Super Smash Bros 3DS is by far my most all time played DS game that isn’t titled pokemon. I have no idea how they were able to make the game feel so good on the 3DS. I also have no idea why Ultimate changed the online mode. Being locked into one character totally ruins the fun for me. Despite ultimate being a much better game overall, I played way more on the 3DS. I value the ability to rematch someone with different characters.
Yeah I played the 3DS one a hell of a lot since I was able to play it on the go. Whether it was to train with a character or to battle with friends. I feel I hardly touched my Ultimate copy haha
In a recent DYKG video, they claim that the "ESRB" leak was from the child (or friend) of a Nintendo employee, presumably one that made footage to send to the ESRB, and that the employee got fired over it.
14:52 Sandbag and Bomb were meant to be used in Homerun Contest and Target Blast. Both are minigames where you have to damage said "characters" and launch them, so maybe they wanted to show these names on screen
Yeah I figured that with the Sandbag which is why I did reach that conclusion in the video. Bomb however... yeah I can see that. Just never really saw it as a character for it to have one haha
Also, villager from animal crossing had an early victory theme that goes unused in the final game. This was changed from a grand-sounding victory theme, to a simple piano and flute victory theme.
Sakurai has confirmed in an interview that the games are different enough to be their own titles despite being developed at the same time. Smash 4 is the Wii U version and Smash 5 is the 3DS version
@@TheObsessiveGamer Just assumption, but could be the case for Mushroomy Kingdom at least, considering the 1-2 section didn't make it to Smash 4, and a lot of stuffs (including stages) are directly ported from Brawl
Yeah I forgot they existed until I started working on this video again. Yeah a shame they didn't stay but imagine the ludicrous amount of work needed to give every fighter custom moves in Ultimate.
I'm glad it didn't return. I never liked it when friends would show up with their characters having alternate moves. It was very non-traditional, I am a proud smash purist. (I haven't had friends come over to play smash bros with me in years nor invite me to play)
I only hate the fact that Wario voice is in Wario's Sound Test in the 3ds. I honestly thought my 3ds was just glitching and never played the sound because other sounds that in the sounds test never ir rarely play for example the sound Yoshi makes when he does his Ground (Down Special) pound it rarely ever plays but is pretty consistent in the Wii Version and Ultimate.

There's no confirmation for this, but I think one of the reasons 8-Player Smash was feasible in the first place on the Wii U was because of the removal of the Ice Climbers.
@@TheObsessiveGamer There were limits on how many stages 8-Player Smash can be played on Wii U after all, and that's why I think stages like Orbital Gate Assault were omitted in Ultimate.

Indeed. As I mentioned it was from an "insider leak". This leak was considered pretty reliable as much of its information turned out to be correct and since some data exists to point ot Rhythm Heaven, it is why this one is considered as a probably true
Honestly my least favorite Smash Bros game. It feelsike it was rushed and it made so many concessions and changes I didn't like. We lost a lot of things in this game. Break the targets,a good classic mode and most frustratingly the loss of a event mode. Neither of which were corrected in Ultimate. As Ultimate is just this Smash Bros with more content. Melee and Brawl still reign supreme.
I probably agree here. The problem I think stemmed from how they basically had to make two games so resources were split. It's really unfortunate what happened. I do feel Ultimate was at least a big step in the right direction with at least a proper Single Player mode returning and the classic modes coming to form again.
