I give Huber credit for being harsh on Bethesda. I know how much he loves The Evil Within and Wolfenstein. It must have been hard on him personally. Despite how good The Evil Within 2 trailer was, it was definitely not worth staying up past midnight in the East Coast.

was weird how mad they seemed at the devolver thing. I was watching the lower screen laughing my ass off, and look up to see these angry expressions like they were personally offended. Very strange

The salt on the Devolver presser was awkward as all hell, though I did feel for Huber as he is hosting for the first time must have thrown him through a loop, but still seemed like they couldn't take the joke at their expense and it was uncomfortable to say the least.

Props to Kyle and Damiani and Ian giving Devolver a shot. Everyone else was a real stick in the mud, shame. Ben needs to settle down. Dude always looks so wound up.

I know it was Huber's first time hosting but at Devolver's conference he was just straight up disrespecting them and not giving them a chance, talking over it about Bethesda stuff. As soon as they saw it was satire they should've switched the panel instead of keeping Huber, Brad and Ben cold staring the entire time while the rest had a good time. It ruined the mood and I had to switch to the official stream, which was a first in 3 years watching E3 with them. And then to put the cherry on top, Ben and Huber just start discussing The Evil Within 2 as if nothing happened. "This should've been uploaded separately, I feel like they just wasted my time". That's funny, it's how I felt about Bethesda's conference. It's almost as if Devolver was trying to prove a point, multiple ones even, but it all went over their heads.

When EA's Conference was better than the Bethesda Conference... IT'S THE END OF THE WORLD!!!

Devolver should do another conference in a similar tone and fashion just with more games and shorter bits.

I can't believe you guys score this one lower than EA, I would prefer this kind of short but sweet over EA's lecture style press conference every single day.

I thought Bethesda had a good showing. Short and sweet! I mean TEW2 and Wolfenstein as brand new games announced with a bunch of cool other stuff is more then enough if you ask me. You cannot bring out the big guns all the time and above all the conference didn`t feel bloated. I really liked the Devolver video, too. I didn`t think or expect that it was standup to where I`m laughing all the time. It had its jokes, messaging was clear on some games were shown off as well. I liked it as I said. I gotta say the most unpleasant part was after the Devolver video when Ben said something about TEW2 ignoring what just happened. I really do think that was very unpleasant to see because imo it came out very snooty. Gladly Kyle saved the situation by wanting to talk about it.

The Devolver event reminded me of the Don't Hug Me I'm Scared series.

Little disappointed the Allies were so dismissive of Devolver. It wasn't the height of comedy, but it was a lot more fun than most of the other conferences so far. and EZA did a whole concert full of bits themselves... I'm happy that Evil Within 2 got announced as well, but you have the next 4 months to talk about that. I guess, in fairness, it was a late night.

Devolver was a good conference, shame to see easy allies be real flat with it. First time iv seen the allies be bummed out from originality.

Wow. I watched the conference live and then went right to bed feeling great -- loved the format and style of the show, and thought the games they showed looked good. Woke up this morning shocked to see the overall reaction online. Very much enjoyed the show. I'm an east coaster and am very glad I stayed up for it.

The trailer for Quake Champions shows the main problem with games trying to be an Esport without the involvement of the consumer. If the marketing doesn't work, everyone pretty much just ridicules the game for trying to be an Esport. If it succeeds (BIG if), doesn't it just give a negative incentive to buy the game for most people? They'd rather just watch people play the game than buy it at that point.

The panels reaction to the Devolver Digital Conference was like watching people coming off an LSD trip.

HUBER!! You did a great job as a host, I can't believe this is your first time! Liked the fast and loose cutting straight to the chase hosting. This is the proof that you're not only the "hype man", as many people wrongfully believe, but you're an amazing journalist as well. Keep up the great work!

This conference really needed some gameplay demos

Michael Huber's discomfort watching the Devolver Digital conference, is almost as entertaining as the conference itself.

The Wolfenstein II game can't be "years" later since Anya is pregnant with BJ's kid. You do know that pregnancy lasts only about 9 months right? Edit: Unless you were referring to the time between the prologue of the new order and the current game.

I don't get why people are complaining about the Allies not taking the Devolver conference seriously. The fact that they even tried to wrap up their thoughts about Bethesda shows that they were willing to watch it sincerely. The thing is: Devolver made a joke, not a conference. It was not supposed to be taken seriously and you can't blame the allies for not finding their joke that funny. I mean, did you guys even watch that? How do you expect them to be "professional" about a parody skit?

