I lowered my 2021 with no regrets. I’m old, slow and don’t ride any crazy terrain.

That's awesome! That's exactly why my dad lowered his! It's definitely a good option for that type of riding!

I have experience with this with lowering 2 dirtbikes as of late. If you can help it, Find a bike that is lower first. Xtrainer or Beta 200rr is perfect. Then If you need to go further, go for a seat height change. Then if needed lower suspension after that. Ground Clearance is very important. Hitting Footpegs on everything sucks and riding is rough.

Exactly! Well said! The ground clearance was so horrible I hit every rock! Love the bike but hated the lowering kit!! Thanks for watching!

I lowered my ktm 2022 300 xc 2 inches but at stock the bikes ground clearance is already 2 inches higher then the beta 300s and I'm only 140 lbs with gear so find almost no difference other then being able to dab on places it was sketchy before. Moto labs out of Tennessee is a suspension guru with lowering and valving.

@@vlarolfe I'm glad it worked out for ya! Do you notice the pegs clipping more rocks and stuff? That was a big issue for me. But I also weigh 40 pounds more than you

@@utmx No but that was my fear with lowering the beta and why I went ktm instead, ktm 300 xc stock is around 14.7 ground clearance and the beta stock is about 12.5 so after lowering ktm 2 inches I got the seat height about a half inch lower then stock beta with the same ground clearance.

@@vlarolfe oh nice! I didn't even think of that!!

I wouldn't think it would matter too much for most riders, especially if you get the lowering kit with the revalved shorter springs for your weight (dont forget to include gear) . If you just had the lowering kit, I could see your suspension capabilities being reduced but when you revalve the springs for your weight I would think it would compensate it by whatever reduction in travel you have but that is just my opinion and nothing scientific..now it would be better to just revalve for your weight and leave the travel alone but that isn't always viable for shorter people who want in on the action! Also, did the 200RR in this video just have the lowering kit or was the fork springs also purchased with it and revalved for proper weight?

The bike just has lowering link kit it wasn't revalved! I agree it would be better that way however the pegs still hit way to much stuff. Roots and rocks!

I cut my seat down on my YZ, then had to lower it 1 inch. I'm 5'7 and would never do more than 1 inch lowering kit. My Husky is not lowered, I just cut seat down and I'm just fine.

Yes 2 inches is just to much it changes the bike negatively!

Try out a kawasaki klx140 it's a great bike and my wife loves it! If she wants to go faster and harder than the 200rr with a lowering kit is great for girls!
