Beta 300 RR vs Beta 300 Race Edition -- Which Is Better?! | Dirt Bike Test 

my 21 300rr is everything I need. What I loved the most was the Beta comes with switch gear from the factory so making it street legal just took a set of blinkers. The remainder of the wiring and switches were already on the two stroke from the factory. So I could ride fire roads and trail connector tarmac.

I'd go with Standard. Thanks for sharing the differences. Although, if the YZ250X had a button I'd buy one. Looking forward to the feedback on the handlebar and footpegs.

Both are good. It’s kind of a waste. Stock is good. Just put suspension for your weight. So 400 more for kyb? Ok but it’s not much different. Got a 15 300 rr and a 22 zf fork and my kyb 400 race edition with the hoity tooth pro racing setup from factory. I’m king of glad I didn’t add the price to my suspension. No are good. I rode a YZ300 too. It’s ok.

I put some ODI ROGUE Grey( soft compound) grips on my 2018 Beta 300 RR Race Edition which vibrated a lot! That simple switch made a huge difference that I felt instantly!! I have some nerve damage in my hand in the military that is aggravated by vibration or to thin of a grip. What happens is my hand locks up and I can't hold on or hit the brakes etc which can get very scary very quickly. These grips solved that almost completely and I'll swear by them as long as I can get them or something better come out!!

How would you say the KYB suspension on Race edition compares to the KYB suspension on a YZ250X?

Racing kyp suspension sucks on the trail imo good in the mx obviously every one different but every one I ride with thinks the same

Nice timing Jimmy!! I'm buying a new Beta within the next 30 days. Having a very hard time deciding between 200 and 300. And standard RR or Race Edition. (not Race Replica, haha) I feel like the 300 could be too much power for me, mid range and up. But love the bottom end lug of a 300. Can I reduce the mid to top end power output by turning IN the power valve adjuster? By the way, I trail ride only, 53 years old 6'0" 200 pounds, upper novice to low intermediate skill level I think. Always try to keep speeds down and wheels on the ground because I don't heal up very good anymore.

I have learned my lesson, if it doesn’t have KYB suspension I won’t buy the bike.

Nice comparison - plain terminology clearing explaining the differences. Thank you. oh and.. Mako over the Flexx bars.. made that switch after a quick stop on the BRP setup. Mako is the way to go. The fasst foot pegs are a nice upgrade too.
