Personally, I think it is a good idea. However, I think that a backup of traditional mirrors would be a great idea cause, like another commenter stated, @JJDrones technology tends to have bugs or failures with a backup of traditional mirrors it would prevent possible issues.
Definitely a good way to start especially for those ppl that like cutting us off. Maybe truckers wont be at fault all the time like they make us out to be.
Yes because electronics on trucks never fail and we should completely depend on cameras with no backup mirrors for when there's a complete failure. 😂😂😂 I'm all for technology but I've been in the industry 23 years and every electronic system in every truck fails at one point or another. How about you keep a backup set of actual mirrors for when these eventually glitch out and leave the driver with no vision.
This camera should be put under and behind the truck, that’s the spot drivers having hard time seeing. What’s wrong with regular mirrors? You’re inventing problem that don’t exist.
I wonder how many trucks are going to be recalled due to a defect? And if the industry wants to make the roads safer, hire quality drivers. Must be able to read, write and speak English.
I filled out the form to get this unit for my truck. I never even heard anything back. I guess this company only wants fleets as customers not owner operators
