This was a very useful video. For those complaining about all the 3's or not being able to use this on lower levels you have to remember that the average 2-3 zone be as active or extended like the college athletes. You simply have to make the zone wrong by picks, overloads, or cuts. I will never coach my middle schoolers to shoot 3's but we can start at perfecting the mid range jumper which will be available throughout the holes in the zone. Teaching them shot mechanics and footwork is vital IMO.
2-3 zone’s goal is force defenders to make low percentage shots problem is some of these clips have players doing the zone very lazily or not right or they have good shooters
it was a nice play. you initiate with a wing to wing pass, and that tells the 5 who to screen. you could drive it here and dish, but wisconsin had some nice 3 point shooters, so they took it.
Keith Fuller I suppose, but the video is labeled like it's the clip reel to watch for ideas on zone offense. I don't think anybody searching RU-vid for ZO ideas needs a video to teach a mouse in the house 3pt play.
Okay all 3 pt shots with D1 players. Cant expect middle school or even low level HS players to make these shots with consistency. Pretty much useless video for these levels.
Why not players miss shots because they take bad shots and/or dont have the jump shot mechanics to make shots. Sure young kids may not have the strength to shoot 3 pointers but middle school players and most certainly HS players should be able to 3 point shots. Basketball coaches have to do a better job teaching kids how to shoot.
HS basketball coaches don't have the time to teach individual skills and conversely like u said in ur first comment there are a boatload of bad shooters. Its not that they cant shoot they don't practice it enough because HS coaches assume my players "know" already how to shoot. Which is a crazy assumption when dealing with average players, because we can look at the NBA and see players who cant shoot and need shot coaching. Zone defense is designed to stop dribble penetration so these videos are very helpful in creating offense against ZONE. U shoot teams out of the zone that does not change based off of age or level. The shots in this video are spot up set jumpers against a scrambling defense are more than make-able these are not steph curry shots.
