in 2002 smackdown had a then-5 year old Marilyn Manson song now in 2021 smackdown has a 30 year old AC/DC song

Let It Roll is like, perfect 2008 era buttrock, and Born 2 Run has that killer hook and the wintry piano parts. Love em both.

Reason for the amount of Rise Up versions was that Drowning Pool was going through a transition of lead singers after their original lead, Dave Williams, passed away in 2002. The person you heard in the 2004 version was probably the one that was on their Desensitized album, Jason Jones. He left after, and they had to search again before they landed on Ryan McCombs, who did a proper rerecording of the song that lasted the remainder of that theme's run. The instrumental version was used for the 5th Anniversary episode. Let It Roll was for the 10 Anniversary year, and was LEAGUES better than If You Rock Like Me. Know Your Enemy was used when Smack Down went to SyFy, and Born 2 Run was used as a bumper music for a while before becoming the main theme. I think they used Black and Blue when they moved Smack Down to USA.

LOL (Also, the band Drowning Pool did have to change lead singers due to the passing of their original Lead singer, Dave Williams. However, their next lead Jason Jones was already in the band when they started doing these intros until 2006. I don't know who their lead singer was for the other version of Rise Up from 2006-8 as their current lead, Jasen Moreno wasn't in the band until 2012)

I think all of the smackdown themes through the last rise up were good. Everything after was pretty bad. It’s hard picking a top 3 from Smack to Rise up. I really liked the original Rise up instrumental though even though it was barely used.
