CORROSION CAN CAUSE OIL PUMP FAILURE! Beta released an inspection notice Dec 2021 to dealers to check the ECU/CDI plug and pins for corrosion and also the ground strap to frame under tank for paint impeding good contact. Both can be responsible for oil injection failure and service or engine light won’t come on to warn of failure. A lot of brand new 2022 models are having problems. See this video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-l4YgP7lw3JQ.html Monitor your bike carefully and insist that Beta fixes any issues. These problems have gone on for too long. KICKSTART ISSUE FOR SOME 2021 MODELS! Quite a few guys are starting up their new bikes and quickly getting a crunch then the bike locks up. It's a problem Beta is a aware of, and probably a lack of proper heat treatment on the ring gear for the starter. Take it straight to the dealer for a warranty claim, don't attempt to start the bike! Read more in the link below: facebook.com/groups/BetaXTrainer/permalink/3723863981037854/?comment_id=3724025977688321 MAIN BEARING FAILURES FINALLY FIXED FOR 2021? In the latest case, a 2021 Beta main bearing failed at 25 hours. The dealer tried to get out of the warranty claim by saying the bearing was slightly rusted, but the owner stuck to his guns and said the bike had never been drowned and only a faulty seal could have let in water. There is only a very small number of 2021 cases coming in so far so what the cause or causes have been over the past three years it looks as though the issue has mostly been solved. CARB WATERPROOFING: Use self-amalgamating tape around the throttle boot over the carburetor. This will not only stop it popping off as you can see in one of our earlier vids, but will also waterproof it properly.

My daughter's x trainer lost the main bearing at 35 hrs, beta did a complete overhaul top to bottom at no charge to us. My 300 race got a pin hole in the seal between gearbox and crankcase started burning gear oil. Have you heard of that before? My dealer did a full inspection and found nothing that should have broken the seal. Did a complete overhaul and was able to get it warranty from beta at 105hrs! My opinion, if beta will stand behind the product that well I'll keep buying!!

Never heard of that seal failing, Brent. There were issues with coolant leaks for a few years though. Beta USA have provided great support, but it has varied from passable to horrible in other countries. 😢

@@crosstrainingenduro hopefully Beta will get other countries up to the same support I've had. I hate to see a good thing go bad over factory/dealer support. 21 200rr..my first Beta. 57 years old and I can't believe how much I like this bike. It can rip without tearing my arms off, yet lug. Very easy to ride. I still have a Husqvarna TE300I and it's great, but it seems like I gravitate towards the Beta more often.

RR200 is a great bike. It's easy to ride on the pipe and it builds confidence. Enough low end grunt to rectify some riding mistakes but not too much to get you into trouble. No regrets here on the 200 RR! There are some lunatics that ride hard enduro on 125s so 200 should be more than capable.

I've spoken with heaps of Beta dealers and they will quietly just shake their heads and say why doesn't Beta just slap their factory workers around the head when they mess up? The good dealers are going over each bike and fixing all the mistakes like poor routing of wiring, missing bolts and parts, bolts that are hand loose. Most of it is small stuff but they should be doing much much better than this by now! These are great bikes, and deserve much better than this.

I got my 2020 200rr in February and have logged about 1,000 miles. I absolutely LOVE this bike. It's so much more fun, flickable and manageable than my previous KTM 300. Yet still plenty of power! I can hang with 300 riders of my skill level. Issues I had to sort: adjusterd float, looped vent hoses (can now go 55 miles to reserve), got a new Speedo cable (warranty). Wiring didn't have problems, but dealer replaced wiring harness (recall) on right side under gas tank. This bikes fun level is off the charts! Incredible how much low end lug it has!

Have a 2019 200rr now with 105hrs, runs like a dream , always starts first crack, hauls like a tractor up hills. Spooge means there’s oil in the engine. Only non issue is Speedo cable failure, I can see how fast I’m going. Mates 300 just had a bearing failure at 150hrs, the classic dry left hand side. The only observed and measured variance to spec was the width of the crank being -1mm. Good to know if anyone else has observed the same on a bearing failure.

There is literally no excuse at this point for these issues. Every year they have a slew of QC problems that kill confidence in an otherwise really nice setup.
@crosstrainingenduro
@crosstrainingenduro 3 года назад
Possibly some of the problem is because they are still essentially a family business and they haven't developed effective ways to get feedback from distributors, dealers and owners, then rapidly respond to known issues. While the majority of riders love their bikes and have no problems, it is increasingly unacceptable that certain problems persist and can take years for the factory to finally fix (or in the case of exhaust joins leaking spooge... never). If the situation doesn't improve in 2021 I'll certainly be looking elsewhere for my next bike.

@@crosstrainingenduro Simply looking at where their warranty dollars went would cover it. I had a 17 250rr. 3 trips in for an oil pump that did not work at all (ECU), 300 dollars to have my destroyed sachs tubes coated and rebuilt, 2 computers and various harness issues. I sold the bike for another brand with less features but none of the reliability issues. That sad part is that it would have been a great bike for some seemingly minor bug fixes that made you worry about your rides vs. enjoying them. Keep up the good work, stay safe, much love from the States.

