Over friendly is not a good thing. The desire to be liked, exceeds over the need to be authentic, being over friendly corrodes one’s own identity in pursuit of being liked. Which brings about all manners of people, including narcissists. Narcissist come into the lives of people with these traits to teach them something about themselves and who they are attaching safety to! There is huge wound of guilt and shame, turning up as their true self would have repercussions will make them feel inadequate, so must go around with a mask in order to survive. Over friendly is to be repressing one’s own emotions despite one’s self on how they actually feel. It is doing one a level of disservice, self sabotage. Being over friendly to anything and anyone, they will find it hard to identify who their real people are in and around them. Care and love is a inside job, any over friendly habits need to revalued putting self first before considering what that means in context to others, the healthy balance of give and take.

Great video. I think Being a beta female as a black woman is challenging because of the strong black woman stereotype. Strength varies especially in women. A lot of the beta qualities are feminine. When I was girl my feminine qualities was embraced because my grandmother gave me that freedom to be myself. I think I’m in between beta and omega. I’m not like a beta all the time.

I am still speaking about the Beta female, but your comment let's me know that I may not have conveyed my description of the Beta woman as effectively as I had intended. You are correct that Beta women pick their battles wisely and are stronger than people think... This goes hand in hand with her being unreactive to avoid conflicts. She makes a choice to be unreactive, because she picks her battles wisely. She often gets looked down on by others, as they can sometimes misinterpret her unreactive nature as avoidance or weakness.