Bethesda was really bad this year, I saw nothing that justified them having their own press conference this year (could have easily shown off that Evil Within 2 Trailer at a manifacturer's show and everything else was very underwhelming)

The devolver skit had some slightly funny parts at the very beginning, but it eventually became the annoying kid who takes a joke and runs it into the ground for minutes on end. So they are a game developer mocking the shitty practices of the industry, so edgy and cool am I right guys. You know the big fish will see this and laugh their asses off while swimming in their pools of money. People always act like big businesses are evil and only care about the money, well it's not true. There are companies that genuinly care, but at the end of the day this is the real world where you need money to make more products, pay salaries, and support families. Do companies go over board with their policies, yes, but people only care when they do something shitty. They employ thousands of people and bring enjoyment to millions on an everyday basis, but no one cares when they actually help people. If you hate their practices so much don't support or buy their product. You can't bitch and complain and then buy the game just to bitch and complain some more. Over all, it's just despicable how big businesse are overall treated by the media and the public, but honestly if they are going to be bitched at for not doing anything wrong, then why wouldn't you just pull the shit you are already being accused of, and god knows no one will actually do anything about it ot stop buying your product besides an insignificant few who are drowned out by those pretending to do the same. Ok I rambled a little their, but my base message remains the same.

I dunno, guys, I loved that Devolver spot. I wanna see people disrupt and play with the formula, even if it's not all solid gold. And it was quite short, so not much of a time sink. Then again, I was a Wondershowzen fan, so what do I know!

I'm ok with the pro mod thing. They're being professionally balanced so they can be safely compatible with all saves and earning trophies, and they've got to be a good quality (right?) and they're totally optional, so....I'm cool with it. But I'm not much of a modder at all anyway--last I really delved into that was with The Sims 2 lol

That Evil Within 2 trailer almost has a Kojima level weirdness in it, let's see what Shinji can do with a budget, so excited.

Personally I think Devolver and the PrePreShow saved this E3 from being another generic snoozefest with nothing really interesting going on. I'm honestly expecting less from Sony and Nintendo now, and before they were the two I was looking forward to the most. To each his own, tho, shame the Allies didn't seem to like it.

Everybody I've watched has gone "What's this game?" "Whose that?" or " God I hated Evil Within." throughout the entire Evil Within, only here and Blackcatgaming even had a positive reaction where both people figured it out from just the uttering of the name "Sebastian"

Skychim, Elder Chim Online, The Evil Withchim 2, Chimout 4, Quake Chimpions and Wolfenstein 2: The Chim Colossus looked pretty sweet!

These comments are nuts Devolver was way bad.

i don't know if they did this during the bethesda pre-show (haven't watched yet), but since the microsoft reactions are blocked - please consider saving rumours/leaks discussion for the post-show, or even not covering them at all. it kills the surprise announcements for people who don't track that stuff, or even go out of their way to avoid it. i felt this was an especially poor choice in the old switch conference since most people were not familiar with those 4chan leaks. you could pad the time out by talking more to DON... who wasn't addressed at all until halfway through the microsoft post-show and looked painfully bored checking his phone.

In regards to paid mods, as a consumer I don't like the idea, but I'm going to play devils advocate and say that I think the difference with the creation club mods is that I think they're promising that those mods would continue to be compatible with the games even after dlc gets release for said games. Yeah, mods have always been free, but at the same time anybody deserves to get paid for the hard work they do, even if it's a labour out of the love these creators have for their modding community it's a good thing that people are being paid for their hard work. If this streamlines modding, and removes compatibility, it's a win win, and could potentially be a service worth paying for. As long as the club is thoroughly moderated, this could even be a service that could draw in new modders who couldn't otherwise afford to develop mods. The biggest issue I can see, which I don't think has been detailed. What cut do the mod creators and Bethesda each take. If Bethesda's cut isn't in favour of the mod creators, this is where I see most of the contention in this could come from. Love and respect guys!

In my opinion, EZA's reaction to Devolver Digital Conference is proof that they are not just reacting to E3 and gaming shows. It's just a expensive grossing commercial on many ways, I also thought that before. There is no reason to I care about it since I never have enough money to buy some. But these people are actually care how they showed. They believe this is a big chance for companies. So, you know, it's very corporate friendly, still lovely to watching people excited and think it seriously.

Well... I dunno, I find this Conference really.... let's call it meh. Don't want sound too harsh.

Like the Allies said. Why have a conference? Just release the video, with some of the fat cut out, and say we're not doing a conference but here's a video, every game in it is out this year.

I'm a little confused. Last year Sony did a very similar thing and everyone seemed to love it and say all press conferences should go that route. That talked more at Sony, but just barely more.

I'm glad Bethesda decided to go so late to start their press conference. I didn't mind that it started at 6 am. I can understand why though, it was crucial since they had so much stage time.

EZA bombing the Devolver Conference was rly strange. Easy Update and this year's betting special is equal levels of weird. Devolver is a weird publisher making weird games. Them coming out as super serious would have been noticed by no one. Everybody is talking about them now so their thing worked. It is sad that the EZA can't respect a bold choice, you don't have to like it, but try to understand it. The other conferences are too serious anayway...
