It's no secret that I was really disappointed with the 2022 Predator Edge+ and Edge.1 options from Adidas. For $250 football boots, they just don't feel good! So if the most expensive models aren't great, then surely the less expensive options are even worse, right? Wrong.
In today's video we take a closer look at the new Adidas Predator Edge.2. The $130 first takedown model option, that offers many of the same elements as the top model, but fit and feels significantly better! It isn't often that I prefer the cheaper version of a football boots, but this is one of those times! I explain why, what the differences are and why you too might want to consider saving some money if you were thinking of picking up something from the Predator Edge range for 2022.

What I like about you is the fact that your reviews are honest opinions. Doesn't matter which brand if it fits well you say it it doesn't you don't hide or try to make it seem that it does. I got a pair of Tiempo Legend 7 Pro and Vapor 13 pro based off your reviews and theyre awesome sometimes less is more and simple boots can outperform theyre higher end counterparts

Josh, have you noticed a lot of subtle pro's who were predator wearers switching out from wearing predators to other boots or just sticking with the freaks for now? i have to say i've noticed it and it makes total sense having ordered a pair of edge .1's and also watching your reviews (i stupidly ordered without watching your reviews first)... They are a disgrace to the predators that we were once graced with, sent mine straight back!

The Predator Edge.2 are great if you're only planning on using them for one month, but after that they fall apart, like literally fall apart, rips all along the edges of the sole, seam from top to bottom on the instep to the laces tore wide open, laces holes are all torn from play. I've never seen a pair of cleats, or even shoes for that matter, with durability this bad, you'll find more durable boots at the local Goodwill store and I'm not kidding. Before this pair my son was playing in Nike Tiempos which also tore all along the sole, but at least got a full season in on them, though for $200+ only slightly better return on investment from these $110 Adidas. We're going to try a brand other than the big two, Adidas and Nike, hopefully get more than a few months out of them.

Just picked up the edge 2 today. I’ve played in running shoes cuz I didn’t have cleats and I’m already playing better. Scored 2 goals and helped my team win the game. Overall, solid 10/10

I don't think it's the Flyknit upper that makes it stiff. I think it's the rubber grips which are more and closer on the top end model unlike the low end which has less making it less stiff

Love the vids mate! I bought a pair of the edge.1’s in black and played a trial game in them on Saturday. I had no issues, and actually found them comfortable. Are they stiff ? Yes..however as I played they started to loosen and were barely noticeable. Interested to see how they hold up a few matches in and how long they could last. I’d love a review on the AG version of these, as I’m considering to get these as well.

Played in my edge.1 for the first time today. Honestly loved them. Was disappointed when the game ended. As you said, starts a little stiff, but largely unnoticeable as you pick up. Very comfortable. No slipping. Traction was phenomenal and the boot's touch quite responsive. The things were almost sticky. The whip and spin you can generate is impressive. Excited to put more time in them.

I just bought these boots but a little problem is that it pushes on the left side of my right foot because of how the laces are put in. Really annoying but i think with a soft pad on it will help

it might be hard on video but the .1s are so much more stiff than the .2s its unbelievable. Nothing would make me choose the .1s over the .2 from a comfort point of view. Btw you still need a shoe horn to get them on

I am really dissapointed that you mentioned the laces problem and did switched to SR4U laces with a crazy pattern. Also, the edge looks really similar to the last nemeziz. Those were thin and not soft. Do you think the uppers are similar?

Ordered the .3s (usually a size 7uk ordered a size 8uk) at first when trying em on they were a lil tight so i thought maybe theyll need some breaking into... played a game today skin on my toes is slightly peeling and i have a small 'blister/bubble' on my heel not sure if i ordered the wrong size or if theyre just shit bcos i feel like if i went a size up theyd be too big. Would be much appreciated if any1 can lmk if only i am having this issue.

@@anasg2419 No, they definitely do not. The .2 is made out of way better materials and it's very noticeable in the sock part, the sole, and the grippy bits on the shell of the boot. The .3 are not worth getting, if you're an adult and you plan on playing in any sort of league, whether it be a "just for fun" league, or a top level league. And fyi to everyone: Never buy less than the 2nd tier of any type of boot. It's just not worth it. You're just not experiencing football with real boots, if you get 3rd tier or worse. Take it from me. I'm a high level licensed coach and it wasn't very long ago that I was a high level player (less than 10 years).

Bro, the freak is mostly for narrow foot but on the edge is good for most foot, mostly on wide foot

Is it me or is the collar on the .2 freakin tight? It takes an unusual amount of effort to put these on as well as take them off. All is well once they’re on though.

Im disappointed with adidas for always purposely making the cleats worse than they need to be… literally anything over $110 needs to have a removable formed insole and an actual anatomical design, especially in the heel. The reason I say this is because if I have an insole problem and I want to replace it with a higher end one, then it makes the heel rub more and feels super insecure.
