This guy is a natural born teacher . He teaches from paying attention to his own riding experience , not from some theory . Teachers that teach in this way are always clear and easy to understand . People that teach from theory are generally not as lucid and lack the ability to transfer that knowledge to the student . These are exceptionally helpful videos with a lot of emphasis on visual explanation .

Kyle - I don't do RU-vid comments often but felt compelled to write. I'm a road cyclist who has fallen in love with mountain biking (identity crisis!). Anyway, mountain biking is so much more about skill and while I have seen many videos by many creators, yours are the absolute best. I can't tell you how much I love and appreciate your videos. They cover great topics, you talk about the concepts and physics, you then walk through the exercises in logical progressing steps, and make it easy for people to emulate. And on top of it, you and April seem like you could qualify as nicest people on the planet. Thanks SO much and please keep them coming!

It’s funny how if you just “drop the anchor” as Kyle said, you don’t come to a complete stop, but instead your back wheel just kind of skids or bounces off the surface, and when you increase breaking power steadily than it’s much easier to come to a stop. This is really helpful. Thanks Kyle and April!

After watching several hundred mtn biking videos over the last 10 years, your videos are by far in the top 2-3 for clarity, analysis and description. Excellent combo of Kyle's expertise linked with showing a less skilled biker "how to". Many good and great bikers aren't so good at coaching. Good job Kyle and excellent attitude April for receiving feedback and instruction. I wish the internet and RU-vid was available when I started mtn biking 25 years ago - I'd be alot better rider now. I'm learning so much from you, while trying to break bad habits conditioned over decades. p.s. Nice nose wheelie at 11:28 coming down that rock roll

@@AprilRideMTB I'd love to see a similar video when rolling steep, loose surfaces (either dirt, loose gravel, and sandy slopes). Yeah I have a few of those where I bike. May only be 15 feet of more or less a chute (hence the loose bits). Too much rear and its a skid show and too much front will compress and plow the front tire into the soft terrain. I'm under the impression the really loose or soft slopes must be ridden faster?

Since I ride motorcycles - we always switch the front brake to the Right - since the Clutch is usually the Left... Love your Videos! I like the Scale - 50% Brake 50% Traction :) Very True! Sometimes just skidding is going to make you go faster... as you showed!
@AprilRideMTB
@AprilRideMTB 3 года назад
That does make more sense and I tried that at first since I came from moto too, but for some reason I just had Kyle switch it back to North American MTB standard. I don't seem to have any problems going back and forth from moto to mtb. -April

You are a great teacher and April is such a trooper. You guys are great together, seeing an experienced rider with a person who is learning Where are you can see she’s nervous, but trusts you and her ability and accomplishes great things. Very encouraging! I am a roadie but just got a new Levo SL. l I have been watching your videos and looking forward to spring so I can get out there practice them and then hit the trails. I am probably 20 years older than both of you combined so thanks for helping us old guys👍
