My daughter wrote Bethany letters and sent her a tee shirt, asking her to sign it, telling Bethany how her story helped her overcome her fears. Bethany wrote back, and signed the shirt and sent it back. I was amazed, impressed and grateful for her taking the time to do that, when she must have gotten thousands of letters! My daughter, Teresa, also sent her a necklace because she was so grateful!
My daughter, Teresa, is 22 and married now. She still follows Bethany on Instagram! Bethany is a true hero and role model, unlike the majority pf famous actors, musicians and athletes these days, that young people follow. I am grateful for her testimony and faithfulness, especially on controversial issues. Bethany, thanks for standing your ground on the word of God, and your convictions!
I think people who become disabled and overcome their challenges are so incredible! My husband has been a quadriplegic since I met him and he’s an amazing breadwinner and father to our kids. With God all things are possible. Bethany is truly an inspiration.
I named my daughter Bethany Hope, ever since I watched soul surfer I loved the name Bethany! She was born at 31 weeks and had to fight hard to survive. The Lord gave her strength and now she’s a healthy little girl! Loved this interview!
When Beth innocently said, "Why are we even talking about this?" I was immediately reminded of The Emperor Has No Clothes. That's exactly what this is. We're being asked, really demanded, every single day, to deny reality and to just lie. I will NEVER do it.
I couldn’t agree more! I am a RelataGram and well remember when Title 9 came to fruition! Where in the world are those voices to raise an objection? This cannot stand!
@@lindasteinbrenner8065 we need to be more vocal and start calling out the other female athlete that aren't hold accountable and are playing along with the insanity, likewise the men that seems not bother by the fact ,that their daughter's, sisters and wife are being defiled and are losing fair opportunities and rights. There needs to be accountability and I'm so glad that Bethany was alluding to this matter in the interview. We all are in it and can make the change if we become more vocal for our girls and women
She is a serious inspiration! What a role model. I also loved seeing the male surfers stand up for Bethany when she made the statement and was attacked
Like she said, it was discouraging that more people didn’t stand up with and for her but she did the right thing regardless! She walks by faith and doesn’t let fear consume her. Praise God! ❤
My goodness. It feels like yesterday that Bethany was a little girl! Boy, what a stark reminder of how fast and short this life is. I’m just blown away that she’s 34 years old with four children of her own! Wow, she is such a lovely young lady with a beautiful God filled spirit. A true blessing for young children and adults alike. She doing amazing work in this world, trying to pave the way back to sanity for women in sports and so much more. God bless this beautiful young lady. 🙏
I can't understand how women are allowing themselves to be treated this way. All female athletes need to quit sports in protest. If they all protested, things would immediately change.
I LOVE this interview ❤ Bethany is the real deal. She has remained humble and authentic throughout it all and I truly commend that about her. God is getting all the glory. Aloha ❤
Bethany Hamilton is the only woman I actually look up to as a world changing role model. I can’t wait to teach my 1.5 yr old daughter about her one day ❤
Love love Bethany Hamilton!! You girls are such an inspiration for young girls & women worldwide!! Sharing the gospel and fighting for what’s right!! Thank you Bethany for taking a stand against the alphabet mob in sports!!
Thanks so much for having Bethany on.. she is a remarkable woman! She radiates joy and health and shines with our Lord’s grace! I admire her so much! ❤❤❤
I am similar to Bethany but with snowboarding… and I had a serious spinal cord injury when I was 16, I was snowboarding again by 17. You can’t understand the “why” until it’s your lifestyle. I’d never tell a lady to start working out hard, surfing, snowboarding, or climbing when she is pregnant but if you’re advanced or beyond in skill, go for it. I was rock climbing and snowboarding until 7-8 months with my pregnancies.
What a sweet, genuine, incredible person. Bethany and I are the same age and I remember well when news hit of the shark attack and then when Soul Surfer came out. Her faith is so inspiring. What she said about gratitude will stick with me forever.
I told my kids about Bethany to teach them about perseverance and trusting God in every situation. It is beautiful testimony. Praise the Lord for that 🙌❤️
I’ve always found Bethany’s story inspiring but as a mom of two girls it just hits me in a different level now. She’s such an inspiration for young girls to be brave when facing adversity and pursuing your passions even when it’s hard 💛
I am Brazilian and when a women's volleyball team included a trans in one of the volleyball teams, the athletes spoke out and were silenced. Weak men are taking women's places. Bethany is a phenomenon. Praise God that she is spoken about those nonsense inclusions that exclude women.
Bethany is absolutely the sweetest woman! I'm so happy to see her strength ignite her courage to stand up for what is right! We definitely need more of this in the political areas and areas of fame. Thank you both for moving the world in the right direction ❤
I know little about pro surfing, but as a fan of pro cycling, I can say that women's races are drawing more male fans than ever, bigger events and fierce competition, and everyone is seeing a surge of interest in women's basketball with the recent college season and the all-star cast of new WNBA players led by Caitlin Clark. And it is women who are making that happen, their play and their teamwork and their personalities and a healthy athletic vibe. And as a fan and a viewer and a man, I cannot understand why any women's league would suddenly redefine itself and its product as this women's surfing league has done. It is a shock to its most famous competitor, Bethany, and to her fans and I admire anyone who paddles into the middle of the ocean to ride a wave back to the beach. And I've seen kids in Hawaii way out there in the water, splashing around like they're in a water park and bobbing up and down as they wait for the ocean to serve them a tasty wave.
I have loved Bethany ever since I was 10-11. I’ve always thought she was so awesome, and she’s even more awesome now for standing up against these things. It’s absolutely disgusting that men pretending to be women can compete in women’s sports. It’s just their way of getting an easy medal. They don’t care that it’s wrong. More of us really do need to stand up against this propaganda. Bethany is amazing, and I will continue to look up to her, and strive to be more like her.
I’m from a SoCal beach town and Bethany’s accent is thick! Must be a Hawaii thing 😄 My daughter adores her. I’m grateful to her for being a such good role model for girls.
I had the same thought about her accent! I listened to the Podcast over audio and she still sounds like a 16 year-old "valley girl" in my mind, haha. But I love her testimony and her courage! You go girl!
Love that you had her on! I grew up in the youth group with her and visited her in the hospital right after her attack. I have some hilarious stories about her at church camps 😂
We watched Soul Surfer a couple weeks ago and my 4 year old is a fan now. She even cut the left arm off her paper dolls. It's especially cute because my husband almost lost himself arm in combat and has limited use.
I loved this episode so much!! Bethany has been an incredible inspiration to me for her resilience and strive to not give up and also her wisdom on where that resilience comes from (the Lord!), and now her courage to stand for Truth no matter the cost! We stand with you Bethany!✊
I'm a couple years younger than Bethany but I remember when her book came out and I read it and it was inspiring! I want to read it again! 😊 Awesome interview! ❤
Precious sister Bethany, this is your Queen Esther moment. Perhaps everything you went through was for such a time as this. We had our babies the same year. We became mothers together. I’ve always felt you are a soul sister.
It's very interesting that World Surfing made them sign an agreement ... AND THEN drops the news about men competing with women. They knew what they were doing. Disgusting behavior.
