'm not very familiar with all the retailers. Could you give a quick summary of how it's changed? Like if any of these stores should be avoided now
I ordered a Southwest 737 Max 8 and a American 777-300 from Amazon a few years ago. Both came broken. The 737 Max came with a broken wing The 777-300 came with a lose (almost broke) tail
Crap I wish I would've known Wafflecollectables was complete garbage (I knew they were bad).😫 I have 3 models on order from them. Hope they come, I really don't want to deal with Michael. 😔🙁
Rm model store is huge scam and they don’t refund models or have customer service there worse then waffle because atleast you get something with waffle but that’s $90 I’ll never get back
Since summer RM hasn't;t shipped anything to anyone. I got scammed out of $1,600 from him. I also amended the description to explain how his store is a scam and will have a video about it soon. I recommend disputing the charge with your card holder.
@@CitrusAviation I’m going through a similar situation right now. I bought from there in the past ( RM), took a few months but I got my planes. So then I bought a Jetblue a321neo back in January, never received. Emailed a few times and he said “ I’m waiting on panda to ship my orders” which was funny because the same plane from panda was all over ebay. I emailed him with an updated shipping address, and he responded the same day. I emailed again asking for an update, nothing. I emailed on Monday and today, no response. I called my bank and got my money back. DO NOT USE RM MODELS!!!! SCAM! I’m reporting him to the BBB tomorrow
@@CitrusAviation they claimed they shipped the model in September 16 but guess what never ever gave a tracking number and on top of that there customer service is dead no one gets back to you I have the shop app so I know exactly if an item has actually been shipped or not and that’s the only item with out a tracking safe to say I got scammed and never getting my American 737max
@@CitrusAviation I ordered a model and every month they kept pushing the date back for when it would get delivered and never told me when they changed the date. I waited 6 months to switch the model
Thank you for your comment! I apologize for the late response. RU-vid hid the comment and it only appeared in my comment feed now. Hahahahaha, and why I recommend you find a good store located closer to you.