That is a bad run. 😢 I know plenty of Beta dealers and distributors are unhappy with me calling Beta out about their known issues, but they are lucky I wasn't even aware of the ridiculous problems they had with crap anodizing on their forks for years... or coolant leaks etc. Fundamentally their bikes are great, they just need to get their shit together and apply the quality control these bikes deserve.

I did go through the plugs to add dialectic grease but every plug was coated. Not sure if dealer or from factory. OI pump tube has been secured nicely and no rubbing spots. I didn't get the upgraded radiator for tighter turning. That's a bummer. Or the upgraded seat. Bike is great, and looks sharp! Got back into riding 3 years ago. Was on an older crf250x. Wanted something with low end grunt and this Def has it. Suspension is still stiff but looks like I need more hours before it sets in. Speedo cable issue I had was that it came unplugged. For my wires by the triple clamps I use flexible plastic wiring sheath. To wrap around any potential rub areas. It’s basically a stiff yet flexible plastic tube in various diameters with a slit down one side. Cut to length with scissors, position over the area of concern, and put in place with a couple wraps of electrical tape. They also sell heat resistant flavors. It has a grey stripe down one side.

It can be tough on dealers if they deal with multiple cases over the years, but then providing customer service is part of the job. If a particular brand has too many issues it makes sense to just change brands, not offer less customer service. The engine bearing failures have been an issue as Beta doesn't fully reimburse the dealers for warranty claims... they pay five hours labour when it usually takes longer, and won't pay for replacement fluids.

2021 Beta 250 rr owner speaking here. I just picked the bike up on October 6 and i’ve road it almost every other day. I have about 7 hours on it so far. Here are some of the problems i’ve had so far: speedo keeps resetting, black splouge leaking, front fork guard rubbing on the stantions, and coolant leaking from somewhere around the head. To solve there i zip tied the rubber joint between the pipes, that didn’t work. For the speedo i changed the battery, that didn’t solve anything. For the coolant, i’m taking it to the dealer. It could be loose hoses but I want to be sure and have them look over the entire bike. Has anyone else had these problems with the 2021’s? My 20 300rr had a coolant leak and it was due to a loose clip when the bike was a few hours old. Fuel tap side, hose above cylinder head was the issue. I just reseated the pipe and tightened up the clip. Dealer will solve the speedo for you Spooge is 2 black cable ties on the rubber connector, it. Needs a tighter fitment. With the forks, I run a 47 showa setup. I use a heavy duty cable tie around the fork for the guards to slide on, been doing this on all my bikes as a precaution. You can buy am skf plastic collar for the beta that is like the ktm fork slider protectors if you want.

@@mxdave thanks so much for the tips! Im pretty i solved the coolant leaks by tightening all the hoses down today. The dealer just send the warranty claim in for the speedo as well. For the splouge im going to use silicone on the joint along with the zip ties. I heard a few things about the cable ties on the forks so i’ll have to give them a shot.

Great channel Barry. Thanks for the entertainment and info. Hillarious intros/texts. I have 16 hours on my 2021 200rr now and at least half of that is tight technical single track. Coming from husqvarna 4 strokes (fe250 and 350), i can ride this bike much longer before fatigue sets-in. It handles well, feels extremely light and the throttle is very responsive. Drinks fuel and fouls plugs quickly but, hoping a smaller pilot jet and lower needle position will resolve that issue. Planning to replace 49 tooth rear sprocket with 52 (if i can find one) to make 2nd and 3rd more useable. Handlebars not the strongest and rear tire not great in the slick and gnarly. Otherwise, no issues yet. Speedo works better than the trailtech on 2019 husqvarna. Overall, the bike is awesome! Hope it stays that way.

Many of us feel the same way, Keith. KTM has become a huge multinational company that is attempting to dominate the market by buying up other brands, and the increasing focus on profit above all else already appears to be problem with KTM making quite a few models in India and China now. 😢 There's a fair chance my next bike will be the Rieju (the old Gas Gas brand before KTM killed it lol).

That being said i had two buddies that put 300 kits in those 250x bikes and it was so wrong... The power was like old school blast and just rank. Not surprised, Alan. If this was in the UK I have heard plenty of horror stories about lack of support from the Beta distributor there... and of course that leaves dealers in the lurch and not wanting to fix the bikes at their own expense. Thankfully Beta USA have been outstanding in their support. In Australia we've had mixed experiences, but nowadays most guys are getting proper warranty fixes (at least up to 90 hours).

Oh man, I still miss my 1996 KDX200 I sold last year. I still think a 200cc 2-stroke is the best bike for most riders who ride normal enduro, especially here in Europe. Would be nice to see some comparisons between the Beta, Gas Gas and KTM 200 bikes. I know the Gas Gas is very, very highly regarded against the KTM with those who've owned both.

Not for everyone though. It depends what sort of riding you want to do. How serious do you want to get. And your height! Why go for a full enduro bike if you can't touch the ground? Have you tried the 125 ? That engine is seriously linear and grunty so I am not sure what you mean at the start of the video. I also have a exc125 and they are worlds appart in terms of powerdelivery. Down side of this is that the Beta is a vibro even compared to a 2004 Ktm. Speedos are shit on the Beta, accessing your carb is a royal pain in the ass too. And my 2019 125 RR Race is spooging real bad and often give a lot of trouble starting when not used for a few weeks. User manual doesn't give a jetting table like KTM provides which is a shame.
